The Shiny rates for the new Mass Outbreaks released today have been discovered and it functions a bit differently than one would think, it's applied as a 0.5% initial chance upon spawning with the 99.5 remainder having the usual Shiny rate and the various multipliers you can add on (Shiny Charm, clearing 30-60 Pokémon from a specific Mass Outbreak, and Sparkling Power LV. 3).
It's honestly pretty decent, it's not as often as GO's Community Day's chances (1/25 chance) but it's enough to satisfy some people.
Stonehenge became a goofy looking useless rock type i forgot about it even existed until now, when I was trying to remember if the monument got referred to in the game.
As a TCG player I can at least say that Stonjourner has some presence in the meta despite being goofy-looking, Stonjourner VMAX was an annoying rogue deck when it was Standard-legal and Single Strike Stonjourner is a common 1-Prizer in current Lugia VSTAR/Archeops decks.
It seems way less based on the region than previous games have been. If I didn’t know it was Spain because they told us it was I would not know it was based on it.
I would have said SW/SH is the worst but they had Windon. So I could at least get what it was trying to be.
It was a horrible region. Probably my least favorite.
Based on the Box Legendaries and the backstory of the game, the UK is actually the perfect setting. And they did nothing with it.
Despite the fact the King Arthur and it’s monarchy are things known.
The internet memeing Girl MC as Scottish and Boy MC as Londoner was about the most flavorful the games got while making sense…
The fact that Looker isn’t in the game when we are known for our police and he looks like a Doctor from Doctor Who is beyond me. That was the reason the internet memed him into being British in the first place. He was a police officer that looked like the 10th Doctor and just so happened to jump through space and time. And yet he is nowhere. Despite Who being something the UK is very known for. Despite the plot almost being tailor made for him to show up. It’s real odd.
Hawaii and Alola are the same, they even added the Rainbow tower to the panorama and the guardian deitys resembling the tribal statues of real patrons was genius in terms of worldbuilding.
They not only have police offices but authority buildings and other public Institutions like a disposal company. So much detail on such a small map.
Galar has nothing like this and in paldea you can't even enter clothing stores.
Wyndon has a good view but nothing more, it's London during lockdown, four hallways and one gym where the most boring battles in the universe take places.
Those aren't maps to resemble a real world, those are designed to shove in the bare minimum.
The bagpipe music in the wild area is depressing instead of making you fired up for adventure, Masuda knew what he was doing here.
The Plot is boring even by Pokémon Standards. I still dont get Roses motives and Eternatus should have been an ancient swamp dragon instead of big bad from outta space discount ultra necrozma.
Y no Dr. Moriarty or corrupted soccer manager villain?
Total Galar death tbh.
Also why does Chewtle exist? It looks like a retarded zoomer who faps in the staff rooms during his shift at target.
Because the series needed a water turtle. You know, because that's never been a thing before.
I was going to say that they couldn't really research the UK on-location due to the lockdowns. Then I looked it up and realized the games came out in 2019.

Gen 7 is my favorite Gen honestly. I just wish USUM had let you choose between doing Mantine or not. If USUM just had that change and did not completely screw up the good story that SM had the games would have been perfect.

I realise how I would have done the game now actually. I would have done 4 ‘Islands’ like Alola and just cut the wild into pieces to cover those areas
So you get England, Wales and Scottland as distinct areas to go through and a fourth area being the Pokemon version of Avalon. For Post Game
3 gyms for each Region, 2 for the UK (maybe some Alola Style Mini Challenges) as London would have the League also and then Avalon would be the Post Game Area. Because those areas usually now are strange and have Legendary Catching in em. A magical wizard area explains the howcto that. But also kust pack it with strong retired champions for it’s Battle Tower esc thing. As Avalon is where Champions rest.
Give each area a member of a Legendary Trio themed on it. Avalon gets the Box Legend or Eternatus.
Seeiously, modelling the entire plot off King Arthur works so well for a UK Region and they don’t do anything with it.
As is with SWSH I get the feeling they didn’t really feel comfortable commiting to what they wanted to do free roaming and base game suffered as a result.
Why do they even visit the locations if the regions don't look like the real places? It's pointless.
I guess gamefreak having a blast with spanish prostitutes is the origin of meowscarada and they learned western world loves their globohomo stuff.
All thi stuff about what Galar could be just motivates me more.
I would still start with a straight port called 'Pokémon Dagger' and 'Pokémon Scute', bu then I would probably do a 'Pokémon Dagger and Scute Plus', or whatever a third version of 'Pokémon Sword and Shield' would be named, that implements those changes.
I actually miss the third versions more and more as time goes on, starting with X/Y. They were essentially modern "ultimate" or GOTY editions of games with all the DLC but you were unable to purchase it separately. I'm not pretending it wasn't just them jewing more money from kids' pockets but they usually had enough to make a replay more than worth it, along with whatever notions you had to finally do a particular thing that gen on a fresh play through.

The added content seemed more worth the 30 for a new game. With SWSH and SV the DLC just doesn’t feel like that. Everything feels sectioned and self contained, the QoL features seem locked to certain areas instead of being available in the base area.
I did not like USUM story stuff but something about it felt at least big enough to pay for it.
And that’s what’s real odd about SV…it’s new content is clearly as much as older games. But it just doesn’t feel the same.
Maybe it’s the fact they clearly had it planned from the jump making it feel like we shpuld have always had it as opposed to early games being ‘while making it we ran out of time/changed our mind on some things and over a period got feedback so here is a better version’, maybe it’s the fact that despite it being planned and everything clearly being one plot SV Teal Mask sends you to the area with 3 nobodies that do nothing instead of the 3 friends you made in the base game that have a vested interest in what’s happening.
Something about DLC just feels disconnected to me.

The teal mask dlc really did hurt from having the three retards. The last story was the only thing approaching competence because of the interactions that honestly should have been happening the whole game and their first DLC was a perfect chance to put them together for more. The only issue? They needed it to be accessible from any point in the game and thus you couldn't have them there. I know I was confused when we didn't see any of them and instead get left with Tsundere Chick and her whiny little brother.
Mark my words: Indigo Disc won't have much of the three supporting characters at the Unova Academy and I can only see a small bone being thrown their way at most in the return to Area Zero.

Yes. Nitter is a frontend of X; anything that disappears from X also disappears from Nitter.
I like Nitter better because of it stability and ability of being archived.

This conviniently leaves 39 extra slots in the Dagger/Scute Pokédex.
Most are just official evolutions or taken fro my not-really-theoretical demake of Scarlet and Violet, but here are the new reasonings:
Since Galarian Weezing is less poisonous compared to Kantonian Weezing, I figure that I give Kantonian Weezing the Poison Stone volution. The same applies t Overqwil.
Instead of dealing with ALTernate formes, I either merged them or made them separate. In Darumaka's case, only Unovan Normal Darumaka gets the LV-based evolution, with Zen Darumaka getting the Moon Stone, since Psychic-types tend to have had a strong space motif. (The same is the reason why Stantler evolves into Wyrdeer wi the Moon Stone.) Meanwhile, Galarian Daruma Darmanitan, being on fire, gets the Fire Stone.
The Link Cable replaces all trade-based evolutions.
I wanted to have Galarian Slowbro to have the sam evolution method that Kantonian Slowbro have.
Galarian Slowking, getting a Poison typing, gets the Poison Stone, instead.
I wanted Shellder to also evolve into that cut Pokémon that had the spiral Shellder on Slowpoke's tail. Since Cloyster is an Ice-type while my idea of Turban is not, I gave Turban the Water Stone while Cloyster gets the Ice Stone.
Sinc evolution per LV and time simultaneously do not exist in the old games, I gave Obstagoon its closest equivalent. That also applies to both Sneasel.
Baby Meowth's evolution woul determine the forme. Normally, baby Pokémon evolve through friendship, which applies to Kantonian Meowth. However, since Galarian Meowth is more combat-oriented, Galarian Meowth gets a LV-based evolution. On Alolan Meowth, since I did not want any redundant evolutions... I decided to give Alolan Meowth the most annoying leveling method, which fits how spoiled Alolan Meowth is.
The LV 33 refers to the 3 critical hits Galarian Farfetch'd should have and still fits the comba theme.
Mime Jr would evolve into an Ice type wi the Ice Stone.
Evolutions that are based on having the mon take a certain amount of damage appear abusive, hence I gave them evolutions based on low friendship, which also would involve letting your mon faint frequently.
Milcrey needs fruit, which comes from plants, which have leaves. Even then, th is a bit forced.
Because Kubfu's evolutions reminded me of Tyrouge's, I decided to give Urshifu its evolutions. Single-Strike Urshifu, which emphasises ingle strong strikes, gets th emphasis on Attack.
Kleavor is also forced a little: the Moon Stone physically resembles the Black Augurite. I am not going to code an entire item over a singl evolution.
I gave Hisuian Typhlosion the Poison Stone (since poison and ghosts are both adjacen to death) and Hisuian Samurot the Moon Stone (because of darkness). I gave Hisuian Decidueye the Sun Stone because Grass types are associated wi the Sun Stone, though that also makes a sort of trilogy, since the Sun, Moon, and Poison Stones are Gen 2 stones.
Hisuian Lilligant, which is based on a dancing style that emphasises balance, also gets a balance-based evolution.
I decided to get rid of the rain requirement regarding both Goodra, though Kalosian Goomy evolving wi the Water Stone is an allusion to the original idea.
Kalosian Avalugg ets the Ice Stone, since Hisuian Avalugg is not pure Ice-Type the way Kalosian Avalugg is.
The LV 40 is based on the 400 Meltan Candy.
I wanted to includ every Gen VIII Pokémon, even the Hisuian ones.
I wonder if putting them there is a good idea or how am I going to integrate the Hisuian mon in the story.
Then again, that is a task after I complete the Scarlet and Violet demakes.
EDIT: I am just going to give Alcremie and Kleavor the Dawn/Shiny Stone, which will be my 'last catch-all' volution Stone a this point.

I’m ok with how they handled the story honestly. I like how it’s you making friends with 3 very different people that really wouldn’t interact or be friends without you and because of you they are happily willing to jump into madness at the end and end up just getting on with each other as a result.
Considering the Indigo Disc requires you to have done the Teal Mask to do it and stuff is brought up in Teal Mask that ties back to the base…I really don’t know why they went with that approach. Games been out for months, everyone’s done the game anyway. And those that haven’t? It would be something to look foward to. As it is the story feel weaker for not having them.
In fact the setup for the dlc seems like it was designed with you and your buds going on the trip together.
Trip to go explore and have fun and party, we absolutely needed that after the base games plot. And then stuff goes funny and stuff happens and it all ties back to Area Zero.
I almost think it might have been intended to have bern MC and buds and then that got noped.
You + 3 others is a very exact number for a school trip. And you just so happen to have 3 really good friends…
BUT NOPE!
Seaking of, kid not actually being Orgepon and that’s why everyone was all hush hush around him was a missed opportunity
Orge Oustin not being able to be played with anyone online is real dumb. Only having some of the evo items infinitely obtsinable from it is also annoying.
The Mega Rayquaza itself looks amazing but it made me realise how good the battle animations in Legends Arceus were.
I miss the mons hitting the opponent when using physical moves. This was also a thing in Battle Revolution and should be implemented into future games.
Okay that's proof enough.
Nobody right in his head would defend "minor attraction" even as a joke or trying to come off as progressive.
Why has he be so autistic to make his children with feet mods when roasting modern pokemon games tho?
It's basically saying "Please bully me." and people will.
Just shut your mouth about your sackshuality, nobody cares.
Fucking pedo.

That takes me back all the way to 2013 when X and Y were announced. I was expecting battles to look more like they did in the home console games and was so autistically mad when a Pokemon used Superpower and summoned a drawing of a fist instead of actually punching the opponent.
I've been thinking about downloading a Minecraft mod known as Cobblemon to spice up my Minecraft games.
Oh, and I managed to catch a Shiny Flabébé in Scarlet via the new event Mass Outbreaks (the Eevees were pissing me off) and I can understand why people really don't like to Shiny hunt them in SV.
