I've been trying to get into RNG so I think I can answer this from the mechanics side.

Every Pokemon has a hidden value called a PID and this value is directly linked to the Pokemon's exact IVs, nature, ability, shininess and gender. If any of these are modified, it will cause a PID mismatch and result in an invalid checksum, therefore an illegal Pokemon. The only way to avoid getting this warning is to replace the PID with one that has the IVs, nature, etc. you want, but that's easier said than done so most hackers don't bother. PKHex's legality checker is also much more complex than the official legality checkers in Home and Bank and will pick up on these things whereas the official ones will only respond to obvious hacks like unobtainable moves.
I see. Does that also apply when for instance you put in a cheat code for all pkmn you encounter to be shiny and then catch one? In this case I haven't changed anything about the pkmn in question after catching it.

I'm not sure as I've never used cheat codes, but I assume a shiny cheat code would work by forcing the game to generate a shiny PID, so there wouldn't be a mismatch unless you were to catch a shiny-locked Pokemon.

Correct. I remember trying to change the IVs and nature of a mon during my first ever nuzlocke just to make it at least usable, and getting the warning that there was a mismatch. I think I was playing FRLG, at the time.

There is an application on Project Pokémon that allows you to check which PID is needed to perfectly edit your mon with getting that little red triangle, but even it felt a tad convoluted to use.

the story of almost every "core series" pocketmons game:

Start in home town, meet a professor named after tree, get starter 'mon (almost always fire, grass, or water types), go out on an unsupervised adventure, get gym badges, thwart the local villain team and their boss, defeat the rival, take on the 四天王 and champion, become champion, then the possible postgame stuff? Also, a big legendary.

At least there have been unique stories, like the plots of Colosseum and XD.

Since this is the only real relevant thread, I just want to vent about Niantics nonsense regarding Origin Palkia and Dialga.

What the fuck is with the cost on their Adventure Abilities, and what sane person would even use "Roar of Time" over just buying another lucky/piece/incense?

5 candy of a legendary Pokémon, which mind you, raiding is the only way to consistently get them and if remotes are your only option, they cost cold hard cash to get, same goes for rare candies, and 5k stardust, which isn't a lot but without weather boosts or bonus dust species is effectively 50 fucking catches. If you pinap the legendaries, that's effectively $2 a use, $4 a use without the pinap, then fucking stardust. Why would I spend $2 to get 12 more minuets on any applicable item when it costs less to fucking buy another one?

Spacial Rend is so close to being really fucking awesome, a spawn range boost would be useful as fuck when I'm actively out playing, but again, $2-$4 for 10 fucking minutes of range extension. Make it an hour, bare fucking minimum, or eat my ass you hack frauds.

After years of ducking Generation II, I have finally finished Crystal! Playing through it, I began to understand the nostalgia-ridden hype the generation/games have garnered for years, but it still felt like a slog, at times. Most egregiously, the level curves... Man, oh, man. However, I decided to make this first playthrough at least somewhat more memorable by patching in the "Crystal 251 " enhancement.

The patch does as its name suggests and makes it possible to obtain every Pokémon in Gen II. It works in the GS Ball event, changes trade/gift Pokémon events so you can get those elusive trade evos without suffering, and has neat static encounters for some trade evos as well—there is a Machamp in Mt. Mortar close to where you can find the Karate King, for instance; the Ilex Forest and Burned Tower have wild Chikoritas and Cyndaquils, respectively. There are also some changed items in stores, but that's about all. It does not change the trainers' teams or levels, but that's not its purpose, anyway.

All's well that ends well! I'm going to start up SoulSilver and nuzlocke it.

That's odd. Can you log in to your old account using another device? To clear up if it's a phone thing or an account thing. I haven't played the game in years so I'm just brainstorming.
So turns out Pokemon Go is one of those annoying apps where it absolutely NEEDS Google Play Services to not only be on'n'active, but also updated to the latest version, which at the time of typing this is 24.07.13.

I had something similar happen to me on the Uber Driver app, and their support couldn't figure it out either. Should have put 2 and 2 together but now I know, and thankfully Pokemon Go is working for me again.

You would think it would be any other generation since that has been relatively recent.
No. Kalos is the most undeveloped. And unlike most others the events of the past straight tie into the game of XY.

And really Kalos is not that recent. It’s only one game away from getting remakes.

And XY were the games where they said ‘we planned to do things different’

So getting LegendZ instead of remakes would fit

I’m just glad it’s another Legends game. Mean I won’t suffer with getting trades.

There wasn't one interesting thing in that entire Pokemon Presents. It was an aggressively boring, corporate piece of shit from beginning to end.
