Game Freak already admitted that their stuff was leaked. If they were smart they could make even more money by selling toys of some the rejected designs. There are some real bangers there. But of course that's not going to happen.

Why? You visit roughly 8-10 cities that are linked by singular routes. Many countries the games are based on can be traversed from top to bottom in less than a day with a motor, and maybe a couple weeks on foot

I think we all get that, lol, but I'm still pretty sure they were trying to double their market at the tail end of Poke Mania and appeal to little girls and not running a hentai club in the GF offices, lol. Perversions, preconceptions etc might play into it subconsciously, and they might try and make the girl "sexy" to their young male audience in the same way Misty was meant to be for kids my age, but I still think you're getting a little carried away reading into character designs.
 
Oh by the way, it's worth mentioning that according to Takeshi Shudo, when he wrote the anime novelization, it's explicitly mentioned that ten-year-olds in the Pokémon world are considered adults, and abandoning your family is normal because failed Pokémon trainers don't want to return home out of shame, so it's better to just up-and-vanish without another word. Hence Brock's father, who took years to come back out of hiding because he was ashamed of being a failure of a trainer while his hot wife bounces between hobbies like she's a whore.

Amazing collection

One of the things that I wish it was available was the full illustration for the pokemon TCG cards without the text, you could even add illustrator comments to make it even more complete. It would literally sell so damn much. I bet there are enough material that it could even be focused on a single artist who illustrate the cards and make an artbook of his sole work.

Does it say it's normal as in it's painted as common? Isn't that actually what they say happened to Ashes dad, not that everyone does it?

Gamefreak was trying to pander to the toddlercon market here and nobody will tell me differently. I've seen nobody but pedos talking about or posting this character.
They knew. Even now, when they swallowed the DEI pill, they know. They just have to adjust to the times.
Seriously, this is the dumbest and worst design for a trainer in the entire franchise. When they just plop a preschooler into the Elite 4 and call it a day, that's when the well has truly run dry.
You can tell your designs are shit when a fan favorite character is literally just a working Joe who has to work overtime on two jobs, at least he's relateable.

That's my understanding of the novel, that it was backstory for Ash. There's also a second novelisation by him that has a fan translation.

Pretty much. Delia also had Ash when she was 18, so she married young and he left on a journey before Ash could talk, leaving her to take over the family restaurant to make a living.

I’m fairly certain the opposite was true; that Butterfree was never connected to Venonat, even during the earliest betas available. My personal headcanon (and probably the intention) is that Butterfree is mimicking a poisonous monster predators would steer clear of, that being Venonat. The entire Caterpie line is based on a swallowtail butterfly, which is known for its mimicry of snakes as a caterpillar, and the designs are way too similar, so if it’s not swapping evo lines it’s mimicry.

I understand not showing unused Pokémon, because they want it to be more surprising if they use it properly, but beta designs never make sense to hide away. Imagine how well an artbook of a game’s dev work and art would sell, especially mixed with lore short stories and interviews.

Yup, that was the lore. Where and why do you think all the fan theories and speculation came from about some kind of war leaving mostly young people alive or other stuff came from? Those theories were part of the reason why they gave explanations like that i think.

Yup, when you hit that age, your parents give you some money and send you out to try and become the very best and catch em all. I mean for much of human history ~15 was adult and were already having families, especially in times where ~35-40 was old. But even reality has nothing on the pokemon world. lol

I thought this was a regular trainer you battle but wow it really is an elite four member.

She's also 9 years old. That is not how 9 year olds are drawn in the games normally. That archetype is reserved for literal preschoolers in the game.

see now I'm actually pissed at Pokemon because they're intentionally doing this to children and calling them nearly old enough to be considered adults in the pokemon lore while looking even more infantile than they already do.

When someone says adult you assume that it comes with all the abilities of an adult including sexual intimacy. This is fucking disgusting dude.

Its an inn I think, and that's how she meets Ashes dad, he stops in on his travels. You're right though in that he fails in becoming an E4 member.

Delia is on somewhat good terms with him though, she met up with him not long before Ash left the anime and he just missed him. It's odd for sure.
