Y'all keep mentioning "peak fossil" and "peaker fossil", but I don't see my boy

I always find hilarious how people call Hatterene a pokewaifu when she canonically looks like this without the hair thingy

Ayyy lmao
god I love this one so much
I'm serious, learning this was her true form made the design shoot into my top 10s for Galar
The hair duo is honestly one of that region's standouts, such a unique and clever concept executed comparatively well for the slop it was introduced beside
If it debuted a few generations earlier and/or somehow didn't look as clunky it would probably be in my top 50

also this fucking drawing is so good it probably made my opinion even more favorable just by existing

Today, I completed a game's pokédex for the first time in my life. (Sword)

Random connection, but that reminds me of Ruehin—a monster from The Witcher that goes around the woods looking like a normal humanoid figure in a cloak, but inside the cloak is this insectoid demon thing that you never see until it's ready to stick its limbs out to snatch someone up.

Archeops is great, but t's over for me. I like Carracosta more. Then again, I just like Water-types more.

Aurorus is one of those better aesthetic Pokémon, but I will never ever prefer it in-game over Tyrantrum.

it's okay if you're a chick, there's dozens of us
Funnily enough, I prefer Grimmsnarl. Hatt has the sillier memes, though.

Started playing Ultra Moon today because I like how the Lunala fusion looks (and I'm going for dex completion in base Sun). Got me a Rockruff and got to thinking it would be neat to have the orange variant, turns out there's no legitimate way to get it because the thing was event distribution and the servers shut down. FML.

Grimmsnarl is peak both for somehow being the only generic oni mon, but also for its absolutely ridiculous Jojo-esque GMax.

There's a lot of new pokemon that I actually really like, but some of them I think would have benefit from being a couple generations earlier than they are. Both because they'd fit the themes better, but also because I can just tell their designs would have come out a little more polished if they hadn't been cursed with modern pokemons noodle limbs and 3D-first designs.

Impadimp is a big one where I think it'd look so much better if it were just slightly chunkier like sableye or medicham. Intellion and Pyroar would have also benefitted a lot from being designed as sprites first imo.

Seriously, what's up with the galar starters? I never remember them, and it's just m. They're all so bad as final evos...
Cinderace is fine, just boring and furbait.
Intellion is just not real to me.
Grooky is monkey.
It's like game freak just completely forgot how to make a lizard starter despite like 75% of all starter lines being some kind of reptile. Like, you guys made Treeko and it turned out fine, how the hell did this happen?

Intellion
I'm the type of guy to always choose the water starter in every generation, I just have an affinity with it I guess

... but man, those last two gens are killing me.

Sobble is such a cutie pie, and I find it hilarious that they made a crybaby as your starter, but the evolutions? I already feel uncomfortable just by looking at Intellion.

How did they manage to make a cool secret agent lizard look more creepy rather than awesome? That boy ain't no Gex that's for sure.

And Quaxly, while I think the design looks a bit "generic" for a starter pokemon, how can I say no to a duck? I love ducks! And that means, I love Quaxly!

...And then it decides to evolve to THIS MONSTROSITY!

1759212089563.webp

like EWWWWW bro, what are those saussage toes? Why is it so slim!? so... humanoid!? What baffles me again is that I love me some "carnaval", but it's once again a great idea with "uncanny valley" levels of execution.

I'm really hoping the next gen water starter has a nice final evo, because I'm tired of taking Ls man. I legit had no problems from Blastoise to Primarina. I even defended Popplio when it was clowned (heh) around when the trailers released, but man, I can't defend those humanoid freaks of nature.

I went against my better judgement and picked this piece of shit Chikorita.

Chikorita is so bad that I started using other pokémon already. Even with the pokemon at the same level as the Gym Leader, Chikorita moveset is fucking awful.

Also, every 2D game should be populated with pokemon doing stuff around the map. It really gives a different vibe to the same old routes.

Will you run into Arceus scrolling google images?

Sam’s Club is doing another Prismatic Evolutions box drop today and I’m really tempted to dip into it despite being burned by my first purchase.
Apparently some Pokemon people are able to clone their shiny miraidon and koraidon, and they're trading them to other fans.
So, that solved my code problem. :)
they don't have any retarded names like, "pokescam.com" either, and they have the cherish ball.
Eh, I’d personally avoid getting ‘em (especially if someone wants them for official tournaments since Kaphotics of PKHeX fame has said that TPCi can actually track clones of Gen 6+ event ‘mons and ban you for using ‘em).
I don’t know what it is about those shitty spam pokemon, but if I get one and it doesn’t at least have an ability patch I just delete them and don’t give them a second thought. I wish there was a way to block those bots.
You’d think that GF would add domain extensions to the nickname blacklist at this point but I’m 99.999% sure those bots would find a way around ‘em.

After looking at pokemon for a hypothetically KingCobraJFS team, I've gotta say: I'm glad these newer gens are making food themed pokemon. It's a niche that's strangle missing from early gens.

Like, look at this fucker, I love him:

PRE has been an awful set with awful pull rates and a plague of bad reprints and bulk

That and they wouldn’t bother implementing it until next game. They’ve made their sales on this gen so it’ll probably get worse like SwSh has become.

Going through the pulls I got from the two boxes I bought earlier, my pulls were...
  • Regular exs: 6 (Sylveon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Lucario, and 2 Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon)
  • Full Arts : 2 (Eri and Friends in Paldea)
  • Poke Ball holo: 8 (Flareon, Vaporeon, Spritzee, Sneasel, Dusknoir, Techno Radar, Larry's Skill, and Professor's Research)
  • Master Ball holo: 2 (Scream Tail and Great Tusk)
They're OK pulls to some extent (I actually like the Scream Tail and might use it in my Gardevoir ex deck until it rotates come April 2026, same goes for the Dusknoir but I think I already have a Poké Ball holo print in my Dragapult deck) but the SIRs still elude me, I'm still on the fence about picking up more.

I kept pulling things like flutter mane, groudon and dusknoir. I had better luck with terastal festival since you’re guaranteed an SIR, but it was a more common occurrence for that SIR to be an eeveelution. I wound up pulling the umbreon and iron valiant from the terastal festival boxes I bought.

Last week I saw someone trying to buy out those surprise boxes and I’m like why? The only hits you’ll get are those stamped eeveelution ex cards.

I've only completed USUM's pokedex and I've been playing since 2010. I'm also close to fully completing B2W2's national dex, i'm just missing the sinnoh starters and a few mythicals, I'll definitely finish it when I feel like it.

I love the troll/ogre design from grimmsnarl, and proves that a relatively simple design can be done pretty well.
