They are not PETA and nothing else. If you pay attention closely, Team Plasma was a full on hostile communist dictatorship. It wasn't that they were hypocrites. They were INTENTIONALLY hypocritical to show this group was only using people's morality as a weapon. That's why after Ghetsis' big speech, the very next scene is Team Plasma beating up a Munna. That wasn't sloppy writing or by mistake. If you pay attention closely, your main cast of your character and friends never for a SECOND in the entire game entertain Team Plasma 's bullshit. They know it's BS and they aren't buying it. That's why you get a legendary dragon in the first place.

I've literally never heard anyone joke about that. Also who cares about an interracial couples in a video game that has screentime of all of 2 seconds and isn't a main character?

Okay, what about the plot of Sword and Shield? Yeah, Kek, I know. But if you actually do pay attention to the plot of Sword and Shield, the plot is Rose trying to avoid future calamity by burning the present world to the ground. All because the current world is using too many resources and they're facing an energy crisis in a thousand years. To which Leon says thats fucking insane. Hmm...I wonder if there's a real world metaphor for that.

Nah, can't be. It's not like there's an organization of rich powerful elites like Rose trying to burn our world to the ground in the name of preventing a future climate catastrophe. That's purely a work of fiction.

What plot? SwSh doesn't have one, the game is incomplete. They were writing up Rose to be some sort of well-meaning villain like Lysandre but failed to deliver the punchline...because the game isn't complete. None of the plot is, they had bits and pieces and were forced to ship the game as-is with none of them connecting or making any sense. SwSh has the least to say out of all the games and it's only purpose is to be the "First 3D Pokemon Console Game"(let's forget GC titles exist) and to test the waters for dexit/DLC. That's it, Galar is as wasted of an idea for a region as the new one that is so irrelevant I forgot what it was called. To Galar's defense at least they did the whole angle of making the gym challenges feel like big spectacles, and that's what the entire game should have been about.

Have you seen Kalos? It's full of niggers. He wanted to kill all of them to make "the world pretty" or some bullshit. That's the only explanation why he wanted to kill so many people so quickly for no reason, and I quite approve.
That, and when you bring this up, this seems to trigger quite a few pokemon fanboys. Great way to start a conversation in a Pokemon villains thread.

Well, Rose is pretty damn specific about what he wants to do. There's no mistaking his dialogue. Sure, it comes out of nowhere and makes no sense. But the message of "Don't burn the present to maybe save the future someday because it's fucking retarded" is clearly there. They went out of their way to make sure that part made it into the game. So, they clearly WANTED to tell that story. Otherwise they wouldn't have left this cutscene that's very clearly inspired by climate change being absolutely ridiculous, in the game.

Agreed, but I think I've seen it all when someone claims a Pokégirl having a major role in a core-series game might mean something more than the fapbait they become seconds after they're revealed in a trailer.

To be fair, if we're talking about Gen 7, there was massive speculation at the start that many characters were secretly going to be Ultra Beasts in disguise, since many shared similarities to them visually. If that were the case, there could have been a plot reveal that Lillie was a bad guy or a stalker child UB all along at some point, maybe even pointing out that UBs have been hiding among us for years before.
Of course, that would take a competent writer to pull off, of which Gamefreak has none. They know where the money is at, and that would be the coom.

Instead, we get an actual Pokémon being the first core-series game antagonist, with a boss battle in Ultra Megahallway that people still have to cheese, even in a casual playthrough.
 
I do like the fact since we know they aren’t going to do completely new starters and we are in Franch our starters are all but confirmed to be Snivy, Piplup and Torchic

It's about time we just started reusing old pokemon rather than adding dozens of useless or straight up OP ones every gen, there is never any middle ground with those since I would say Gen 6. GC games don't add any new pokemon, unless you count the shadow variants, and those games are just fine.
Regional variants I am okay with, it feels nice to breathe some new life into some of these Pokemon and give the region it's own flavor while we're at it.
