The little itemfinder guy makes me think of Grey Matter from Ben 10 and it's bugging the crap out of me.

Also this is a legit serious question I have regarding all of these Pokémon, locations and stuff: How much of this is true to form in real-life Spain? I refuse to believe ugliness is a common sight to see in wildlife and the like.

5. are all "past" paradox forms exclusive to scarlet, and all "future" paradox forms exclusive to violet?
6. do "normal" basic pokemon evolve into the paradox forms, or are there paradox forms of the whole line? e.g. a normal form phanpy evolves into one of the paradox donphan, or no?
5. Yes.

6. No, Paradox Pokemon are standalone and don't evolve from (or into) anything else. They're also late game content.

EDIT 2:
Protean has been nerfed, it now only activates once each time the Pokemon enters the battle instead of activating whenever the Pokemon attacks. There are also rumors that Intimidate only works once per battle in order to prevent stacking stat drops.

Considering how terastallization works, I think it'll be fine in the end.

Some game fluff hinting at the DLC was apparently found in the game.

It’s basically a mishmash of the three Legendary Beasts and I suspect that Paradox Virizion will be the same thing (with the possibility of having Keldeo thrown in for consistency’s sake).

EDIT: HP-recovering moves like Roost and Recover have had their PP counts nerfed, they’re now limited to 5 PP. Stallfags on suicide watch.

>Weed Cat has Protean
>Protean is nerfed
>Weed Cat is now ugly and less competitively viable

Best mindset to go into this with, to be honest. When I picked up Sword a few years back I thought the same and thought that even if it ended up being terrible, I'd probably be entertained by it for a while. In the end I was pleasantly surprised and actually ended up liking it quite a bit, despite all its flaws.

I might pick up Violet as well. I don't care too much about the exclusives given one can just trade them in but I think the box legendary in that one looks slightly less retarded at least.
Part of Pokemon's appeal, at least to me, is exploration of a new region with each generation as well at meeting new characters so that mitigates my disappointment. SWSH had a lackluster story (I could tell that Rose was the big bad from his first appearance), but I still logged in over 1000 hours, mostly because I was using the Matsuda method for breeding (using a Japanese Ditto with all perfects IVs) or farming items via Dynamax raids. I did manage to get a shiny Cinderace, Inteleon, Corviknight, and Blaziken that way. I would still say it's better than DP and their remakes.

Some have said the fifth generation was the pinnacle of the series, but it would argue that it was the sixth for me. Oh, I'm kind of tepid on XY, but I'm all about ORAS because I was always a huge Hoenn-fag since the third gen I would even go as far to say that that ORAS was slightly better than HGSS in terms of quality. I know people complain about the lack of Battle Frontier from Emerald, but I personally never cared for it. ORAS expanded more on RS than HGSS did for GS in many respects, particularly how it slightly expanded on the rival's (Brendan/May) role and made the battles with Norman and Wally feel more impactful. Plus, I dig the mystery behind Sea Mauville.

That is not to say I don't like gen five, I'll probably go replay B2W2 again at some point.

Look at it this way: Greninja is also nerfed once Pokemon HOME patch comes in. Same for Libero Cinderace if they expand the Dex like they did for the SWSH DLC.

I think nerfing Stat changers is a good move. All it really does is lower the gap between pokemon. Gives a lot more pokemon that would otherwise have literally 0 chance... to some chance.

Still choosing Weed Cat. Don't care too much for Quaquaval, and while it's not bad, there's just something about Skeledirge's design where it just doesn't gel with me. Also I don't play competitively, so Protean being nerfed doesn't bother me.

I just wish Mudkip was in the game, since Swampert is my favorite 'mon in the series. Hoping there will be dlc like SW/SH had that adds in more 'mons.

Also as goofy as it is, I like Gimmighoul's evo. It's just so bizarre, it's hard not to like it.

Some have said the fifth generation was the pinnacle of the series, but it would argue that it was the sixth for me.

Same here. Exploring the new setting with all it has to offer and then diving into stuff like breeding right after is the bread and butter of this series for me. Which is probably why I didn't get the hype around Legends Arceus because exploring those near empty landscapes was boring as fuck and the game didn't offer you much else to do, unless you like pointless sidequests.

Also, speaking of the fifth generation, I feel like while everyone is quick to point out what good it did for the series and how its literally the best u guiz, no one likes to talk about that it also brought some of the more disliked parts of the series to it. For example, how you are stopped about every two minutes during the story because of some annoying NPC who needs to dump some story exposition or their personal angst or lines about their single character trait on to you. Prior to Gen 5 this was relatively inoffensive and came as a surprise sometimes (the May/Brendan "jumpscare" on that one bridge in RSE comes to mind), but Gen 5 it was very noticeable and this thing has never stopped since. Gen 7 was particularly bad due to Lillie going "NEBBY GET IN THE BAG" every other town or so and you end up just sitting there smashing the buttons until she gives you a single Revive.

thanks for the info, looks like my question about the tera crystal is that it's not actually a held item (which makes sense because that would be retarded)

kind of torn on which version to get, though i know that there aren't that many differences when trading is available. i like the scarlet legendary more, visually, but i like the idea of the stupid neo-tech paradox forms as well
