I was gonna get into OU and make a Garchomp team, but always had trouble thinking of what mons to fill a team out with. How do I get better at figuring this out? What would you suggest for Pokemon for a OU Garchomp team, with him being Setup Sweeper? What's the question?

How difficult is it to set up teams these days? Am I going to need any older gen games beyond just the gen 4 remake and SnS?
This has been more or less what I was looking for sans literal spoonfeeding, which hopefully I won't need. Thank you. I see, so VGC is a diff thing. And Showdown for Smogon things. Also, I'll prob pick up SnS anyways as I'd rather not just lock myself to one thing.I'm assuming you're talking about smogon rules, in which case you might run into some issues because official matchmaking on pokemon games doesn't follow smogon's rules and doesn't have tiers. If you want to do official matchmaking, it depends on what game and what the vgc rules are because that changes what pokemon are allowed. If you have your heart set on smogon you're probably better off just using pokemon showdown.
As far as team-building goes, though, start with your core. Take the pokemon you want to use (in this case Garchomp), and then look at it and think about what it's weaknesses are. Then, find a pokemon that covers most of those in a way you think is acceptable. Then you build off of there. Your team has Garchomp and its teammate, so what is the hardest thing for them to handle? Add a pokemon that covers that. You sort of just go like that until you have something basic set up, and then after testing it a bit you'll iron out the kinks. If you're brand new, though, I'm sure you can find plenty of cookie-cutter teams on any given competitive pokemon subreddit/forum/etc.
If you only want to play on BDSP, you shouldn't need Sw/Sh since afaik, all 493 mons should be available. If you want to do Sw/Sh battling though (which you'd want if you get into vgc most likely, since all official tournaments are Sw/Sh only), then you'd probably want it + the DLC. Actually breeding and training teams is piss easy these days, you can crank out a few 'mons in an afternoon if you really tryhard it while watching a movie or something.

Is it possible to breed with hidden abilities, or what will i need to do if I jump down the hole of IV's?
Nah, I ain't in it for the money. I'm just slowly getting back into Pokemon after gen 4 and was gonna do some things for fun.Just as a heads up, the official games have both singles (which is just normal battles with whatever ban list they decide) and doubles (also known as VGC), with doubles being the official format for all the big important tournaments that you can win cash from. Singles vs Doubles are really different, so it's all a matter of personal preference unless you wanna go pro, then you just do whatever big daddy N says. Setup Sweepers have a much harder time in doubles, though, since it's a lot faster paced and not as kind to pokemon with achilles' heels.
Smogon has a whole big article here about breeding in gen 8, which should probably be pretty useful.
No,Do we know if the remakes have improved some mons movepools yet? The mongs refuse to give Empoleon Roost despite giving it to Dodrio who is also a flightless bird. Mantine has access to Roost and plenty of non flying types do as well so I think they just hate Empoleon.
SWSH was good for expanding a lot of movepools with TRs but with TMs reverting back to single use I'm not hopeful.
Roost, from what I've gathered, is usually reserved for either flying type pokemon or pokemon that vaguely fly like flygon.Do we know if the remakes have improved some mons movepools yet? Also the pokemon are on Gen 4 learnsets. Not modern
But Dodrio can use Fly despite not having wings because reasons. Also I want Torterra to learn Shell Smash.Do we know if the remakes have improved some mons movepools yet? Actually they do have wings if the dex is any indication:But Dodrio can use Fly despite not having wings because reasons. Also I want Torterra to learn Shell Smash.
Why can’t I see them then?Actually they do have wings if the dex is any indication:
They rarely use them. Why can’t I see them then?
They're small and/hidden under its plumage.Why can’t I see them then?
There was pokemon revolution that I played good while back, but I'm not sure how that's doing these days.So to cope with the crushing disappointment that is BDSP, I've turned to this mmo called PokeOne, just like I did with PokeMMO when SnS came out. I've only been playing it for a few days but its interesting, since there seems to be sidequests built into the game and raids for legendary Pokemon later on. It seems like its much more endgame focused than PokeMMO is and it also has a recreation of Kalos that I can't go to yet. Anyone else play any of these MMO-type Pokemon games?
