I thought I had seen a drawing of the tall exeggutor somewhere!! I saw fanart on tumblr and it looked exactly like the new one! ...That or there's an insider. I wish I could find it again cause I s2g I saw it like 3 days ago and now it's real :o

Some people are wondering if Z-Moves are going to replace Mega Evolution, since it's the new bracelet-type item. Personally, I'm going with a big "no" on that. While Z-Moves look cool and all, I seriously doubt they're taking the place of something like Mega Evolution. Being able to unleash a strong STAB once in a battle seems like nothing compared to being able to change the form of a Pokemon all together (see Beedrill, Altaria, Lopunny, etc on why that was such a big deal).

However, I acknowledge that it's all we know so far on the Z-Bracelet, and that more information could come to light on its capabilities as a whole. However, with what we currently know, it just doesn't seem like it'd outright replace Mega Evolution. And just because it's the new bracelet doesn't mean that Mega Evolution's going bye-bye. There are other accessories they could use in place of a bracelet. Of course, they could also just use two bracelets easily. It would still be cool if we could pick an accessory.

I'm also waiting to see how the Alola forms work in terms of the classics, whether they're found on one of the islands/locations, or if the classics are going to be relegated to transfer-only.

for fucks sake i swear to fuck if the fire starter is fire/fighting again i am marching to gamefreak and personally slapping every one of the team who agreed to this
robin hoot is meh but w/e its not as bad as fucking WRESTLER FIRE TYPE AGAIN

Could possibly be fire/dark (evil)?

I understand the frustration, though. :(

Oh God, the hype for this game has never been stronger. I can't wait for three and a half more months!

But yeah, it's weird how we haven't gotten any confirmation of Mega Evolution making a return even though it was such a huge part of the Gen VI games. And there are still so many Pokemon that could really benefit from it. Hopefully they didn't scrap it, and I don't think they would.

Oh, and Serebii has descriptions of all the new Pokemon (including the Alola Forms). Here are Vulpix and Ninetales's descriptions, since they're obviously the best Pokemon ever:

It is said that Vulpix came to the Alola region together with humans, but the Fox Pokémon moved to the snowy mountain peaks to avoid the normal habitats of other Pokémon, and thus it ended up taking on this form. These Alolan Vulpix live on high mountains that remain covered in snow year-round. They live in small packs of two to five individuals, helping one another survive. Alolan Vulpix can freeze anything solid by expelling breath at a temperature of -58 degrees Fahrenheit (-50° C) from its mouth. It doesn’t fare well in the heat, but when the temperature gets too high, it produces ice from its tail to lower the surrounding temperature.

Alolan Ninetales live on a snowy peak that is revered in the Alola region as a holy mountain. They are treated as sacred emissaries, and people meet them with awe and fear. This Pokémon’s personality is extremely gentle, and at times it has helped humans who seem to be in distress. However, it shows no mercy at all to anyone or anything that dares to damage its territory! The Alolan Ninetales is able to produce ice crystals from the fur that covers its body. It can use these ice crystals to block attacks, or it can form balls of ice with them, which it fires like bullets at opponents. The power of these ice missiles is great enough to pulverize rock!

I just had a thought; I wonder how Vulpix will evolve? I don't think a Fire Stone would work. Maybe they'll have it evolve with the help of the Ice Rock?

So it seems that the gyms are going to take a page from the Orange Island arc of the anime. Let's see where this goes.

I like the ice Vulpix/Ninetales even if they're deviantArt fakémon-tier.

And I think someone at GameFreak took great joy in ribbing Americans with how shamelessly Trump-like Yungoos becomes in its evolution. I wonder how Poké-Hillary will look like.

There was a lot of information to take in with that video good lord.

I'm half-half on the Alola Forms; Vulpix, Ninetails, and Sandslash all look good to me, but I'm iffy with Exeggutor's typing. I'm more curious if that means any Poke'mon that have an "Alola Form" will change on being brought over or if they'll not shift forms if brought in from another game.

Also, four islands instead of gyms? Not a bad change of pace. Makes me think of the Orange Islands from the anime series, and it's something different from the usual 8-gym and E4 plus a Champion routine. Curious to see how exactly it plays out in-game.

Z-Moves seems interesting as well. It feels like it's something they expect people to use in a bind to get them out of a tough spot, or just obliterate a particularly annoying opponent. I want to know what the ones for other types look like as well since they did say every type had one.

The new Poke'mon revealed are also pretty good imo. I didn't care for Yungoose, and Gumshoos isn't looking any better, so they likely won't be making it onto my team. Mudbray still likely to make it to the team because Mudsdale is awesome. I want to see more of Minior before really making a decision on that one.

If I weren't picking Rowlet for my starter, Fomantis/Lurantis looks like they would make a nice grass-type for the team. Really nice designs on those two, though I was kinda hoping for part fairy on Lurantis. Kinda gives me Florgest vibes with the disappointment of it not being a Grass/Fairy type.

Oricorio could be interesting depending on it's stats. I can't see it evolving because of how it differs with every island, but I could be wrong about it. Would personally go for the Sensu Style variety.

Also, if Robin Hoot is the true final evolution for Rowlet, I'm stoked. But hopefully if those are true Litten doesn't become a fire/fighting wrestler and is maybe fire/dark or somehow a different typing combination. We really don't need anymore fire/fighting types ever.
