The lack of post game is what makes locking all your other Pokemon options behind the national dex so frustrating. By the time people can play with more team flexibility or play with their favorites, the game is over and there's no point. I guess gym rematches but honestly, how many people really do that?
Even the best part of the Grand Underground, hidden Pokemon biomes, is locked behind the national dex. It makes no sense.
Despite all that I am enjoying it so far. Granted I haven't gotten very far.

You can. Sadly, the letter seals are gone.
They had no excuse to remove decorations, traps and flags, too. What's the point in having the Underground be multiplayer if there's less options to dick around?
I just miss the minigames and sidequests. It seems like all there is to do now is "lol catch 400+ Pokemon but get fucked if you don't have a trading partner".

I picked up Diamond and I have to say, I am enjoying it except for one thing.
Fuck the friendship mechanic and whoever decided we can't opt out. It was the worst thing new mechanic in Gen 6 and it is now even worse. I don't care that my Murkrow is looking at me or smelling me. Stop making me deal with extra dialogue boxes for a mechanic I hate.
At least in SWSH I could stop the fuckers following me in the Wild Area/DLC maps and thus stop them wasting my time.

They can, there have been difficulty hacks for Sword and Shield for a while now.
Go to the herb shop in Eterna City and buy a fuckton of the herbal medicine. Honestly, with shit like the forced affection system, forced Exp. Share, and 4 GB worth of patches (more to come), one could make an argument that BDSP is worse than the original Diamond and Pearl.

The best part of these recent years in Pokémon is how much ways there are to get shaymin now, he's my favorite and I recently was able to
>Get him in platinum after missing the event from losing my cart via action replay
>experience it probably whenever the event is released for BDSP
>Now arceus is also getting an event for shaymin if you own SWoSHie
is gamefreak/ILCA/TPC returning to eventmon kino rather than just giving them away at pokemon centers

Soooo, I learned via Serebii that the distortion world technically exists in BDSP, but it’s like, an optional postgame thing inside where the Pal Park was back in the OG games, as opposed to like, making it part of the main story.

yeah, if you want to play it wait down the line and buy them used or sail the high seas, games aren't worth 60, don't really get why people always feel like they need pokemon games right there and then when the games get put on used price drops pretty frequently after release

Gonna be honest, I didn’t like the original Distortion World all that much aside from the music. It just felt like a waste of time and the “wacky” shit happening wasn’t all that interesting to me.

It was a showcase of the DS' 3d capabilities and a test run for the camera angles in the gen 5 games, helped show how giratina comes from a complete other world with separate logic from the rest of sinnoh/the world as well but again mostly a showcase for DS' graphics and probably a response to gen 4 not really pushing the ds to it's limits before hand

Gamefreak need to sell off pokemon before they kill it with all this low quality shit, they fundimentally don't understand how the game works or how to design pokemon anymore, let me explain with one example.
Regieleki and Regidraco.
Now you may be asking yourself why these two forgettable legendaries? Well they display the most clear the most fundimental misunderstanding of what made the old designs good, the old regi's were all golems all of them made of materials you'd make a statue out of and animated as such. Rock, Ice, Steel. All things you'd want to create a protector golem to defend you out of, even regigigas works as it was this strange mystic thing but made by human hands so normal worked.
So if they wanted to add two new ones why not make them Grass and Ground type make them made of mud and wood not fucking electric and dragon, hell even if they did want to go electric (dragon has no excuse) they had the perfect design already in use with Xurcitree a strange creature made of cables and wires.
TL;DR: The new regis are the prefect example of everything wrong with the new pokemon games.

I don't get all the hate for Regieleki and Drago (I understand the critique however).
Sure, they could have gone in a different direction for those two.
Sure, they could have not made the two other regional legends be Regis.
But two silly looking Regis does not represent anything wrong with the new pokemon games and quite frankly something as subjective as pokemon designs shouldn't be something you point to if you want to talk about what's wrong with modern pokemon.
How can dragon type pokemon summon meteors or use a move called "dragon pulse"? It implies that dragon-types have this kind of energy to them that hasn't been fully explored with Regidrago being a physical manifestation of it.
