accusations that Cynthia was supposed to be Ainu and that Legends: A was an overt reference to Japanese imperialism, but they never said shit either. It seems to me that we're expected to accept that Pokemon is a fictional world where our real-life social concepts mean nothing and I'm fine with that.
PLA was literally about Japan taming the wilds of Ezo (now Hokkaido), thats like saying Valiant Hearts wasn't in a WWI setting. It was, it just was.

News dropped yesterday, the Pokémon company created a new subsidiary.

The hopeful speculation is they will help bug fix and get the games in a better state. The worst case is they just work on toys or some other dumb shit and never help work on the games.
Apparently the address for the company just so happens to be in the same building with ILCA, and the trademark registration for them involves digital programming and other vidya related topics. I'm leaning towards them being a name laundering scheme for any upcoming remakes.

Someone in the Metokur thread linked a pretty interesting retsupurae of a Pokemon White playthru
Here is a spoiler: Aside from actual aspergers the player has, it has an interesting...gimmick.
BTW the videos are not only still up, but the playthru was completed(over a course of several years) and the channel is still active, with a new video being released today. Here is a playlist of the entire let's play:
Truly, the Pokemon LPs have evolved...not sure they should have.

Invidious embeds don't really work on TOR, but I know exactly what one this is. So many classic moments. the gasp when he makes a comment about her shorts, the dawning realization that it actually is him doing the voice and especially the screech at the end. Definitely a classic and one of my favorites.

So question.
SV + DLC physical release, do you have to download all of the 2nd dlc or is the download just a version update that allows the game to flag that part of the dlc that is already on the disc?

finished Clear Crystal today. the Elite Four in that version is a bunch of OCs but hearing 8-bit remixes of some good Nintendo songs was pretty cool.

not sure what Pokemon game i tackle next when the iche comes back. it was either a ROM hack called Black and White three (heard its Black and White two but in gen 2 format) or Pokemon Coliseum (never played the original. only XD)

Sorry for replying two weeks late, but Pokemon has been somewhat "progressive", especially as the franchise started getting more inspiration from non-Japanese regions. IDK if it's purely for EDI/ESG or just because they know that the brand has a worldwide fanbase though.

I will give the Pokemon company points for trying to keep everything neutral and seldom (if ever) commenting on big social issues. For example, there's a lot more dark-skinned characters in the games and XY introduced a minor tranny character (at least in the English version; a Beauty trainer says they used to be a Black Belt). When people complained that Nessa, a dark-skinned Galarian gym leader was being "whitewashed" by fans because she's a "nigger", the Pokemon company said nothing. They didn't even confirm if Nessa is "black" or even "brown"... we only know is that she's dark-skinned from a fictional place that isn't a real equivalent to U.K (Galar).

There was similar speculation about Geeta being Pajeet-coded (nothing confirmed, and wouldn't make sense for a Mexico or Iberian-inspired region) or accusations that Cynthia was supposed to be Ainu and that Legends: A was an overt reference to Japanese imperialism, but they never said shit either. It seems to me that we're expected to accept that Pokemon is a fictional world where our real-life social concepts mean nothing and I'm fine with that.
I agree with 'progession'.

Gen 1 already had many girls whose competence level is on the same level that boys have. Even then, they do not always fit with neat 'boxes': while Erika is a Yamato Nadoshiko and Misty was a Tomboy, Sabrina was more self-restrained and serious, dominating yet pacifist. Meanwhile, Lorelei was a professor, whereas Agatha managed to be a Blood Knight even in her advanced age, defying preconceptions about being old. Also, Lt Surge and maybe a few of his gym trainers were from the United States (which would make him a foreigner, since Kanto is based off Nippon), yet he is put on the same level of the other, native leaders. They also had fat characters who were not mocked because of their weight and were on the same level of trainers of other body types.
Gen 2 kept going wi the variety o female trainers, though now your player character could be female. There were also bikers who were no thugs in Cycling Road. Chuck was also rather fat, something that his wife mocked, but his belly is actually accurate to those who are strong in a practical way instead of being bodybuilders. Pryce was also ld, bu that was in context of giving him an 'experienced elder' appearance.
Gen 3 got rid of the sexism that plagued Gen 2's Pokémon, since gender came from the personality value instead of IVs. Another part was actually having the father of the protagonist present in the game. More to the point, Phoebe was the first non-Asian trainer of colour, since she appears Polynesian. Watson was fat and old, but fun and knowledgeable; one of his Gym Trainers actually liked hi shiny forehead. Pokémon Colosseum also officially had a region based off the United States; that game also had female bodybuilders. Gen 3 is also the start of things possibly getting too 'diverse', since breeding Pokémon actually benefits from incest.
Gen 4 also had a 'tough biker with a soft center', but otherwise kept going wi the patterns from previous games. Gen 4's 'too diverse' moment was an allusion to bestiality being normal back then.
Gen 5 actually had a game based off the United States, which meant plenty of African characters, including Lenora nd Marshall. Lenora was even altered because she appeared to be a 'mammy', but in context she was actually a studious archaeologist who definitely shows her knowledge in battle while being proactive. There is also an embracing of the future, down to Alder believing tha the future is in believing in the newer generation instead of sticking wi the ideas of old, which is progressive in tradition-honouring Nippon. Gen 5's 'too diverse' moments are the gay/lesbian allusions in the Ferris Wheel.
Gen 6 is based on France. Moreover, Shauna is another person of color, whereas Tierno is fat. (Then again, fat rainers are common a this point.) Gen 6's 'too diverse' moment was the transgender Battle Maison trainer.
Gen 7 is based on Hawai'i, which means a lot more Polynesians.
Gen 8 is based on th entire United Kingdom, not just England. The rival and Champion are also African.
Gen 9 is based on the Iberian Peninsula with some references to Latin America in general. That means a lot more Hispanics and Latinos. Gen 9's 'too diverse' moment is the 'gender neutral' references to the protagonists.

@The Ultimate Ramotith if you're looking for "too diverse" moments then you can't forget the Gen 5 ferris wheel events.
Excuse me and thank you. There was a lot of stuff through these games; I missed a few.
Speaking of diverse, I have a few comments on several hacks, starting with Pokémon Black and White 3.

Pokémon Black and White 3: The more I look a this hack, the more I notice how badly this hack is constructed. Aside from @I_Lurk_Here 's comment on how the songs either were badly translated or simply do not fit GBC hiptune, the hack also has quite a few mis-spelling errors and a lot of unused stuf from the original ROM. In fact, I suspec tha the ROM hacker would have caugh that glitch which broke the game if one of your Pokémon has Pokérus had the ROM hacker taken the time in cleaning up any unused stuff, since the trigger of this glitch was Professor Elm calling the protagoinst on th existence of Pokéres. The mechanisms of this hack are als old by ROM hack standards: I could implement a faster save mechanism with no fus simply by following one of the tutorials a the pokecrystal repository! I feel that many other improvements can be implemented from the tutorials, too. (Also, I feel that any full-scale hack should be decapitalised these days. Just look at Pokémon Coral.)
@I_Lurk_Here's comment on how the first woke moments of this hack se the tone of the rest of the hack happened to be right, just not in the way w expected.

Pokémon Super Gold 97: @30+GameOvers commented tha this hack mainly kep the final Elite 4. I found tha this goes even farther; this hack actually does a lot of 'inaccuracies' from the original, since they worked backwards from final Pokémon Crystal. This came from someone who wanted to make a more accurate hack:
However, the ROM hacker outright admitted to a lack of experience in assembly, which shows: I could not build this until I commented out Aeroblast, a move that does not exist in this hack but does in the final game, from th Encore moves, and even then I could tell tha the sine function is broken. Th extra text borders are also glitched. While I plan on fixing the sine problem soon, I attached a build that at least has faster saving.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet demakes: I started building the foundation work again, but my 'do a lot of things at once between builds' approach and misuse of 'Replace All in All Opened Documents' resulted in a mess. I am doing things more carefully this time.

You will never get those codes (way to excommunicate yourself, SS), and will be labelled a "racist" if you want to change the sprite skin colors from a set (diverse) bunch of blacks and browns.

Crystal Legacy by SmithPlaysPokemon looks to be a superior hack, ngl.

What kind of OCs?

I am looking forward to Crystal Legacy, though I would rather wait until he finishes his Yellow Legacy and Emerald Legacy, since I wan to play them in series.

Has anyone ever played Polished Crystal?
...not yet, though I already wen thorugh its ource code quite a bit.

Slowly doing my own run of the game myself, though at the moment I'm torn between keeping Meganium or dropping it for Vileplume. Leech Seed and a higher speed is nice, but Vileplume gets Spore and Crunch to go with Growth.

i used Meganium last time i played. just found a chikorita at random and had a spot for a grass-type. it was better then i expected since it could heal itself with synthesis and giga drain. you were not allowed to use items fighting elite four so that was useful. also pretty bulky for being a grass type and has reflect to back it up.

would still pick Vileplume though cause Spore is just THAT good and Crunch with Growth sounds like a sick combo.

I'll be looking into that then. Rest of the team is Gyarados (it gets Fly and Aeroblast which is big), Gengar, Cloyster (found a good Shellder while surfing and I wanted a Water type that uses that STAB, and getting Megahorn is pretty nice), Golem, and Ampharos.

Considering swapping someone for Machamp since it gets Mach Punch and Shadow Ball though. Any recommendations?
