How hard is it to just admit "Wow, that's fucked up. That shouldn't be in a children's IP, neither on the forefront or in the backbone."

Why do fandoms always act like this? This is an IP ruining leak. It has tainted the brand. Pokemon is for perverts. Pokeperverts.

This isn't some shitty remake of a classic movie with blackwashed characters made by cynical Blackrock funded assholes that can just be ignored and we all go back to enjoying the original, this isn't an author who had a weird or troubled sex life but kept it separate from his work, it's baked into the text of the canon and is a guiding principle part of it. It's not just some employees shitty slashfiction made on their own time either, it's overflowed into the actual games, "Some people marry their Pokemon." Half the people defending it are claiming that Pokemon has always been this way in deep lore and it's only "normies" and "tourists" discovering it for the first time that are pearl clutching over it. Kinda defeats the argument that it's not authorial intent when the same people are also arguing it's deep lore.

The rape shit is certainly something else, if it made it into the lore or anything.. which doesn't seem to have happened here. The marriage stuff, in the context of the lore (humans could still literally talk with pokemon like they can with each other at the time and naturally reproduce etc) of the past.. Isn't really a problem. Half the point was that humans were the same as pokemon, all brothers and sisters so to speak. All life was created by a pokemon (GOD) as a single class of lifeform.. but humans started evolving away from the rest at some point.

You also have to remember that a lot of this other lore, especially some of the darker shit.. has roots in japanese history and mythology. The sexual stuff too. I mean at worst it's on the level of Zeus fucking and knocking up a bunch of human women while in the form of animals etc. To look at it another way.


Still surprised it was typhlosion though.. And that the Hypno species hasn't been mentioned. We already have them canon stealing children and using their powers on humans for whatever they want etc. In fanfic and hentai they are a popular one too. ehh

It's a shame that it happens but again it's literally unavoidable. You would have to fire the majority of artists. Most cartoon/game artists are nasty horndogs who draw porn and vile shit.

This is a dumb take. children aren't going to see that shit. Maybe they will if you give them unfettered access to the internet (which is your fault if they do), but they will never see it until at least 18 if you don't. You can say they can be exposed to it before then, but that's more an issue with people not parenting correctly than anything else. There is millions of pokemon porn images online already. From a purely logical standpoint, there's nothing wrong with that. If the Pokemon is able to communicate and understand the complex notion of what it means to consent to sex, there is nothing wrong with a Pokemon being in a relationship with a human. It would be no different from an alien species (eg a Predator) fuckin with a human. Pokemon have been shown to be able to communicate with humans in different series.

"Pokemon rape children" and "humans marry Pokemon" are so far removed from each other anyway. Some Pokemon are very humanlike so you could justify marrying like a gardevoir (but you should be put on a registry for it) but like... Raping children is so far of a bridge too far that it's like the Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge except I'm trapped in Zeno's dichotomy paradox.

I've always hated how Graveler lost its cool extra arms and turned into a generic reptilian monster when it evolved.

Same shit with Carkol, it drops the coal minecart theme and just becomes a generic monster like Rhydon, Kangaskhan and the Nidos.
