And we now have stats, typings, and Hidden Abilities (if they have 'em, of course) for the new Pokémon thanks to an unknown source that may be from the same Discord groups that leaked stuff relating to base SV before release and some stuff will be covered again for completeness's sake. Like all “leaks” take 'em with a grain of salt since these could not only be fake but, if the initial stats for the Treasures of Ruin are any indication, could be altered before release.

In a somewhat-funny situation both Polchageist and Sinestcha have different Hidden Abilities depending on if it in its Unremarkable or Masterpiece Formes, something that the Polteageist line lacks.

This is also the first time Happy Hour and Celebrate have been available outside of events and Sketch shenanigans so money farming is going to get a lot easier come the 13th. Don't ask me why Masterpiece Forme even learns Celebrate when it's completely useless, even I'm confused by it.

Embody Aspect: The Pokémon's heart fills with memories, causing the [Teal/Wellspring/Hearthflame/Cornerstone] Mask to shine and the Pokémon's [Speed/Special Defense/Attack/Defense] stat to be boosted.

Ivy Cudgel: The user strikes with an ivy-wrapped cudgel. This move's type changes depending on the mask worn by the user, and it has a heightened chance of landing a critical hit.

Ogerpon is basically going to be banished to Ubers once Smogon gets a hold of it and it'll be a powerful tool in VGC. It's also worth noting that Houndstone taught a lot of players to be wary of Last Respects so expect that to be a major problem.

Whoops.
I keep forgetting to say that, in my hack, there will be no splitting the Sinistea/Sinistcha lines into Phony/Unremarkable and Antique/Masterpiece. Those differences are simply ignored, since all tha they affect is a very smal label and their evolution method. They ar exactly the same otherwise.

I also might do something about Past Raikou's design, bu there is no guarantee ther, either.

On those leaks...
Wait. The Loyal Three actually learn Toxic and Ipplin actually learn Sweet Scent, even though their Abilities automatically has them inflic those moves? At least Paldean Ursaring does not learn Foresight.
I am surprised that one can simply customise their Ogerpon by having the Ogerpon learn a move, swap the mask, then learn other, though later, moves. I actually found out abou this when I planned in my hack on havin Gardevoir and Gallade volve into their Future Counterpart, which moves would be definitely influenced ifferently by its pre-evolution.

Normal/Steel
wait what? This is getting retarded, absolutely nothing about that design suggests Steel in any way shape or form. I don’t understand GameFreak’s mad dash to add every single unused type combo into the game whether it makes sense or not, especially when they’re actively detrimental to designs like this (and every single fighting type from this generation and partially the last) is. Please, dear god, somebody fire the entire in-game mon (moves/abilities/typings/etc) design department, they’re clearly terrible at their jobs.

1. Blood Moon
1. Headlong Rush
>lmao let’s just give this new form both an extremely OP signature move similar to the region’s Pseudo Legendary’s while also giving it the extremely OP signature move of its base form surely nothing can go wrong here

(Weak Armor [Unremarkable form])/(Shell Armor [Masterpiece form])
72. Happy Hour [Unremarkable form]
72. Celebrate [Masterpiece form]
>lmao let’s just make extremely rare forms of regular Pokémon have different level-up moves and abilities than their more common forms to squeeze more replay time out of our rabid fanbase of retarded collectors so that people who want a specific ability or move on their mon will be eternally frustrated at their mon not being able to have an ability or move that its species could learn under different circumstances despite how many steps we’ve taken to prevent that and nobody will notice that there is literally nothing else to do in this scummy excuse for a video game
>and while we’re at it let’s reintroduce an old event-only move that literally does nothing into a normal mon’s in-game learnset to simultaneously hurt those collectors by “devaluing their mon” using their own retarded logic
>????????????

the only saving grace here is that Masterpiece’s move and ability are both objectively worse than Unremarkable’s in most contexts
the ability is debatably less objectively worse since Shell Armor is still quite good, but I think Weak Armor is better in competitive and isn’t horrible on its own so

Poison/Fighting
Poison/Psychic
Poison/Fairy
my clairvoyance strikes once more :smug:

80. Last Respects
yeah that thing’s going to UUBL immediately lol
Houndstone already got decimated simply for having STAB on the damn move, imagine what STAB from a legendary with automatic stat-boosting abilities could do

one last thing I nearly forgot:
(Cornerstone Mask)
Ghost/Rock
I am almost impressed by how spectacularly I have been pissed off by how this generation’s decided to hand out the new type combos
like yeah give the fat overgrown 2000s Raichu OC with no reason to exist and the worst design of any pikaclone (the lowest fucking bar in the series, mind you) an electric/fighting type despite the previous gen’s Zapdos regional variant, Furrybait Mythical The Fourth from the gen before that one focusing entirely around punching and big meaty claws, and the literal raging ape-ogre thing known for its physical violence all existing
and make the ghost/rock type introduced solely with a shitty mask form that barely justifies it despite the literal dead coral, undead stone inscription, and the skeletal dog with a literal tombstone on its head all coming out within the last 2 fucking generations
If the Fighting type no longer means anything outside of “this mon punches hard”, give it to the fucking Ostrich with tree-trunk legs that rapes shit just by staring at it and is known for attacking with kicks
If a combination of Ghost/Rock won’t apply to literal living rocks in any way shape or form, why establish what it should be with a fucking gimmick form that doesn’t clarify anything outside of “this legendary sucks dick and we really need more ideas outside of type changing to sell our flagship DLC legends with”?
I had this exact same type-debut issue with Rotom and its forms, and it’s a substantial part of why I still don’t like that static orange sperm to this day (and Galarian Darmanitan by proxy), so seeing the issue only become more and more prevalent as the series continues onward is just another straw to add to the long-segregated spine of this poor dead camel

sigh
maybe someday this series will finally fucking die
or be well and truly rebooted so that the newer stuff can take on a life of its own and just be ignored
some day…

wait what? This is getting retarded, absolutely nothing about that design suggests Steel in any way shape or form.

(double-posting for another round of Teal Mask spoilers)
supposedly the entire Teal Mask pokedex has leaked, revealing every returning mon, every new form, and mon… already in the base Paldean dex added in, for some reason.

linking to a dogshit article on the matter because I’m away from home and can’t copy the entire list without a bigger screen, I’ll probably copy-paste it in a week or so once circumstances have changed
This is probably like how gen 8 had specific dexes for each of it's DLC areas. So this is the DLC 1 dex.

Looks like news outlets in Japan got to try out the DLC, we've got a small amount of new info.
New TMs are in being introduced in the DLC with Grassy Glide, Burning Jealousy, Lash Out, Poltergeist, and Toxic being shown via Famitsu.

More apparel, hairstyles, picnic supplies are available in the Kitakami Center. For some weird reason it was pointed out that you can now rearrange the chairs when you set up a picnic.

The Ogre Oustin' mini-game can also provide Tera Shards alongside the previously revealed EV-boosting/resetting mochi. There are three levels of difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced) and you can have friends play alongside you to complete it.

New items are introduced and the EXP Charm from SWSH's DLC returns.

The Roto-Stick that allows you to take better in-game selfies with your Pokémon can also play music that your Pokémon can react to. You can also share photos with friends via the Union Circle feature.
We're a week plus a day away from The Teal Mask's drop date so I wouldn't be surprised if more news comes out between now and then.

“give us money to use a feature that used to be free and included within the base games of previous gens” is becoming one of my least favorite recurring patterns

they literally have nothing else to show lol the rest of the demo talks about extremely minor shit like getting your Pokémon to notice you in photo mode and very basic difficulty-select modes for the recycled Arceus bike races

remember: they want $35 dollars for this

So question. Is there anything in these game's coding that make it so they can't have a skin tone slider? You'd think with how they've been embracing the global market since the 3ds era that they would put that in.

With the 10th anniversary of Gen 6's release, I hope we'll get more information on the Draconid tribe of Hoenn. In OR/AS, they seem to be one of the first peoples of the Hoenn region and worship Rayquaza. Though who knows. Maybe they're like Legends: Arceus where many people in Sinnoh aren't native to Sinnoh, but descendants of immigrants from all over the Pokemon world.

I don't think so, but perhaps someone else would have a better answer. There's a lot of details that you'd think would be in the games by now but aren't. It did take until gen 6 to have real trainer customization, and even then, that was supposed to be a gimmick unique to Kalos until popularity brought it back to some extent.

Personally I feel like the Ursaluna variant is just worse. It has the hammer variant, but it's missing a few things that the regular Ursaluna has. For one, Normal/Ground is arguably defensively better. You trade a water and grass weakness for a quad fighting weakness, a ground weakness, and a fire weakness. Don't forget the meta's dominated by Great Tusk in general, and Steel is just really hurt by being paired with normal. Offensively, Steel is a pretty bad STAB compared to ground... and then there's the big one. The new variant lacks Guts, and Flame Orb Guts Facade is what makes Ursaluna offensively. Intimidate's still nice... but there's still the quad fighting weakness in a meta prepared for Kingambit so it is not placed defensively at all.

I'm not saying it's bad - the raw defensive profile is still wild. It's still weaker thanks to the really bad typing. I think it might have a home in the lower tiers, but the new Ursaluna is most hurt by the fact that the Hisuian variant acts as a check thanks to headlong rush. High UU for sure, but I don't think it has a spot in OU.

Honestly without knowing the inner workings of all the companies attached, my only reasoning is that Game Freak are just bad developers. I mean people want to complain how much worse they are now, but I’ll contend that they have always been bad at their jobs since day one.

I mean from what I can tell the best parts of S/V we’re the Pokémon models which I believe was handle by Creatures Inc. then just look back at the history of the franchise and see how broken their games were, getting away with it mainly because they were on a handheld system.

Like being frank I actually do enjoy S/V in spite of how badly programmed and designed they are. I just think like any other developer within Nintendo could make a better game than GF ever could. Because you can’t use the Switch is weak line, when Monolith was able to make Xenoblade X on the Wii U. A game with a much bigger world, with more going on, with better and more varied movement options on the Wii U of all consoles.

Pokemon only got as big as it did because of Satoru Iwata fixing their shit to make them look good. Throw in that most Japanese artists want to do nothing but draw porn all day and you have modern game freak and no decent original pokemon since sun/moon.

The series would be better if they stopped with the stupid generational gimmicks no one cares about and went back to more new pokemon with each generation and longer postgames.

I mean that’s a 100% prove able untrue statement, Iwata is only on record as helping with Gold and Silver but your just a liar if you don’t think Pokémon wasn’t already bigger than Jesus with the first games. So no they succeeded on their own merits, the issue was their own merits weren’t even good considering how fucking busted all the gen 1 games were.

Also I’ll extra disagree because I think almost no Pokémon except for maybe Rowlets line look good from Sun/Moon and that whole line of games is ass just for having the shitty SOS feature. Also it’s just your opinion on the Pokémon designs which is fair but I think S/V have more designs I liked then most of the games since Black/White. Except for that fucking gay pink gremlin, whole line is shit and I assume your a tranny if you like Tinkatink or whatever.

Alrighty, what are you guys arguing about th--

Is there something in the water that's making you guys sperg out about the company's failings from around 30 years ago?

They can't fix modern Gamefreak so some take to complaining about past Gamefreak. The process is natural and doomed. Looking for the source of a problem in the hopes that a solution will reveal itself, but the problem and any potential solution is so far removed due the corporate structure that people get stuck in a loop eternally evaluating the failings of every era of the series.

Very boring take, but while I find that some features being gatekept behind DLC is less than ideal, I still prefer it over having to beat the "same" game with some small tweaks twice like they used to do with third versions. Ultra S/M taught me that lesson the hard way. At least this way you get the new content on the same save.

All us Pokespergs wish it has always been better than it actually is, but can't ever quite get the blame just right. Some say it's always been bad, some say it's always been good, the truth is somewhere on the spectrum between that and one's own rose-colored glasses.

I’m just saying Game Freak has always been a kinda of shitty developer with very visible issues from the start. That’s really it, I mean im not doom and glooming because I still enjoy the games. They have huge problems that have no reason to be there that most developers would’ve fixed by now but I still enjoy their products.
