Everyone forgets the Gen 3 cards when they did shiny pokemon right. No idea when they started backsliding on them but "radiant" pokemon just sounds retarded compared to just putting a shiny star next to their name with art of the shiny version and giving them the same treatment as the current UR alternate art trainer cards like they used to.
Gen 2 Shinies were more of a collectable rarity than practical, some had almost decent attacks but were also poorly unbalanced by their insane energy cost since you were able to play them at any point.
Still, the only card worse than them that comes in my mind is Neo genesis Lugia, that one was absolutely unplayable, with the need of 3 specific energies and to discard them to deal not even 100 damage.
Speaking of which, why the fuck is a psy/flying and not water/flying?

Pokerogue is pretty fun.

It does learn Light of Ruin, I noticed the game said "Floette is now available as a starter" and I feel like I shouldn't have access to this thing after just my first run.

Edit: Yep, it's a starter.

Everything becomes a starter once you’ve obtained it at least once. As for me, I hatched a Hoopa which became my new main. Great starting moves, and its ability that lets you steal a Pokemon’s held item upon attacking it is hilarious when you realize there’s no limit to how many items a single Pokemon can hold. Unfortunately, I lost to the final boss, and I was just one or two hits away. If you want a piece of advice…
You can find a Tinkatink/Tinkaton/Tinkatuff in the Ruins biome. Catch it by any means necessary. Just trust me.

You didn't even have to tell me to catch the hammer fairy. It's location is more than enough. I fucking love Tinkaton. It's the single best designed Pokemon of the most recent generation.

Also, I know that IVs are aggregated. How about natures? How does that work with starters? Never mind. Figured it out. It's under the picture frame of the Pokemon itself.

PokeRogue is pretty fun, but I think every single loss has been to a sudden massive difficulty spike. Even the Minecraft splash text jokes about them. My last one was against the Floor 30 boss. All of her Pokemon were just 6-7 levels higher than mine and none of them evolved so I had absolutely no avenue of victory. I had even gotten SUPER lucky with bonus EXP charms and everything. Most of the time my item luck is absolute dogshit and I get Pokeballs and worthless berries every drop.

This feels kind of like Vampire Survivors where I'm going to play it a lot for like 3 days and then never touch it again.

My first run, I made it to floor 120? before finally falling. My last run last night ended at I believe 140 losing out to a poison type gym leader. All of my other attempts in between ranged from floors 20-50 but I had focused more on catching Pokemon than pushing to higher floors. I haven't experienced the bad luck you've described.

I think the early progression strategy for an account revolves more around catching Pokemon to fill out your starter choices and fishing for good natures for those Pokemon. Eternal Floette has been putting in work for me thanks to its fully evolved BST and I've caught/hatched enough Pawmi to start a run with a near perfect IV Adamant Pawmi with Parting Shot. Later when Revival Blessing is implemented, that little bastard is gonna be my medic.

My last run, I picked up a Masterball on floors 10-20. I was worried about losing the thing but I did find that Tinkaton to use it on. I also got my first shiny Pokemon. It was a Combee... a male... Combee.... :lossmanjack:

I think you can catch a female Combee and that unlocks a shiny female? Worth a shot.

Also, in case you didn’t know, three random starters every day have a purple frame around them on the starter select screen, meaning they have Pokerus, and every 10th wave it has a chance of spreading to the rest of your team. A free 1.5x EXP boost for the entire run is huge.

Currently in the early 150s. The rival fight was way harder than the gym.

Edit: Lost on 195 with her on her final mon and only a sliver of hp remaining. Unlocked my favorite mon line of all time for starters though at least. Absolutely fucking GOT her op legendary with him.

I guess I'm just fuckin' cursed or something. The title screen even claims Risk of Rain 2 influence but I've only ever gotten actual passive items like 3 times, ever. There's definitely potential for crazy power cascading but I think you have to not be the Fallout 2 Pariah Dog like I am with -10 luck.

Shiny number 2.

Legendary Egg.png
Also, a Legendary egg. I doubt it'll be Shiny but stranger things have happened. All I know is, a Legendary starter Pokemon can be a game changer. (I did research on Shiny Pokemon in this game. For those that don't know, they increase your luck on your runs. That's why I'm dumping all my tickets in the Shiny gatcha.)

Edit:
Zacian.png
Yeah, I'd say that's pretty good. Also, Bitter Blade egg move because Zacian needed lifesteal. :story:

Edit 2:

According to fags on /vp/, pokerogue's creator is extremely gacha-brained and it shows in design philosophy and the way the game keeps getting more gacha-brained and grindy with updates

I was no the only one who planned on demaking SV.
From what I see, th is not a hack, but homebrew... probably made in GB Studio.
They also said that what you see is what you get. They are not going to make anything more than this effective demo.

You're not the only one. Furthest I've ever gotten was past stage 20. The rival character kicked my ass with her Pidgeotto, meanwhile none of my starters had evolved by that point.

My last playthrough i kept encountering Paldean Blaze Tauros whom seem to just crush my team with Tackle + Work Up. Couldn't get any other items besides potions to make sure my team wouldn't die so quickly.

I'd really appreciate it if the developers of this "game" kept their in-game-mechanic sperging to a minimum or had an option to skip the tutorials. I get that most people are extremely fucking retarded these days given why this site exists in the first place.

However, Its really fucking obvious that defeating pokemon or trainers will drop random items and money and they shouldn't be continuing to point this shit out 5 battles in and no fucking shit a pokemon's current status is persistent. Its the same way in the main games too until you reach a pokemon center or heal with items. Its also hella gay that the AI gets to cheat and always go twice in a row even when your pokemon has double their speed stat, no speed debuffs, and they aren't using priority moves like quick attack.

If they must do that kind of sperging, at least do it on something not blatantly obvious, like the non descriptive symbols for physical/non-physical moves and the difference between them. Or Priority moves. Because that actually matters in battles.
