It's strange considering at the start of the outrage, he was actually onboard from what I saw but now he took an extreme 180. I guess he wants to kiss up to studio lazier than current day Bioware to stay in their favor. He's been going around trying to debunk all sorts of arguments with nitpicks of them.
That or he was directly threatened by them. He's so deep in bed that they probably told him to clam up about the criticisms or else, hence the suspiciously swift about face he's pulled.

That seems possible. With Nintendo and GF backed into a corner because they need to release the next wave of 'mons for the card game and anime, they have to double down and yank the leash they have on their lapdogs.

Look up 'nessa whitewashing' on Twitter and enjoy the autism.
I feel like this should be expanded on. This started when two artists drew Nessa in their own way, one was Merryweatherey with this comic (Archive).

Both had a ton of SJWs whining about the skintone they gave Nessa. One even tried to edit Najuco's picture to make her darker.

I think they're both cows, but until it's discovered Joe has been preying on his young userbase as well (I'm not aware of any secret subforum on Serebii), Archaic is the bigger lolcow, especially since Bulbagarden closed off half the forum to non-members after the Metokur video.
Well there was that whole bit about him claiming that not gaining any experience during your first Pokemon battle in Black and White was a funky little gimmick. It's actually the result of the game failing to get response from the cartridge's infrared communicator, a very clever piracy measure that revealed Joe was using an emulator and a ROM to cover the games at the time.I think he may have also covered the XY leaks that originated from copies sold via a Canadian mom-and-pop store breaking street date a good 10 days before the games came out, that may have gotten him into a LOT of trouble as well.

Can I just say that bringing back all Pokemon won't mean much if the postgame and online are still shit?
I hope that the postgame isn't "Looker wants you to do some shit" like it has for the past two generations. Pokemon Interpol is an interesting idea, but not if it's being relegated to an excuse to have some kind of postgame side quest.

In the mainline games Johto games had the best postgame but taking all Pokemon games into account I'd say Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 did. In fact, even though they made Primal Dialga the final boss I'd argue that the post game isnt the post game at all and rather a continuation of the story.

I don't think continuing the story woyld work in a mainline game but there's a huge difference between "you beat the final boss but the game's far from over" and "well fuck, guess there's literally nothing left to do but catch some legendaries."

Endgames are always more fun than before the Elite Four tbh if you don't use legendaries.
Way more team choices, more challenging battles, cooler areas sometimes.
HGSS was great cause you had access to so many pokemon before even beating all 16 leaders

There is some God-tier baiting going on in /vp/ right now

It's ironic how these are the same exact people who go on and on about (i) crediting artists, (ii) telling people not to repost nor edit their work, and (iii) to accept their artistic interpretations are all getting butthurt over an artist depicting a fictional character as being semi-lighter skinned. They didn't even make her full on white, yet of course, all their bitching and whining over nothing now spawned that very thing they hated. Truly amazing.

I noticed that there's one thing that was cut from that context with that dolt who edited Najuco's art... And felt it should be posted.

"Feel free to take down your racist artwork and apologize and I'll gladly take down mine. After you"

Just figured it'd be good to have that there too, since it has this dumb cunt actually calling the artist's work racist.

Oh wow. We've reached peak levels of pathetic:

A Twitter artist drew an extremely racist depiction of a Black ‘Pokemon Sword’ character
Archive

Pokémon fans got a tantalizing look at some of the new details in the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Nintendo Switch games during Nintendo’s 2019 E3 presentation earlier this month, which will be released in November.
One character in particular had fans particularly excited—a dark-skinned Water-type Gym Leader named Nessa—for adding some much-needed diversity to the franchise.

The reveal of Nessa makes her the second confirmed Gym Leader of the Galar region, following the announcement of a Grass-type Gym Leader named Milo.
Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time before toxic gamer fandom struck, in the form of a Twitter artist who goes by @Evulart—who is known for shockingly explicit, NSFW gamer fan art. On Thursday, Evul released his latest “masterpiece,” which was an odious depiction of Nessa as a monkey.
“I know I know, color isn’t right. Will retouch later,” he wrote, as if that was the biggest problem with his piece, helpfully adding that a NSFW version was to follow.
It didn’t take long for Evul to get called out by comic artist @UpToTASK. “Imagine being a talented artist and yet you waste your gift on being a racist piece of shit,” he wrote, in a retweet with the offending piece of artwork.

From there, others began piling on with comments and “get the strap” memes. “There are no talented racists,” added one user. “Not true. They have a talent for pissing people off,” quipped another, not inaccurately.

Apparently, there has been some controversy in the fan art community due to artists drawing Nessa as too light skinned. It’s unclear if Evul’s depiction was some kind of extremely misguided commentary—but clearly it didn’t hit the mark.

A few others offered that they reported or planned to report the tweet as harmful or abusive, but who knows what good—if any—that will do. Given the overwhelmingly negative response in the replies to Evul’s original tweet, a good old fashioned public shaming might have to do.

"good old fashioned public shaming"
It's ok when we do it, but when we get called out on our bullshit, it's harassment coming from those bigoted trolls.

Usually artists are left wing types but things like this can really turn them the other way, so long as they don't buckle and apologize. Why, it happened to this one artist who got rejected from an art school in Austria.

Also this is pathetic. Nissa being shown slightly lighter isn't some grand white-washing scheme by hundreds of "racist" artists. Every artists has a different personal palette and color design to their art. Some choose to have pastel colors, while others might show things lighter because they have darker darks, that's how they show contrast.

For real, that drawing is pretty good.
Gotta love that vidya journos have plenty of time to write articles about a solidarity tweet & not when predominant video game journos are convicted of being child molesters.
Right now it's got more likes than replies, so it's being received relatively well.

Have any of you heard about how the translator missed out of some the info that Masuda and Ohmori stated? Apparently they said that they will have to limit the number of pokemon in not just this title, but in all the mainline games in the upcoming future in order to be able to go back to their original schedule of releasing a new game once a year.

Here's the video that explained it in a bit more detail:

What a fucking cunt. Weren't all these knuckle draggers crying that Elon Musk didn't credit art? What happened to all of those ethics in the art community? This is what you get when you give a foot to someone who doesn't deserve it, they fuck you in the ass because they feel entitled too. I wonder how they would react if you took his art & altered it while giving the same shitty response that he gave? Remember it's not stealing or forgery if it's a learning experience for the fuckwit.

Wow the years sure haven't been kind to Jem and the Holograms.

On a serious note it seems the shit storm around her "sexualized" outfit has been upstaged by "white washed" art. Fans do this shit all the time. It doesn't matter if the character isn't black if they aren't the color of coal it is considered white washing. This backlash is just going to drive people away from creating non white characters. Then they wonder why there is no representation in media.
