Mainline Pokemon games have always been incrementally iterative.
So guys, do you think they will abandon the new stuff going foward (lighting fast UI, pokeball throwing in the overworld, more things to movement than just walking and using bikes) and make an extremely safe gen 9, or will this be somewhat of the template for games going forward? because while I would understand if stuff like styles is treated like a spin off feature, I really like they way capture is treated here and hope its not just a one off.
Pokemon that previously evolved via trade can now evolve with an item, though it's single use:

We Pokémon Mystery Dungeon now
So basically a battle tower? It makes the easy story team composition better if they have powered up shit in the post game, especially since wild pokemon are actually a threat this time around
Arceus is getting a new plate that makes it "every type at once", with a x4 weakness to rock and 11 immunities. If the timestamp dosen't work, go to 9:02 in the vid:
Someone on /vp/ pointed out that the rock weakness was humorous to give to the god pokemon since jesus was stoned

Considering Legends looks and feels like a beta test for gen 9, I think it's safe to assume this is the franchise going forward. If it's not I would be very, very surprised. They probably tested stuff and started moving onto Gen IX mid-development since Masuda's nowhere to be seen in the Legends development process.

Okay so hear me out, if gen 9 is legends-like then we need to
>Reuse pokemon temperament for a region (IE a region where animals are trying to kill you)
>Be close to Japan as possible so they can reuse alot of the Legends dex for the new animations created to LA while adding new ones/old favorites (ala Lets go PE into galar's Kanto Pandering)
>Be in a new country not adapted to a pokemon region before for marketing reasons
>someplace with alot of open space to adapt with the game play systems of stealth and exploration
In my mind there is only one place that fits all 4:

That has nothing to do with my complaint.

The animation looks awful, its speed isn't right, the lighting is bad and the textures are a mess.
It really seems like you're just looking for something to complain about with the game at this point. We've already established that the graphics aren't exactly the best the Switch has to offer, but it looks like the gameplay will make up for it.

Is there any confirmation of a rival character? It's strange we haven't seen Barry's ancestor yet, given he's an important character in Sinnoh.

As much as I shit on post-Gen 5 Pokemon, this game is shaping to be the best one since BW2. Admittedly it's a low bar but still, maybe Masuda's lack of involvement has something to do with it.

Ryujinx is how I've been playing. Helps that there's lots of troubleshooting going on in the /vp/ threads.
Game is completely broke for me on both emus. Going to wait until more official support personally.

So Volo's theme is pretty much just Giritina Cynthia's theme from masters
I know both are remixes of her encounter theme but they have similar feels and her having Girintia as well makes it feel intentional
Now just put him back in console games you cowards

I'm just glad I'm intrested in seeing where pokemon as a franchise is going again than just shitting on how poorly it's trying to rip off BW like I have been since SM came out and realized that X and Y didn't have problems due to being the first 3d game
masuda at least made BW proper, though the idea that BDSP was made as a "Masuda Containment Game" makes me non stop crack up

Not going to lie, seeing more of the gameplay videos does leave me slightly optimistic that this will be a better experience than the past... whole bunch of games to be totally honest. I've been waffling about doing a preorder on this. I kept my preorder for SwSh despite having some huge reservations and was extremely disappointed with those titles. I skipped the DP remake for the same reason. This one looks more dynamic and fun, and looks like it is at least partially the game I was hoping SwSh would have been.

The one thing that still sucks is cave/dungeon design because they are petrified of making it complex after kids got lost in mt. correnet
I'll let it slide this time because the areas seem very thought out otherwise but if they pull the same shit next game they do in this style they are just pussies, kids can handle it and it's not like the old hm system anymore, you can make them more than a single room or hallway and won't scare them lol

This game looks about above average (few janky glitches aside, like flying ponyta), not great or amazing, but an above average showing for Pokemon which by current age Pokemon standards probably makes it a masterpiece. Once again spin offs do more with the series then the mainline games.

I wonder if the game will have any real bite (especially if you attempted to nuzlocke it), or if the only reason mons are getting one shot so easily is because the people playing in the footage that I've seen are doing something wrong.

Everything is either fire and/or poison type. That'd be based as hell

As much as I would love for a Pokemon region to be based on Australia, I'm hoping GameFreak saves it for Gen 10, and go all out for it. Also hopefully by that time the Switch's successor will be out, so the game could be on more powerful hardware.

There's a theory going around that Gen 9 will be set in a region based on India, wouldn't mind seeing that. A Legends-style India region has potential.

I like to believe they secretly tested mt coronet on DSP level retards as it was always exciting to find new hidden rooms and explore to find the other parts of the Platinum Regi trio event (which is not in BDSP for some reason as it was a less autistic version of the Gen 3 regi tombs scattered over the region where you didn't need to learn braile or watch a guide to figure it out.)

Also the distortion room was a disappointment. A LEVEL 100 SHADOW GIRATINA that you can't catch and is stronger than arceus. No you can't get a second giratina its all for that stupid key item to change its form.

Saw this just now. Even moves are getting fucked with.

The change to Stealth Rock was already made apparent in the gameplay video and was expected given how battles were being handled in this game. Although, it being a rock type Fire Spin is news to me.

Anon, on the other hand, seems to Unaware that hazard removal and HDB were a thing prior to this change to Stealth Rocks. It's not like there wasn't already ways of dealing with the move.

Besides, I doubt this change is staying. It'll likely be a legends exclusive thing.

>Snow replaing hail and frostbite replacing freeze, buffing for Ice Pokemon
Based, probably will be exclusives to legends but I wished it was brought into mainline since it makes status shit more interesting and Ice needs so much more shit for it to be better
