Hard agree. Worldbuilding is one thing but that sort of edginess can get just dumb. Divorce with Norman is also dumb. It would be way more interesting to see the family trying to stick together and cope with their new life, running into hardships but always coming back to each other in the end. That'd be real kino.
So you're denying the history of absent fathers, saying it's not very dark being raised by a single mom?
Little wonder Red never says a word.

Maybe I am too influenced by Pokemon Special, since this kinda happened to Norman as he took the blame for Ruby's action and was banned for being a gym trainer and had to capture the escaping salamence that ruby released. But I like this type of cool dad that accepts the higher responsability even when it isn't something that he wants himself, he never said anything about what happened and just took the blame.

PokeSpe is fun, but it's completely at odds with the main series and any attempt to cross them over is always incredibly edgy and autistic. They're just tonally incongruous.

Even the darker stories in pokemon like PMD or BW are just written and framed in completely different ways, you really have to approach it from a specific voice for serious topics to not sound retarded.

Edit oh tbf Z-Moves are boring as heck.
Z-moves and megas in the same game were actually awesome.
Idk maybe my perspective is a bit off because I prefer to play competitive battles and tournaments but it’s all been dogshit since the move to the switch. Sword and shield were alright but it felt too shallow and making mon giant is fucking gay.
Turning them into crystals is fucking gay! The potential type change can be good in a very specific instance to neutralize a hit but the loss of your STAB is way more significant.

Legends was really fun to play but it’s not a serious game for people that want to place in worlds.

What really sucks is that the only actual resource to get new players introduced to the PVP is a 3rd party website filled with pedophiles and troons (showdown and Reddit)
Wolf dick is going to be running the show to an increasingly small competition scene forever

Personally I dont really play online so maybe that's why I don't like them so much. Tera is my favorite gimmick though because it gives you so many options and on every single pokemon. In theory, a defensive tera at the right moment can make any pokemon viable really because it happens at the start of the turn. It also let's you give pokemon that are crying out for certain types what they deserve, like Luxray and dark type (he still kinda sucks, though). It also gives you an extra slot to hold your tera type so you're not wasting an item, and you can do it with any of the six which allows you to adapt. Plus, you can do stuff like tera poison with something you don't mind sacrificing and swap in and out to soak up toxic spikes and stuff like that.

I don't know, to me, the other gimmicks just purely buff your pokemon (not you, mega Garchomp...) But tera only really helps if your strategy pays off and that's kinda cool to me. I quite liked the tera raids as a change of pace aswell sometimes to break up the gameplay loop, although like I said I don't do online so I just pulled in bots.

Then again, I'm the guy who said they not only liked Let's Go but wanted a sequel, and I'm a gen wunner, so maybe I'm just retarded.

Anyone else like tera the most?

Making Chatot scream obscenities in battle was my favorite gimmick. I guess teratypes are pretty good though.

Lol oh man, and the louder you shout "cunt", the stronger the attack is, right?
Yes!

No, really. The louder the voice clip, the higher the chance of causing confusion.

I might be misremembering but didn't somebody use a Chatot at a tournament or something with a swear and that's that for Chatot? Or maybe it was just the online play.

And now, like we went over earlier, you can't even call your rival "Dick" in single player. Sigh!

Got back go reading Pokémon Special Black and White, Holy shit I didn't expected this level of NTR and betrayl

Way better than the game version where you just ride the ferris wheel and fuck off. Would be nice if a random pokemon of your party just leaves you straight up in the game.

I also like Aldef way more in the manga than the game. I also liked how the Elite 4 appears early and have story participation. In the game, I just fought them and that was it, here they have a more active participation.

I also didn't expect White and Black to split up.

I am loving the manga so far.

I always wanted to do that, but for some reason no matter what I did, my DS always made Chatot's cry sound like gibberish. Not sure if it was me or the DS mic, would have been fun to abuse in online play.

I like seeing people's favorites because I'm surprised how much of a mix there is between cute pokemon and pokemon that are good in the game. I thought some people, maybe more "serious" players or guys, would lean mostly toward good in the game pokemon or "badass" ones, but it seems most people like a mix of cute pokemon and others.
I'm a mix myself. I favor cute pokemon, but there are a lot of strange choices like buzzswole and alola exeggutor I love unreasonably.
I've definitely got a few that are still controversial *coughcoughVanniluxeGarbodorcoughcough*
I LOVE vanilluxe line. I can't say much about garbodor, but I did almost put it on my chart because I didn't like the other choices of that Gen.

A lot of the newer ones I don't know so I didn't pick any or just picked one that looks cool.
The only one I like a lot that didn't get an appearance on my chart is Comfey. I really love grass and ice pokemon, with fairy type being a close 3rd

I have been playing X for the first time and just got to Laverre city. That city and the swamp outside are really comfy. I love cool locations in these games, it's a big draw for me.

My "dream team" is essentially if I'm feeling old-school via HGSS or more modern. I explicitly like three-stage mons and badass animals because I'm secretly a ten year old boy:

Charizard/Incineroar, Feraligatr, Torterra, Luxray/Nidoking, Mamoswine/Ursaluna, Salamence.

I definitely want a three-stage cat mon but not both (hence Nidoking) and I admit Charizard is my very first pokemon but Incineroar is a tiger as my fave animal - ironic since the fire starter is meant to be my Main of Mains. Mamoswine and Ursaluna is just which I think is cooler at the moment as a ground-type heavy-hitter.

....I've noticed there's a ton of awesome three-stage reptiles, amphibians, and dragons, but a lack of "cool" mammalian species or they're too humanoid when they do come around. I kind of wish the old electric tiger Rentora line was real to split the difference on Charizard and Incineroar so I could have a tiger mon and Charizard together, bonus since it would've been a Gen 1 mon as well.

EDIT: Believe it or not I'm not, above taking in suggestions what you guys think is the best/coolest between the slashed mons above.

Don't they keep the stab?

"Offense: your Pokémon keeps the same-type attack bonus (STAB) for its previous types, and gains it for the Tera Type. For example, if my Salamence (Dragon/Flying) terastallizes into a Fire-type, it will keep Dragon and Flying-type attacks with a 1.5x boost, and now Fire-type moves will also gain a 1.5x extra power. If the Tera Type matches any of the base types, then that type gets a 2x boost."

Or am I wrong and there has been a patch to change the mechanic?
