I've gotta say, I'm digging how some of these names have roots in Hawaiian words. For example, Tapu Koko is a combination of tapu (Hawaiian for sacred or holy) and kokō (Hawaiian for the sound of chickens cackling). Popplio is a combination of pōpō (Hawaiian for ball), and ʻīlio-holo-i-ka-uaua (Hawaiian for the Hawaiian monk seal; meaning "dog that runs in rough water").
And then there's Drampa, which is a dragon grampa.

Vikavolt looks pretty cool.

My favorite Pokemon is and always will be Scyther

Pokemon GO is live in North America. I just downloaded it; seems interesting so far. It's too late for me to walk down the street or anything, but I already see two Poke-spots and a gym within walking distance of my apartment.

Ugh, Pokemon Go seems really buggy to me. So far I've only gotten a Charmander and a Pidgey, but my brother's gotten those and a Bulbasaur, a Nidoran, and another Pidgey. We walked around our neighborhood for a bit and he tried to point me in the right directions but the Pokemon would just not show up. Also, I kept getting error messages and stuff because apparently the server is pretty overloaded right now.

I'm just salty (literally) because even though it's nighttime it's 82 fucking degrees out with enough humidity to fill a lake, so I got drenched in sweat for no reason (:_( Anyway, hopefully things will improve soon.

I'd sad because I have no andriod device to play pokemon GO on
I assume it needs data to work to and like, fuck that I ain't spending money on data

I had a Pokestore across the street from me that gave me a Pokemon Egg, so that was pretty cool.

They announced another new Poke'mon; Poison/Fire salamander that can apparently poison any type with it's ability Corrosion.

I don't know if this will override the Comatose ability Komala has, though, but I'm glad for the new unique dual-typing and it's ability would make competitive battles pretty interesting.

Edited to clarify a few things and insert an opinion.

They're showing over powered abilities already.

I wonder if they're making even more abilities better than that

Skarmory is getting boned hard this gen. Thousand Arrows finally getting released(I'm pretty sure 10% and 50% Zygarde with Aura Break instead of Power Construct won't be banned to Ubers), and now it can be Poisoned by Pokemon with the corrosion ability, making it harder to keep up its usual shuffling shenanigans

I'm thinking Pokemon Go, like every other app, will be a passing fad for me. But it's whatever, it's fun for now.

I've caught Charmander, Caterpie,Rattata, Pidgey, Cubone, and Beedrill so far and I just started this morning....need to find a damn Scyther and a Lanturn

The important question with Salandit, will Corrosion work with Toxic Spikes? Also, I wonder if this is something unique to Salandit or will they introduce similar abilities for a Fire and Electric type?

You can actually play Go in the car. I did it earlier today (wasn't the one driving ofc) and caught some. The GPS just tracks the car's movements instead of your own.

If a water type happens to show up near my pool, I'm gonna flip.
