I've been completing living Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Pokédexes in HOME (for that Shiny Meloetta, I'll have to inject some Gen VI/VII Mythicals to complete a true living National Dex) since yesterday and it's going well, I completed Kitakami's Pokédex (barring Dusknoir and Pokémon shared with Paldea's Pokédex) and now I'm completing Paldea's.

I’m honestly kind of shocked with how easy it’s been going, outside of breeding a handful of version exclusives, a few game crashes, and possibly needing to GTS trade for certain Legendaries later I’ve been able to catch everything I need.
It's easier if you just use the box decks they give you, and earn coins. But keeping up with the meta was ass...
And even then some of those free decks are kind of half-assed, you're better off looking at Limitess' tournament results and getting an idea on what kind of decks are good in the format.
It's a complete whiplash if you're someone like me that hasn't played the games since TCG on GameBoy. The fact that they revamped the older cards and made them sucky is even worse. Hitmonchan's card on the new TCG pocket, whilke based on the very first card generation, only has ONE weak attack instead of two attacks. The Poliwhirl card suffers from the same thing. It's based off of the eReader card but only giving him his punch attack... they removed his bubblebeam attack.

Also the fact that colorless birds don't resist fighting or colorless in general doesn't resis psychic anymore is another thing that royally brings my piss to a boil.
To be fair Pocket's a bit different from the main TCG by a wide margin, the removal of resistances in general and retooling weakness from a 2x modifier to a simple +20 to your standard damage output makes deck building a bit better.
I tried to play TCG during the pandemic online and it's too complex for me now, like YuGiOh. Too many mechanics. I read they've both added and removed Fairy and Dragon type cards in the past few years too?
Fairy was added to the TCG in 2013/2014 with XY and were removed from the game in 2019/2020 with Sword & Shield for balancing reasons, past and future Fairy-types were grandfathered into the Psychic type.

Dragon-types technically never left, they were added to the TCG in back in 2012 and had periods where they weren't present in the game (The XY era didn't bring them back until Flashfire, the SWSH era didn't add them back in until Evolving Skies, and the SV era didn't add them back until Paldea Evolved).

Oh yeah. New games make it really easy to complete huge chunks of tje dex.

I do wish you did not have to Switch between Home on Switch and the Mobile App though. I really wish all features were in both.

I need to finish off my DP Dex. I hope when that add a reward for that it will sutomatically count.

Agreed, and the DLC makes it even easier by making certain hard-to-find Pokémon easier to track down. You want a Scizor? Well just fly over to the Canyon Biome and wander around for a bit and you'll find one, no Tera Raid den farming necessary!

I don't have that big of an issue with it, I just use the mobile app to keep track of Pokémon I need to put in and put up GTS trades.

If they ever do add one expect it to follow the same rules the Shiny Meloetta reward does, especially the one pertain to Pokémon needing to be from a specific game (in this case BDSP) rather than from any game in existance. The only rule I could see them not applying is regional differences due to them not being present in DPPt or BDSP.

Oh god if they force me to get SP I am going to hate it. I hope they only care about the Region. Mat Plat dex is 3 off.

This is a longshot, but does anyone know how to get a bad egg out of Home?
It was previously the AZ Floette... And it's on Box 1, so it's there whenever I use it. And I can't move it.

The good news aside, I've looked thru the HGSS beta stuff. New music was uploaded on TCRF, apparently the game used DP instruments for all the Johto tracks early on(and vice versa, in the later stages of development when HGSS instruments were used, the remaining placeholder Sinnoh tracks sounded completely different).
Some notes about the music:
*Some tracks were taken straight from GSC and simply given DP instrumentation
*There was originally a day/night difference for these tracks, altho the concept never got far. Only Azalea Town has a nighttime variant(which sounds similar to the FRLG Sevii Island tracks)

Speaking of which, here are some bangers I liked:
GSC Battle Theme directly ported and using DP instruments. I never knew I wanted this so bad

Azalea City (Day)

Azalea City(Nighttime, FRLG Composition)

Gym Theme(Very similar to DPP due to the same instruments used)

Ecruteak(Looks like another direct port from GSC, or perhaps it was written in mind for the new upcoming soundfont that would eventually end up being used in the final game)

Lastly, I checked out 8chan/v/ just to see if they found something, or are even talking about the leaks. Unsurprisingly, most of their thread is just them being ecstatic about the revelations of canon pokephilia and a lot of the thread is just pictures of that. Did you know that PLA already has a nude mod? I do now.
The thread is also very slow, as is 8chan in general. For reference, their thread barely has over 200 posts since the start of the Terraleak, where as /vp/ threads tend to max out bump limit(300 posts) in less than an hour. Dead, shit site filled with coomers, same people posting pokeporn there are probably the same people jacking off to their roadkill fucking general over at /zoo/.

Here is the original Giratina in full 3D on the Platinum beta title screen, similar to Dialga and Palkia for Diamond/Pearl
Pokemon_Platinum_20070717_Title.png
The used model in the final is of the new form

The scratchpad for Gen 3 brings about even more revelations for not just the process of creating the individual sprites, but also for alternative designs of the Pokemon that made it to the final build of the game.
First, the boring stuff. Some overall observation that can be deduced from the existing sprites:
*The transparency color was probably white for Pokemon originally
*The canvas for sprites used a smaller 56x56 size compared to the final 64x64
*Many older Pokemon use either the Gen 1 official art or Gold/Silver sprites for reference
*Gen 2 Pokemon were either done first or had least amount of revisions
*Animations originally looked more like they did in Crystal compared to the final release

Now for the interesting stuff, the alternative designs for Gen 3 Pokemon. Some of them also show more interactive original animations, probably aimed for the Emerald release.

Way too much to talk about here. I am more surprised that they even went as far as to try to actually recreate the extremely edgy art that was posted around the start of the leak. If you're into spriting, there is a whole bunch more technical details on the TCRF page as well, including leaked beta palettes

Some high quality concept art I found, either it's new or I didn't see it posted yet

Misc XY stuff:
*Mega Jynx was confirmed to be in the game files, as some of you may already know. The cry was leaked even before the Terraleak, altho many thought it was a hoax. Sadly, this form never got any artwork, models or a mega stone, showing how it would be scrapped rather early. It would have had Magic Guard and a massively increased SpA/SpD as well as minor increase to Defense and Speed
*Xerneas was originally a Dark Type and had Pressure Ability, before it got a Fairy makeover
*All three stages of Aegislash would originally have Stance Change Ability
*Sylveon had Synchronize instead of Cute Charm

There is Gen 1 leaks as well, covering every single corner of Pokemon history at this point.
Not much, just some early Yellow sprites...for now
Of note is that a cropped sprite for Magby, a Gen 2 Pokemon, present within the scratchpad for some reason. Gold/Silver and Yellow were being made at the same time so this wouldn't be out of place, but nobody knows what purpose that would serve in Yellow. Maybe bringing some baby Pokemon into the game to promote Gen 2 was planned?

Finished playing through the first gameboy color pokemon tcg game, I had the game as a kid and felt like revisiting it. It was lots of fun but pretty short. I’ll probably give the second tcg game a replay next, I vividly remember last playing it while the Destiny/Jontron ordeal was going on.

More stuff I found lurking around:

It should be noted that there is an unused cell in the final game that is the player's room, before they get isekai'ed. Here is how I think the intro would work:
*Professor Oak greets you, like in Gen 1 and 2, and you get to create your character
*Once you pick your gender/look, the screen zooms out to show your character
*They look at their smartphone, it shows something it wasn't supposed to
*Your TV sucks you in
*Game starts proper
They must have created the room the cutscene would take place in, but ran out of time to finish creating the actual cutscene

That last one is beta Dexio, whose design seems to have been recycled for Ace Trainers

Nothing new, but the original intro for Black and White has an unused Pokemon that I am sure no sprites exist for in any build. This is all we have

Not sure what this is, some sort of internal guide for artists?
1729470255770631.jpg

As an artist, that internat guide document is absolutely fascinating. I've always had a pet hobby in trying to dissect style guides for various series. Seeing notes on how to Pokemon-ify fucking Da Vinci is both completely surreal and absolutely incredible.

Oh god if they force me to get SP I am going to hate it. I hope they only care about the Region. Mat Plat dex is 3 off.
Yeah, this seems like the way they'll be doing these kinds of giveaways in the future since HOME can tell if a Pokémon came from the right game or not (with the reverse not being true to some extent, I used past games to fill all of my Switch games' Pokédexes).
This is a longshot, but does anyone know how to get a bad egg out of Home?
It was previously the AZ Floette... And it's on Box 1, so it's there whenever I use it. And I can't move it.
You can't, Bad Eggs in HOME are stuck by design (they only show up if a deposited Pokémon fails to pass HOME's hack checks) and Nintendo won't remove them from your account.
I liked it better when Dragon types were with Colorless. I like Fairy being separate though.
I honestly didn't, Colorless Dragon was either weak to other Colorless-types (leading to funny bits where a Normal-type could KO them) or lacked a weakness making them slightly unbalanced. Fairy being seperate was fun for a while but by late SM-era it had worn out its welcome and had become pain to work with.
That long already?!
Yep, Dragon-types were first introduced to the series in Dragons Exalted internationally and, in Japan, via the Dragon Selection/Dragon Vault mini-set.

Fun fact about those two sets: They both share a non-Rule Box Rayquaza that was perfect for breaking Rayquaza-EX/Eelektrik's bad matchup with Safeguard Pokémon and some mirrors. The only downside is that, due to Dragon Vault releasing in October, there was a two-month period in the International scene where the only version of the card that could be used was the Secret Rare print and that caused the price to reach the triple digits until then.

or lacked a weakness making them slightly unbalanced
I like that. Makes them tougher like Dragon type pocketmons tend to be in the core vidya.

Speaking of weak to Colorless, a fan card of Urayne* seen on the Uranium wiki is weak to Colorless, reflecting how the Nuclear types are weak to all but Nuclear in Uranium.

* (the legendary "box art" Nuclear type pocketmon in the Uranium fangame)

There is the new Nuclear type, which IIRC is weak to all but Nuclear (resists), and Nuclear is super effective on all but Nuclear and Steel (which resist). So in other words, it looks like the new Nuclear type is sorta like that new Shadow type from Colosseum and XD.

how'd that happen and what happened?
Fishing while surfing inside the dragon den.
I was afraid of a crash so I ran away.

(Later ir crashed anyway and I had to do the S S anne again.

Before the E4 first run, I caught a Gabige and trained it to level 60 in the victory cave to complete the team.

Yeah Bronzong is shit qnd since this hack doesn't add much new moves qnd there isn't unlimited uses tms, the movepool fucking sucks dick for almost all pokémon except kingler and garchomp

‘Dear can i have this Pokemon game for Christmas? The games implemented a thing where I have to get them from specific games, not just Regions. So my version of Diamond from 20 years ago does not work.’
‘Well that’s stupid’
- a future conversation I am likely to have
