I finally managed to evolve my ratatta, 12 levels later than it should have been.

I've caught everything that can be caught thus far ('cept for feebas, @Sailor_Jupiter helped with that) so it's all good.

My only complaint thus-far is that the trials have been boring and easy...but I've only done 3, so maybe it'll get better?

I'm making water spiders to see if they'll trade online.

Today I got 3 shiny Pokemon added to my horde of them I've been collecting since Gen III. Dhelmise, Mimikyu, and Midday Lycanrock. Got them all via a very fast-paced series of trades on GTS to grab them before anyone else could.
What does shiny Mimikyu look like?

was trying to find alolan vulpix and chain for a shiny female again. ended up running into my second random encounter shiny in Sun: shiny Absol. this game is absolutely fucking with me at this point.

I would kill for a shiny Absol. Don't know if you're willing to trade, but let me know if there's anything you want for that.

Anyway, I just discovered how much of a nightmare it is to get a Weavile in this game pre-Pokemon Bank. The Razor Claw you need to evolve Sneasel apparently is only found as a wild hold item off the Jangmo-o line. 5% chance of even meeting a Jangmo-o, followed by a 5% chance of it actually having the Razor Claw. I think that was even worse than the Mareanie grind for me. I eventually ended up just going to the GTS and throwing my shit nature Tapu Koko at some chucklefuck with a Sneasel holding a Razor Claw. (And of course I have to make it worse for myself by trying to breed four different egg moves onto the damn thing, which requires four different breeding cycles because all the moves come from different Pokemon.)

I'm about to do the Ghost trial. I've also got about a quarter of the Zygarde cells/cores (and still need to go back through Melemele), so I'll finally be getting 10% Zygarde either tonight or at some point tomorrow.

I also finally picked a final team member. As of right now, my team consists of: Decidueye, Slowpoke, Growlithe, Charjabug, Mudsdale, and Cleffa. I also finally bothered to use a Z-move; I like them, but it still feels a bit like a win button for unskilled players.

Just based on what I've seen so far, I really hope we get Sun 2/Moon 2 (a la Black and White) in a year or two. It's been a blast so far.

so my experience thus far:
- i managed to beat the pokemon league with a party of five pokemon: drifblim, salazzle, midday lycanroc, aloan ninetales, and incineroar. let me tell you how fun the
rock
member of the elite four was with such a stellar type coverage.
- UBs are not actually that hard to catch in normal Pokeballs, if you're some kind of faggot like me who thinks they're more aesthetically-pleasing than the Beast Balls
- fuck Xurkitree
- the customization options for your trainer in this game are absolute shit compared to x/y. i know that the clothing in Alola is supposed to be for the warm weather, but it's all so boring
- i actually really quite like the music for this game. i've not said that about any music from Pokemon since RSE.

that's pretty much all i got so far. might add if i remember anything else.

The music is actually really, really great. It's probably the best, most memorable soundtrack since Gold/Silver/Crystal. I've also been a bit underwhelmed by the trainer customization options, although I'm far more excited than I should be about the fact that I don't have to wear a hat.

I also find it hilarious that we can no longer sit on benches or chairs, but can climb into strangers' beds and sniff them. :achievement:

Did you sit in Guzma's chair right after you beat him in the Team Skull hideout?

Yeah, I agree, the customization in SM sucks compared to XY's customization options. Otherwise, it's been a good ride so far. I'm taking my time with thing, and just managed to get UB-02's part of the sidequest done. So far, managed to get good natures on the UBs I've captured, and if anyone needs a Buzzwole, I've got one Adamant, and one Jolly.

So those of you who have beaten the game and got into post-game know about talking to Gladion gives you a Type: Null, but I also kinda wanted to talk about how he mentions his father was sucked into a wormhole and that's what started Lusamine's crazy obsession with Ultra Beasts.

Now I somehow bypassed this earlier in the adventure, but down in Secret Lab A there's a book talking about a Professor Mohn that was working with the worm holes. It doesn't say what happened to him, but Mohn is the name of the man in the raft on Poke' Pelago, who also has blonde hair and green eyes just like Lusamine, Gladion, and Lillie.

So, I'm kind of assuming Mohn is the father of Lillie and Gladion who got pulled into a worm hole and is now living in a raft hut at sea.Obviously this is just a theory more than anything, as Mohn doesn't say anything about a family life (or really even socialize at all), can't talk to Lillie or Lusamine because they're not in Alola anymore, and Gladion doesn't say anything beyond how his father disappeared. Nothing in-game confirms the speculation, at least not that I'm aware of.

Bulbapedia does list him as the father of the kids and estranged husband o Lusamine, though, so perhaps mentioning him as the professor in that book was enough confirmation.

I'm at the Team Skull hideout in Po Town right now. No chair spoilers!

You can also sit in Hala's chair. I may try sitting in chairs a little too much.
The chair/bed stuff is great bonus stuff.

I've got some Riolus to trade if anybody's got anything good.

They're a pain in the ass to catch this gen, they love using Final Gambit and killing themselves in my experience. Not sure how they/Lucario act in previous games because I've never cared about catching them until this gen.

Wild Pokemon(Except the Ultra Beasts) pretty just just spam one of their moves at random no matter how ineffective it is, it's been like that since 1st gen, and is probably fluff-wise supposed to show that without a trainer a Pokemon has no idea how to fight properly(Even the trainers of 1st Gen, despite quite a few hiccups, had some sort of strategy algorithm that wild Pokemon do not possess)

In it's debut in Gen IV Riolu was exclusively a Gift(plus Final Gambit didn't exist yet anyways). In Gen V and VI wild Riolu were not a high enough level to know Final Gambit(In fact in B2W2 you can get one before your first badge). So this is solely a Gen VII problem.

They definitely boosted trainer AI though in Sun/Moon. I kept noticing actual strategy and planning when I fought.

Considering Anabel lost almost all her memories after being transported through an Ultra Wormhole, my guess is Mohn's probably suffering from amnesia.

That's true; I did, admittedly, forget about Anabel not long after the UB catching quests since she didn't leave much of an impact. Certainly not a far-fetched idea for Mohn to be Lusamine's husband who lost his memories after getting transported through a wormhole.

It would've been pretty cool if they absolutely confirmed Mohn being the husband and if there was some way to at least hint to his family that he was alive, if not reunite them altogether. But if his memories of them are borked then I suppose there'd be no point in a reunion since it'd be a disappointment on the family.

EDIT:
I don't know how it didn't click before, but is the Anabel here in Alola really the same Battle Frontier Brain Anabel from the animated series? The one who spoke to Poke'mon and had a crush on Ash? Because the two have the same name, purple hair, similar hair style, and purple eyes.

I really doubt Anime!Anabel is in SuMO. Looker mentioned Anabel arrived in the Alola region with the memories of her Battle Tower being attacked. This Anabel is probably from the pre-gen VI universe Zinnia alluded to in ORAS.

But yeah, by the time we pieced together Mohn is alive and well, Lillie was having fun as a trainer and her mom's slowly recovering. Would be a bad idea to drop a bombshell like that so suddenly when the family was starting to piece their lives back together.

Lillie's probably gonna appear again at some point. My guess is Game Freak may pull a BW2 and let you transfer your SuMo data to Stars (or whatever the name will be).

On that note, I remember there being cut content from BW2 showing the PC from BW1 was supposed to be in the PWT, but it was cut for some reason. They made Professor Kukui the champion, so I'm hoping SuMo's PC can show up again too.

that bitch lillie better pay fucking child support feeding a lion that's over 500 fucking pounds isn't cheap
