I don't think this Romhack of Pokemon Red by our own @Midnight Cooking in honor of now incarcerated Gamblecow Bossman Jack got posted here so here it is.
This guy just had to get arrested right before I finish this project :lossmanjack:

I'm going to post it anyway. I made a rom hack for Pokemon Red themed around Bossman. After one night of extreme violence, you punch a hole in your wall so deep that it reaches into another dimension. Enter it, and find that you are transported to a world of gambling. Gamble for funds, build a team, and defeat the head rigger so you can purchase your Magic Rocks.

Back when Gen 2 was new, there was the "old" pocketmons and the "new" pocketmons (and "Pikablu" with the latter). Also I recall looking in some magazine and seeing a scan of a Chinchou or Lanturn card and figuring out the Electric and Water type pairing, which I thought was cool... in a bookstore in a mall. This was definitely around 2000.

God, the Gen2 beta mons were 10x more cooler than what we got. Farfetch'd Evolution, Octilley looking like an actual tank. a Fire/Water Seel, being able to play as Slowbro's/Sloking's entire shell.

it sucks that either we still never got any of those things, or we did but gameFreak found a way to fuck it up (e.g. Sirfetch being a region evolution only instead of o.g. Farfetch'd getting one also)

As someone who played SuperGold 97 recently , the romhack that takes what was in the beta and finishes it into a complete game, I can safely say that it felt much more like a proper sequel than the retail GSC. Don't get me wrong, I like those games, but they felt...less connected than they could, sorta like the future titles were each doing their own thing and instead of having one cohesive franchise it is divided into "generations".

The designs are inferior because because the lead behind the first set of Pokemon games gave over control to Matsuda at some point during development, which is when Gold and Silver we know today starting shaping up. I could be wrong on this, but this is what I remember reading. My biggest complaint was the lack of balancing, the infamous leveling curve and some Pokemon being straight up useless. Gen 2 was a mess, for better or for worse the next two gens would be a lot more organized than this and knew what they wanted to improve upon right away.

Emerald rouge makes me RAGE!

Here i go, with a Tyranitar, Salamence, Raichu and Typhlosion, thinking im hot shit. then this pussy Falkner shows up and i think "lol this will be a sweap". Raitchu dies to a farfetch'd. a FUCKING FARFETCH`D! raitchu got crit not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES IN THE ROW! RIP! stopped fucking around and bring out Tyranitar and he dies to a Honchkrow with a superpower! battle ends with only Salamence standing. on the six gym but its over. its totally over.

had a Kingler that carried me in the beginning but he got destiny bond by a Delibird. RIP.

Guarenteed it was holding a Stick/Leek.... like for real, and not just because it's in his sprite.

P.S. that crit boost is by 2 stages, not just 1

EDIT:
Not sure if Emerald Rogue uses new-gen mechanics, but this is the cherry on top

Thats a thing with this game, alot of mechanise that are in the later gen is still on even if you only have gen 1-3 mode on. hell, some of the different variations of pokemon from later gen is also present.

I took part in Go Fest’s events earlier today, I liked the boosted Shiny rate and the UB raids but it felt weird to not see other raids instantly filling up. Tomorrow‘s going to be interesting considering that the UBs are gone (unless you shelled out five bucks to get the Raid research ticket) and the only 5-Star raids you can take part in are Dusk Mane/Dawn Wings Necrozma raids.
Summer break (for kids anyways) is here, and with it some events have been announced for SV.
(Note: all dates in the post are JST)

Raid:
Unrivaled Pikachu Rerun (Water)

Mass outbreaks:
Pichu (Paldea)
Pikachu & Mimikyu (Kitakami)
Raichu & Alolan Raichu (Blueberry Academy)

Raid:
Unrivaled Dondozo (Water)

Mass outbreaks:
Tatsugiri Curly form (Paldea)
Tatsugiri Droopy form (Kitakami)
Tatsugiri Stretchy form (Blueberry Academy)

Raid:
Gimmighoul Rerun (various)

Mass outbreaks:
Wattrel (Paldea)
Riolu (Kitakami)
Comfey (Blueberry Academy)
(Note: The above three Pokemon have an increased chance of bearing a Pumped-Up mark)

Raid:
Unrivaled Dragonite (Normal)

Mass outbreaks:
Larvitar & Bagon (Paldea)
Goomy & Hisuian Sliggoo (Kitakami)
Beldum (Blueberry Academy)
(Note: The above five Pokemon have an increased chance of bearing a Charismatic mark)
If Serebii is right these Mass Outbreak events are also Shiny-boosted as well, going by what I’ve seen on Twitter I’m assuming it’s true.

You mean there's an even greater chance of encountering shinies?
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case tbh, I found two shiny Pikachus yet can't rob a single Light Ball.

Would recommend against Miltank since its sprites involve a lot of "this Pokémon is lactating and really enjoying it" shit that is probably fetishistic, with a bonus warning against Sylveon because the people making these sprites come from places where it's more of a trans icon than it is an actual Pokémon.
You forgot about the Ho-oh ones. They clung to that like flies and turned it into pride shit, too.

Yep, the Shiny rate's boosted to a base 0.5% chance for these outbreaks with the boosts provided by Shiny Charm/Sandwich Power/number of Pokémon cleared applying after that 0.5% chance fails.

Has anyone ever bothered with the Trainer Hill in Generation 3? I am finished with the main game and am currently collecting all the new Pokemon the romhack adds. The Kanto starters, as well as Celebii, are locked behind completing Trainer Hill in under 12 minutes. No matter what I do, my team takes 25-30 minutes to complete the challenge, so I am clearly doing something wrong.
I know there is a way to cheese this with a Jolly lv 5 Dragon Rage Smeargle, but I wanted to know if there is another good strategy or team complete the challenge.

I know Pokémon Sleep is basically a non-game, but I love how much better it's handled than Go. Updates with new Pokémon happening every month or two, events that you don't need to buy a ticker for, constant QOL updates, free items being given away pretty often, especially if some bug occurs as a "We're sorry!" thing. There's still a shop for real-world money to be spent on and I'm sure if you could transfer Pokémon from that game to Home there'd be scummier practices going on, but it's just funny to me.

They also spent four years working on it which is unheard of for other Pokémon projects.

Oh, what the fuck, you're right. Made Togetic trans for some reason and everything. :(

Good thing I'm not a huge fan of most Legendaries, I guess? I never bothered to check Ho-oh because I've always thought its shiny sprite was so unreasonably superior that i'd be disappointed with any fusion the base palette was a part of. Seems that I was correct, only in the wrong way. The tainting of the otherwise-pure rainbow symbol continues.(:_(

My sincerest condolences to fans of the big rainbow bird. I hope it never reaches Sylveon levels of tainted.
