ALL pokemon games are dirt simple, aside from maybe the GC ones and individual parts of other games. It's the principle of the matter that counts.
Yeah, stuff like this only matters if you're doing an custom run or it's literally your first attempt at playing an RPG. But there's hardly any excuse for Sword & Shield to be that way when you look at what they did with Arceus and S/V
Same here. Starting with Gen 7, serious crap appeared, like no more surfing from place to place
Technically, surfing is still around in that game...Mostly to reach that hidden island with Necrozma(?) and for getting the usual list of hidden islands. But I think that Gen 8 had it worse in the sense that there's hardly any environmental obstacles (aside from the water) to stop you from getting everything

So someone gave me their old Switch and Violet. So far I like it. I'm just a casual player. Catch pokemon, fight pokemon, finish game. That sort of thing. For that it's just fine. I also have Sword but I'm not playing more than one pokegame at a time.

There's also more Western influence in the series too. One video on "woke" in S&V pointed out how much of the characters are ugly.

There is an ugliness factor I noticed. You can make yourself pretty generic anime looking with the right combo. You can also be fucking hideous. I played around with the character maker and it's amazing how bad you can be with just the few things you can tweak. Lots of edgy hair. The default female hair is very odd looking too. Not sure what that's even supposed to be. I ended up with the hime cut and a :3 mouth for lulz. But you can make yourself look like an ugly transkid and that creeps me out. I assume the gender neutral uniforms are for the comfort of enbeez.
It wasn't a good sign when the male and female (?) trainers in S&V are both wearing the same outfit.

I battled what I thought was a little boy. But it was a girl. I can't tell the kiddos apart.

I wish that the maps were a bit smaller. Every time I move somewhere there's a whole other area I haven't touched yet and much of it is filler.. I like that I can avoid random battles though.

I do have Alpha Sapphire. But I haven't played it yet. I got it awhile ago but was playing other things.

If you haven't played them yet, I highly suggest firing up Dolphin emulator and playing Pokemon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. Even though they released 20 years ago, they STILL have better animations and models than the newer titles. The games are also more difficult and have better characters and story(Miror B still GOAT). Unlike any of the main games, they also focus on double battles instead of singles, which changes everything, and there is a very limited pool of pokemon to choose from(unless you use Trigger's PC which lets you transfer any pokemon you own from GBA games, kinda like Gen 3's Pokebank)
Very enjoyable experiences that actually give you a challenge and leave you satisfied when you're done, it will blow your mind just how day and night the difference is between the GC and Switch titles.
They also have a damn hard post game challenge, in the form of Mt Battle. For that, I definitely suggest just importing a good team since you need lv 100 pokemon and good luck grinding the pokemon you find in the main game to that level.
Honestly, I wouldn't consider anyone a true "fan" unless they've done the Mt Battle Battle Mode challenge where they have to fight 100 trainers in a row using Stadium rules, took me 8 hours straight and was damn difficult to do, especially towards the end. Got myself a cool Ho-Oh out of it, however(only legit way to get one in Gen 3 without a genned Navel Rock event ticket)

Just gonna leave this here:

Since Genius Sonority and Trigger's PC were mentioned, is there a way to transfer(not gen) pokemon from Gen 4 saves or carts over to Pokemon Battle Revolution on Dolphin? I Heard that game is notoriously unfun with just the rental pokemon and I always wanted to try out my Platinum/Heart Gold pokemon in Battle Mode/Stadium like game.
Cheating pokemon in doesn't sound like fun, I want to do it with my bros if possible.

Alpha Sapphire
That became my favorite in the series, and I like how one can get a good team without trading.

Also to me it's a remake of of the "reboot" since Gen 3 was incompatible with the 8-bit games.

From what I've seen online (never got SV), NPCs in S&V can be ugly too.

Kind of? I think PKHeX lets you export individual Pokemon from a mainline game then import them into a Battle Revolution save. But if you’re asking about actually connecting Dolphin to a real/emulated DS, then no.

If I understand correctly, that copies(clones) my pokemon without it being "deposited" into the game, which isn't the same thing. I'm not familiar with PBR but there might be ribbons and other changes made to pokemon who do well, so I wanted to transfer them as legit as I can without the actual hardware.
Oh well, I guess that will have to do. I will have to find a homebrew app to take saves from my DS carts first.

The whole Van Goh collab is more proof that Pokémon being a "Lifestyle brand" rather than a video game franchise has been a disaster for the IP as a whole. These soy golems make Disney Adults look well mannered by comparison.

I remember when real world events were relegated to places like Gamestop, and all you did there was take your console and get a new pokemon, now I think you just get cards with codes or just do it over wi fi from home. Nice and easy, no pushing in any case.
Whose bright idea was it to indulge consoomers in a museum?

That was a dead giveaway. It was relatively subtle and innocuous on its own (at best it was charitably boring), but absolutely a harbinger of things to come, and boy did the queers cum--ALL over the fucking game. The series is in such a sad damn state, westernized and woke. It's a tragedy.
Oh come on, of all the things to focus on with this series why this?

It is ridiculously pedantic and overblown to call Pokémon "woke" now. It's the equivalent of saying it's literally as bad as that garbage He-Man reboot for the single "non-binary Pokémon" letter an NoA representative replied to like 4 years ago. Nothing ever came of that, nothing will ever come of it, and it's diluting your valid points to call Pokémon "woke and westernized" for having garbage character designs.

Are the trainer designs in SV tragedies? Absolutely, they are distractingly ugly and I hate the muscle-women and adult "students" in particular. Is SV somewhat westernized in that it is targeting a more western demographic? Absolutely, it's a monolithic brand attempting to appeal to one of (if not) its largest markets. I'm pretty sure that's the only reason that there are black people included semi-prominently anywhere after Unova or Alola. It'd be stupid for it not to take western sensibilities into account.

But there has been no gender-related shit outside of the typical Japanese androgyny. No nonbinary/"queer" rep. Not a single hint of race-related bashing or obnoxious idpol preaching. The only thing the alphabet crowd have to cling onto with these games is an extremely convoluted and likely nonexistent gay romance plot between a mentor and student (the whole Applin thing) and the fact that the protagonist designs are so incredibly boring that people are praising them for "erasing gender boundaries" by copy-pasting a character model twice.

The queers have only "cum all over the fucking game" because Pokémon's fanbase itself has gotten increasingly gayer as older fans have left the franchise and newer fans have only stuck around because they enjoy choking on both corporate and homosexual dick whenever they're given the opportunity.

I saw the writing on the wall years back, the slope is as slippery as ever. I was just surprised it took as long as it did from there to where we are now. But if you don't think it'll get even worse then you're delusional.

Pokemon is definitely woke now. Could it be more overt? Yep, and I assure you it will (as if hopping on the gender erasure bandwagon isn't enough already; I will forever reject the "body types 1 & 2" sort of bullshit infecting games).

So, regarding the "wokeness" of pokemon, I think I will let this image speak for itself.
Here is your pokemon bro.jpg
Expect it to get worse, Pokemon is now fully part of the ESG initiative and all the other SJW woke nonsense. If the JPN branch of the company doesn't care for it as much as the USA side of it does, then they're staying silent, and WILL continue to stay silent. Japanese culture isn't big on making a big fuss, more so on staying silent and dealing with things as they come.
Not like better looking models would fix a shitty game anyways, so no worries from me there. I am just doubling in laughter that the USA based regions(Orre, Unova, Alola) are still whites than Euro based ones(Kalos, Galar, Paldea)

>hurr durr this one NPC from a 10 year old game who made a single offhanded comment about transitioning as well as the two minor things I mentioned before means Pokémon is now woke
retarded beyond belief

I don't disagree that this "wokeness" will probably get worse as this ideology becomes more prominent and extreme in everyday society. Unfortunately, you are conflating a hypothetical future with a more moderate now, insisting that because of 4 very minor instances spread across A DECADE'S WORTH of games in one of the most frequently-flogged and constantly-released series in video game history, this entire series is now tainted by social justice lecturing and proselytizing- which is just not fucking true.

So, regarding the "wokeness" of pokemon, I think I will let this image speak for itself.

What point is this image even trying to make? That SV's characters look like shit? Again, all this brings up is that SV's character models are ASS-ugly. Muscle girls =/= trans representation, especially not in the western sense where nobody ever shuts the fuck up about it, and you'd have to be seriously brain-rotted to think otherwise.

I agree that Pokémon is sliding more towards western pandering. I agree that the series used to look objectively better. But claiming that it's fully "gone woke" is histrionic and ridiculous at this point. Call me when there's an enby monstrosity as a prominent side character and maybe then I'll agree.

Merrick from Serebii is coping by saying it's scalpers, not real fans. Fact still is that they did something related to Pokemon and a huge horde of retards showed up.

I will never get why people damage control this shitty franchise so much.
Like, bro, this is baby's first JRPG, let it go. It's dead and shit now, only trannies and soyboy faggots play the newer games(from what I am seeing)
SwSh was the wake up call for anyone with a brain that could see the writing on the wall where this franchise was heading. I don't know what else to tell you if you're going to write paragraphs defending SV of all games, which makes SwSh look good in comparison
