Apparently, the Elite Four's theme is bugged, as it repeats only the intro part of the song:

Is this a first for these games, where even a song bugs out?

I was just about write a post complaining about the Elite 4 being awful (terrible music being one part of it) and when I went to YouTube to re-listen to the theme I thought "wait, this is actually pretty good, am I going insane?". When I was fighting them I only got the first 13 seconds of the theme on endless repeat.

I think the worst part (if the music worked) was that all the fights occurred in the same bland sterile room. The theming of each member's chamber in X/Y was good enough to get a Smash Brothers stage while in this it reminded me of where I took karate lessons when I was six.

This is a pretty fun game having not played pokemon in years. I don't know why someone would try grinding the whole game out but its a solid pick up and play when you have time. Enjoyable music, graphics...yeah. I see the frame drop rate issue and the other graphic problems but its still nice to look at when playing (imo).

I haven't played any game since like...AlphaSaphire so it could be my lack of experience but the game is solid.

What was the audience opinion on Gigantamax Pokémon? From what I heard it was so shit it was outright banned in Competitive play.
They found the concept exceptional, since that is just Pokémon getting YUUUUGE. Th exception is furries (who like the growing-to-giant-size trope) and Nipponese people (who like and make Kaijuu films).

Finished the Main Game Yesterday
S/V had potential and I do like the game but the technical issues and the seemingly barren overworld really held it back for me. The characters are pretty forgettable too imo. This might be a hot take but I want another asshole rival like Blue or Silver. Also its really odd that nintendo got customization right on the first try but now you have to go to 8 different stores. It sucks that a series I've grown up with since FireRed is steadily getting worse

At least some of the new pokemon are cool

Believe me, this take is so cold its temperature is matched by Antarctica.

Why do people keep thinking this? Nintendo publishes the games. Game Freak are the ones who develop Pokemon. This is their mess, not Nintendo's.

I didn't hate it. I loved Megas so basically combining them with Z-moves and then turning them into kaijus was alright with me. But I think the general population pretty much hated everything about SwSh because of the National Dex fiasco

Beat the game. It didnt run good, it did not look good (granted I did not seem to have a 10th of the problems others were having) but ive got to say, this was probably the most fun ive had in pokemon since they jumped to 3d.

I have to remind myself Gigantamax is the more "special" type of Dynamax, and I just think it's retarded for Pokémon. This makes sense for something like Digimon because Digimon are made of fucking data. The vast majority of Pokémon are supposed to be flesh-and-blood creatures. Mega Evolution has been stated to hurt the Pokémon, so I don't know how it is Pokémon also don't get hurt Dynamaxing or even Gigantamaxing where they literally take a different shape for a few turns. Eternatus being the reason behind it still doesn't make sense, I don't even know if they ever truly explained the mysterious cosmic powers of it that allows Pokémon to bloat up to ridiculous sizes. If they were more like holograms as a form of presentation, I think that'd be rather neat given the stadiums and sports theme of Galar, but since they're not, and that only certain Pokémon can go into Gigantamax (much like Mega Evolutions), it doesn't make sense from a world-building perspective.

Z-Moves were better because at the very least, it's implied to be a natural occurrence in Alola (and perhaps natural in general since Mew has an exclusive Z-Move and yet doesn't have a Mega Evolution, so y'know, Mega can suck my taint). Although waiving them off as "Oh lol that's the Ultra Beasts' doing" really undermines the message of the strong bond between humans and Pokémon coexisting together. You know, the one where a skilled trainer helps to bring out a Pokémon's greatest potential? We're just going to ignore that to say that fucking aliens/interdimensional beings are the ones behind everything and not love? Gag me.

This has never been a hot take as far as I can tell. I would love to once more have a rival you just want to beat into the dirt because they couldn't stop running their stupid mouths.

It's a hot take in Game Freak's mind. What was that quote from Masuda? Oh yeah, "we made your rival a jerk in the early generations to make up for the lack in graphics."

Yeah, it's kind of like a bad movie like Mortal Kombat (1995) in that regard. You can tell people on the team cared an awful lot, but you can't save passion from a bad producer.
