I'm seeing another lazy cash-in from our friends at Game Freak.

And I'm seeing the Pokemon Masters cope really, really hard. Again.
I ain't talking about your standards for a bad one, I'm talking about your standards for a good one.

I mean come on, just compare the phantom ganon with the actual ganondorf fight. Multiple attacks to a phase! Ones that can be interrupted in different ways for attack opportunities! And these aren't things that dialga seems to do either.

Instead you went for speen and the delightfully fair, balanced, and interesting combination of "random cheap floor spikes" and "aggressive menuing".

You have to understand, it's small, struggling studio who just made an spin-off.
More likely that the styles and so on have absolutely turbofucked the balance. People love skyrim and fallout but hate fallout 76, because the multiplayer natures turns the exploits from "amusing but mostly ignorable" to "absolute hell to deal with".

So it would be gen 1 meta 2.0, IDK that just makes me want to see that happen more for the chaos

I'd like to see it too, but you just know that everyone would be screeing that the obviously brand-new changes have broken the entire game in half and yadda yadda yadda...

And they call me autistic. I picked the Phantom Ganon fight precisely because it was less complex than the Ganondorf fight. Though you'll be pleased to know that I did consider using a video of the Ganondorf fight as a first draft of the gag. Also when 1993 was calling me it was Secret of Mana. I figured it would be too much if I went any further into detail though considering I was already pushing it.

LOOK!! This is a big distraction. I'm supposed to be irrationally angry "Pokemon is dead, you are retarded for liking fun" guy. You're cramping my style. I need to come up with another vector of attack to annoy the Pokemon fans that are enjoying their decent 6/10 game. THAT SHOULDN'T BE TOO DIFFICULT oh hohohohohohoho! :feels:

At first I thought you were asking me what I would want in a Pokemon game that would satisfy me. Ask me that. I have a list.

Well, I finally got my copy in the mail. Managed to avoid spoilers aside from a few of the new regional variants and just started playing.

I did not expect this game to be an isekai.

Gee, thanks.

Well the gameplay so far is pretty fun but I’m really disappointed by the new pokemon, especially with the advantage of having a unique ancient setting. Love or hate the past few generations but at least they all (to me) have had pretty consistently creative and cool/cute looking pokemon. That was one of the few reasons I still bought Sw/Sh.

My conspiracy theory is that the pokemon company/game freak knew this game was more for older players so they didnt bother putting a lot of nice looking pokemon that would sell toys/plushies to kids.

Pretty conflicting experience so far. They're clearly taking steps in the right direction, so I can't shit on them too much, but the game is still lacking in so many areas. A far worse game would have sold just as well so I guess I can give them a tentative thumbs up for giving a shit and hope things will go up from here?

I still feel like I'm a crazy person for feeling this way but I'm the exact opposite here I like alot of the new designs so much more than SWSH, highlights for me are H-Zorua, Wyndear, Basculeigon and Overquill

Eh... you know me. I think most of the Pokemon designs after first generation and some of second generation are mostly crap or recolors of first or second generation. Even first generation has some fat that needs to be cut. There's too little middle ground between cute and angry when it comes to Stage 2. Take Sword and Shield for instance. The fire type was perfect in this respect because it ended up being cool but not some anime fag shit. But my cute little water buddy ends up evolving into a date rapist and my adorable drum monkey turns into a fucking mess. Generally I have the least amount of interest in the angry Pokemon. Even something like a Charizard is better than a lot of the newer creatures because it is drawing from a classic dragon type of design and doesn't have frowny eyebrows all over.

I was on your side until you said there's no good Pokémon after generation 2. Man, talk about a fall from grace. :(

Clearly you haven't seen Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova then. Those gens tend to be held up in high regard.

I was being pretty generous when I said second generation had anything worthwhile in it. Mostly I included that comment to keep you shithead faggots from crying. But alas, you cried like you always do.

Pokemon should have stopped adding Pokemon en masse after first generation and only sprinkled in another one or two dozen from the 90s to now.

I mean if we really want to get into it, the games are pretty middling JRPGs to begin with. The card game is where its at and that was feature-complete with Rocket Set and nothing else needed to or should have been released after. Gym Heroes shit up the TCG something fierce and nowadays Pokemon TCG is a disaster area. I like the idea of alignment differences within Pokemon rather than adding 500 useless creatures to the game.

They're probably saving up those ideas for the next new region. Though I do agree some more variety would be welcome. A fat dozen new forms isn't much exciting. A key point of Pokemon's marketing is to show off a bunch of new Pokemon every new game but not this time I guess.
It's not perfect, but it's a fun game. Really enjoying the new mechanics and filling out the pokedex. That said, I've only played it for 5-6 hours. Maybe it starts feeling stale and repetitive after a while.
Oh most definitely since mechanically this game is very sparse. Catching and battling mons is fun for a while but that's all you can really do. There's 5 different biomes for you to explore but functionally they all play quite the same and have the same loot. Pokemon behavior is extremely predictable and samey. Your stuck with only 3 types of pokeballs and some basic stealth tools for the whole entire game. This game is carried hard by the novelty of Pokemon and after 55 hours in I'm feeling the burn.
