Never liked it when some random nobody had one, or sometimes multiple legendaries in the anime. Really takes a lot of the impact away when the physical manifestation of an abstract idea or element is used in a friendly match for shits and giggles.
You say that, but that's exactly the case for the main line games. I'd say they're just staying true to the source material.

What is the point of banning everything these days?
Competitive pokemon spergs are the only ones I've ever seen get more ban happy than the average discordfag.

The autists completely miss the point of pokemon being partners like in the anime where the entire point was to train them to take on battle frontier level competitions without all these retarded "restrictions" outside of no legendaries, which even the anime breaks a few times when nurse joy rolls up with a latias of her own and implying Latios/Latias are not legendaries anymore.

Legendaries are not meant to be "one-of-a-kind" godlike beasts. A better way of thinking about them is being the Pokemon-equivalent of cryptids such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster in the real world. With I guess mythicals being the most "cryptic" of the cryptids
Nurse Joy owning a Latias would be like if your local doctor owned a pet Vaquita. Extremely improbable, but not impossible

Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee has an arbitrary number of Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres in the game. While there is only one of each as a pre-set stationary encounter, after you unlock flying mounts in the post-game you have a rare chance of running into more of any of the three when in the air.

In the case of TCG bans/Standard-format rotations it's largely to prevent crazy "Win by turn 0" combos and annoying card-denial combos from becoming dominant in the game (Expanded has one in the form of an Electrode card from a later SM-era set, a Mew from a middle XY-era set, a powerful Energy card from a early SM-era set, and a hodgepodge mix of Tag Team GXs with power Tag Team GX attacks) as well as keeping the power creep contained to an extent.

A bunch of apparently real leaks happened sometime yesterday. A few new Pokemon plus some Gym Leaders.
This is the account who posted them, but they're private right now.
(I know I'm potentially posting a bunch of fake shit and I'm sorry, but the graphical style is basically identical to the actual game so it's leading me to mostly believe they're real.)

Well the epilogue of Sword turned out to be an watered down Delta Episode; and I loved how that the game went "Congratulations! You are now the Champion, now explore the rest of the Galar Region!" despite the fact that there's hardly anything else in it, at this point. Sure, there's the side quest for the box legendary, the DLCs, and the Battle Tower; but I think they were too busy designing the Wild Area to throw in an hidden cavern or two. But it isn't without it's good moments, like Leon commenting that you've brought that energy monster to the prize fight.

Hopefully, Scarlet & Violet doesn't shit the bed, but you never know, nowadays.

There's like one backtrack spot. Between your home and the first village you can swim over some water and fight a few mid-level Pokemon.

Yeah, I went over there an day or two after I got the upgrade for the bike. Everywhere else is just swimming across an river or an pond for an TM that I never bothered using.

Apparently Pokemon Puzzle League got added to the N64 on Switch options. It's one of the first time I have been sorely tempted to upgrade because that was the first game I got with my N64 as a kid and I played the hell out of it. Wouldn't mind indulging in a little nostalgia.

Upgrading to a 50 dollar subscription just for one little shot of nostalgia seems a little pricey to me. Hopefully you can just emulate it instead.

Other issues with the games aside, these new evolutions better not be region exclusives again. If they're going to keep making region exclusive evolutions they should at least give you a method to evolve old mon into their regional evolutions. Otherwise it just feels like they're too scared of giving old mon with no prior evolutions legit evolutions out of fear of bad feedback or "damaging" their brand recognition or causing some stupid evolite abuse. Just go all in with the evolutions and get rid of evolite or change some pre-exisisting stats if its going to be that much of an issue.

Did you not see that Kleavor, Wyrdeer, and Ursaluna from Legends: Arceus are non-regional new evolutions for older Pokemon? While Scyther already was effected by Eviolite due to Scizor, Stantler and Ursaring were not.

Eviolite fucked up so much, they do not want another chansey or Dusclops.

Neither of those two were geared to being bulky though, even in lower tiers

If that was actually the case they would've just, you know, stopped putting Eviolite in the games, like they did with the type gems from Gen V(outside of the Normal Gem). Not that hard to do since items can't be transferred between gens.

And even moreso, since Game Freak loves to remove features in future games, to "keep them fresh". They already removed Contests, Mega Evolution, Primal Reversion, Z-Moves, the Battle Frontier, and about half of the National Dex on Sword & Shield's launch, so surely it would be easy for them to remove just the Eviolite.

Would even nerfing the Eviolite (i.e. 50% -> 25%) make a difference at all, or no?

Yessssssssss omg now do Pokémon Stadium and Colosseum, Nintendo. Pleeeeease.

I'm still kind of mad that we were never given a Pokemon Z or X2 & Y2 that could've fleshed out a lot of X & Y's emptiness.

I also just realized why a lot of people I knew were making Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds jokes about the boxart legendary Pokemon. I wonder if Scarlet & Violet will have an enhanced version like Platinum/Emerald or if they'll just do an expansion pass again like Sword & Shield. I'm guessing its more likely the latter.
