I saw people unironically say long Raikou was stolen off fan design, and this is why a lot of popular ideas can not become canon: GF will get into trouble for design theft.
The more fangames with Coolass Mcdragon, the less of those could become canon.

Honestly, I think that the paradox mons were just the devs trying to milk the fanbase for even more money with as little effort as possible.
New variations of old Pokemon are one of the few cool things they started doing, and now they're even fucking THAT up. Pokemon needs to be handed off to new developers, let Monolithsoft handle it or something.

I'm just going to leave this here:

The existance of specifically the prehistoric Paradox mons makes me wonder why they didn't make more Ancient Power cross-gen evolutions like Gen 4 did.
It led to things like Mamoswine or Yanmega and those designs were great, especially the latter.

Because it's Game Freak who can't reuse good ideas to save their lives.

To be honest I want to do my own take on Raikou because the design pisses me off that much. The silver lining to this is I've never felt so vindicated for abandoning pokemon now. There's a strange sense of satisfaction knowing that whenever I boot up Pokemon Crystal I got to experience the glory days and nothing can take that away from me.

Warning, mini rant incoming: There's no way anybody can look at these Pokemon designs and convince me they're good. That Raikou-looking...thing...is the most dogshit monster design I think I've ever had the displeasure of viewing in any game ever, let alone just Pokemon or its clones.

There's no words for how bad this shit is. Some Pokemon loyalist is going to point to Grimer or Jynx with tears in their eyes and say the series always had weaker designs here and there, but no. Grimer is an artistic masterpiece and work of creative genius compared to the AI generated filth they're spewing out here.
...I kinda like it. I'm a Violet bro so I can't get it and I don't care enough to trade for it, but yeah it's weird I kinda like it. Maybe it's because ever since I was a child I hated Raikou's face and hair for some reason.

Now this freak has a thunder cloud to cover that shit. I'll say this though I wish there was more to the Violet Paradox Pokémon besides being a robot. You can look sleek but if everyone is a robot it makes it less special.

Team globohomo takes no prisoners.

Okay, hear me out.

This design sucks hot sweaty donkey balls. It sucks dick. It is awful.

But I don't hate the premise.

It has the same problem (almost) every single gen 9 mon has, where it's actually a pretty great idea with the most god-awful, almost-intentionally-bad, horrendous execution that they could ever think of.

Raikou as a sauropod with its literal head in the clouds as a Past Paradox? A Legendary with its head in the clouds to symbolize a possibly-fictional older time period? That's really clever! I really like that! It's kind of stupidly literal, and it'll look goofy just by virtue of looking like a Sauropod, but I think it's pretty creative!

Now, fellow sneeders, how exactly do you think such an idea could be messed up?

How about by... copy-pasting Raikou (a feline)'s existing head and claws onto it (a reptile/avian) with no change to the facial structure or paw structure whatsoever outside of making the feet bloated and exaggerated?
1691681524453.png 1691681735674.png

How about... emphasizing this mismatch by extending the whiskers for no real reason other than to hammer home its typing?
1691681893344.png

How about... by adding random accessories that don't emphasize or add to anything to clutter up Raikou's already-cluttered design (nothing against Raikou, it's just that the stripes make its design busier than most like it)?
1691681639072.png

Or by making the colors of an already-bright design even brighter to the point of oversaturation?

You could also mess up the body shape for whatever reason, making the neck stick out like a sore thumb and the legs look completely broken...

...you probably get the point by now.

Honestly, part of me almost admires the audacity this thing's designer had to present it as a properly thought-through and finished Pokemon. I'm also not certain this frankenstein approach isn't intentionally-done to make the thing look abnormal.
But considering how extremely lazy the rest of the Paradoxes are, and the philosophy behind most of them seeming to be "QUICK GIVE AN OLD POKEMON ONE NEW TRAIT AND WAY BRIGHTER COLORS" instead of "frankenstein monstrosities meant to look intentionally out-of-place and prehistoric", I highly highly doubt this thing was thought about long enough for all that shit to be intentional.
