To me, especially with ones like the mouse duo pokemon, the designs this gen feel almost like Dragon Quest or No no Kuni enemies rather than traditional Pokemon. I mean, even things like Koraidon look like specific characters I can think of from DQ11 more so than any conventional design.

Definitely can see how the graphic style is to blame, though, and judging from the leaks so far this actually looks way better than sword and shield (bar is subterranean). I'm super excited for an experience that isn't complete shit. Plus the paradox pokemon are a welcome concept (except boring Misdreavus).

It’s called Gholdengo and its Ability, Good As Gold, makes it immune to other Pokemon’s status moves.
These were taken from ripping the game’s data, use the first list to find an Ability’s name and then use the corresponding number to find the Ability’s description in the second list.

From a cursory glance it appears that Intimidate hasn’t been nerfed but Battle Bond may have due to removing any references to Ash-Greninja.

Here’s the full menu sprite sheet for the various Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. The excessive use of Pikachu’s menu sprite is to serve as a placeholder for Pokemon not present in the game.
While the Vivillon line is present in the game you can only Fancy Pattern Vivillon are available, any other patterns need to be imported from Home (via Bank transfers or GO).

Submission, Hyper Fang, Mind Reader, Vital Throw, Hail, Nature Power, Magic Coat, Revenge, Refresh, Grudge, Aromatherapy, Doom Desire, Psycho Boost, Psycho Shift, Heart Swap, Autotomize, Dual Chop, Leaf Tornado, Mat Block, Crafty Shield, Flower Shield, Venom Drench, Powder, and Power-Up Punch have been removed.

Moves introduced in PLA are still in the game.

Doodle is a new move, which I assume is exclusive to the Grafaiai line, causes the user and its ally to copy the target’s Ability.

Revival Blessing revives a fainted Pokémon, healing it by 50%.

Chilly Reception causes the user to switch out with another waiting Pokémon and sets up Snow.

Tidy Up removes the effects of Spikes, Stealth Rock, Sticky Web, Toxic Spikes, and Substitute while boosting the user’s Attack and Speed.

Snow is a new weather effect that seems to have replaced Hail since its mentioned in Abilities and attacks that have mentioned it in the past.

Man, I don't know if I'm a fan of some of the move changes and move culling is something I have hated since SwSh. Hail being removed is just weird... they removed the half it did of Sandstorm and replaced it with the other half of Sandstorm when it was already the weakest weather and it already had that weaker comparison to sandstorm. I also really dislike the idea of limiting abilities, it just feels wrong especially since it's such a departure from how secondary effects have never persisted between switches. Intimidate is one of the best abilities sure, but if it only comes out once and it's effect is removed by switching that seems like an in-balance between what is kept track of and what isn't. Let's hope they at least give the unit Regigigas a saved number of active turns on switch with this new space-age technology of simple programming flags.

Same here. Exploring the new setting with all it has to offer and then diving into stuff like breeding right after is the bread and butter of this series for me. Which is probably why I didn't get the hype around Legends Arceus because exploring those near empty landscapes was boring as fuck and the game didn't offer you much else to do, unless you like pointless sidequests.
Seems like I'm the complete opposite. I much prefer the catching side of Pokemon. I could not care less about pokemon breeding and luckily for me Legends Arceus felt the same way. It's not just the lack of breeding in that made Legends Arceus my favorite game, it had all these little features and mechanics that made collecting mons way more fun in a way that I never knew I wanted. That game was cocaine in my hands for much of early 2022.

Comparatively, I'm currently emulating Pokemon Scarlet and after a few hours I want to drop it so badly. It turns out I now hate the slow pacing of mainline Pokemon games. Legends Arceus let me catch mons near instantaneously but here I am forced to needlessly engage with GameFreak's archaic battle system & GUI. Christ amighty is there any legitimate reason why after all this time that battles take so long? I just wanna catch all the mons and move on but for whatever reason this game believes it should take me at least 30 minutes to find and catch the tiny variety of mons in a given zone.

Hopefully I'll push on to see all the cool new mons they promised but honestly I feel like it's not worth it to put so much time into something I'm not enjoying.

Leaks look dope in some regards some of the designs look lazy. But does anyone want a shiny eternatus code i grabbed a bunch today when i was out and about. Id rather not give them to reddit faggots.

Some game fluff hinting at the DLC was apparently found in the game.

It’s basically a mishmash of the three Legendary Beasts and I suspect that Paradox Virizion will be the same thing (with the possibility of having Keldeo thrown in for consistency’s sake).

EDIT: HP-recovering moves like Roost and Recover have had their PP counts nerfed, they’re now limited to 5 PP. Stallfags on suicide watch.

EDIT 2:
Protean has been nerfed, it now only activates once each time the Pokemon enters the battle instead of activating whenever the Pokemon attacks. There are also rumors that Intimidate only works once per battle in order to prevent stacking stat drops.

I hope that Suicune is the first triple typed Pkmn. It looks badass.

>Weed Cat has Protean
>Protean is nerfed
>Weed Cat is now ugly and less competitively viable

(:_(
Honestly, I might just rely on Terastalising it, and keep Overgrow. I get three stabs that way, and my choice isn't limited to types of moves Meowscarda learns.

I hope that Suicune is the first triple typed Pkmn. It looks badass.
My suspicion is that they actually have abilities that set the field with an effect that aligns with the type they're originally associated with, to act as counters to the legendary bikes. So F Virizion gives grassy terrain to counter Miraidon's electric terrain, and A suicune has a drizzle-like ability to counter Koraidon's drought-like one.

Tbf, that other half of sandstorm was part of what made Hail so shit - you literally could only run ice types or take residual damage. Sandstorm did three types.
And like Sandstorm, it's buff is where it's representative types more commonly need it.

Do they still waste two seconds per turn telling you that your character is being affected by it? That was the most obnoxious shit in SwSh, I avoided hanging out in those areas because of it.

And we have more leaked in info...

People who have been playing the game have figured out how breeding works.
Picnics basically function as mobile Day Care Centers. You need to have two compatible Pokémon in your party and it’ll eventually generate an Egg. Normal breeding rules like Egg Moves, Masuda Method, and Ball inheritance still apply. It’s not known what happens if you have more than two compatible Pokémon (in the form of three or more Pokémon sharing an Egg Group or having two different breeding pairs). You can also make sandwiches that boost Egg production.

A fan-favorite mechanic from PLA has made a return in SV.
It’s outbreaks, they’re a daily feature and you can reset them by mucking about with the Switch’s calendar like you could with SWSH’s Raid Dens.

Something about Paradox Pokémon has been discovered.
They’re not Shiny-locked and you can get multiple copies each species.

Oh, and the Day 1 patch is 1 GB in size. It’s smaller than BDSP’s Day 1 patch (which was 2.4 GB) but it’s larger than PLA’s (which I can’t find the file size for but I remember the download finishing up fairly quickly).

Ash doesn't get Alain'd in his Grand Final match against Leon, and wins it! The episode even had cameo appearances from Ash's old team, i.e. Butterfree, Primeape, Pidgeot, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Greninja, to name a few, show up.

TPC also posted this result on all of their social media, even spoiling the outcome for English-speaking viewers, which are not on that episode yet.

Japanese Yahoo article about the episode

Ash's win was even broadcasted, as it were a news report.

Unfortunately, we won't get to see Ash salt for him getting fucked over in a Finale, this time.
