Agreed. I can't quite put my finger on exactly why, but it's like the world isn't a complete eyesore in BW. Maybe the smaller screen of the DS helped so everything looked normal? or maybe the 3d models of the outside world in BW were created/rendered better?
The background was very basic, gradient or solid coloring. It was simple but effective, here we have too much detail in a retro-minimalist style that gives you an uncanny valley effect. Just go for 3D models at this point.

Bingo, this is ORAS but trooncore(I am just going to assume it's made by trannies, because why wouldn't I?)
I found no evidence in all of hi social media that he is a troon. The most is his pronouns in GameJolt being 'he/him'. While he may be a woman in manface, those pronouns just have me feel that he is not a troon.
There i some trans hilling, though:

I dunno, BW look much better than this. The 3D effect of the environment just makes it look like a diorama or a pop-out book more than anything, which I don't like.
The 'pop-out diorama' look is actually part of the Octopath Traveler look and part of the appeal to like Octopath Traveler.

Let's see. It annoys me that there's a massive mismatch in resolution. The tufts of grass and the Pokemon are very low-res compared to the trees and the ground. If the Pokemon sprites were higher res they wouldn't look so out of place (but that would imply having the dev make his own assets instead of copy pasting the official sprites). This mismatch happens in BW as well, but the backgrounds there are much simpler so it's not nearly as noticeable.

The color contrast is also a pretty big eyesore, you've got very saturated greens on the ground and the Treecko sprite while the shadows underneath the trees are almost black. And the UI screams "graphic design is my passion", the gen 4 HP bar combined with the bright red 3DS style menu is something to behold.

Agreed, but the difference here is that Octopath Traveler actually looks good.

I noticed tha the game is being updated tonnes of times a day.
The current version is 2.3.4, and still more updates are coming.
EDIT: ...now 2.3.6.

Oh fucking Hell…

It appears that Black Bolt and White Flare will be experiencing shortages when they release in July.
Unfortunately, we've received word that Black Bolt and White Flare allocations will be much less than Prismatic Evolutions. Most stores will receive no product. This is according to one of TPCi's biggest U.S. distributors.

But there's also good news on the horizon that may explain why this is the case!

Following their initial print runs, TPCi has been busy reprinting past items like Surging Sparks booster boxes and Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Boxes. They have already started to arrive at stores in the United States. The new supply isn't as large as the original print runs, but it's still a sizeable amount. Prices on the secondary market are already dropping.

As usual, this new supply will trickle down through store supply chains over the coming months. It will depend on distribution chains how often the new supply will be sent to stores.

This latest information lines up with news in March that more Prismatic Evolutions and 151 products would be arriving at Gamestop this month.

As I've pointed out before, it usually takes TPCi around six months to respond to demand. Surging Sparks released in November and here we are six months later with additional product!

The Pokemon TCG has seen unprecedented demand since the release of Pokemon TCG Pocket in the fall. Currently, TPCi is printing future sets at maximum capacity.

It's likely TPCi will eventually catch up with demand for Black Bolt and White Flare as well. It's a special set with multiple release dates, so TPCi can release additional product over a longer period of time.

If you're a Pokemon TCG collector, it's always best to be patient for new product. Never give in to FOMO. Never pay scalpers for product. Pay attention to the short-term of course, but remember collecting is a long-term goal!
I really don’t like how the writer here says that the availability of these restocks will “depend on distribution chains how often the new supply will be sent to stores” as if it implies that they’re not part of the problem.
Whatever you've spent this most money on, is the worst.
Seeing as how I’m most looking to play then Lorcana would be the worst, meta decks in that game can reach triple-digit prices.

Ironically enough, Pokémon would be the best due to most meta decks only reaching $60-$90 price wise.

Got to play Unbound a little more after 3 weeks of not touching the game. The main story was bad as usual but I believe I finish it.

I got to the final gym and it looks like the gym gimmick is to devolve after beating an opponent. Never experienced this gimmick.

Also see this magikarp? This was a mini quests that I had to catch 30 magikarps and put in a box, after I did this he took all my magikarp and gave me a shiny one.

Unbound is such a good game that is fucked by the bad story. I really enjoy all the non story elements of the game, all side quests and things not related to the plot are nice.

Edit: the gym gimmick was quite cool, every time you defeated a pokémon he would lose his evolution moves and would gain another life bar, so a 3 stage evolution must be beaten 3 times. It was the best gimmick of the game so far but thank god it was an insect gym. Also my Pyroar was the Goat.

Now lets see the elite 4.

I thought I was going to be on elite 4 but no, the before elite 4 there is victory road that seems pretty long. I am stuck by two older fucks that have those special fields with each having a Fire + Grass pokemon with mega Charizard and mega venossaur and a very hard battle. If I use a pokemon against other type he gets covered by another.

So I decide to grind levels and guess what happened. A shiny in a full odds game. Quite rare stuff. 1000031490.webp

I tried making Lumineon work in SM meta. This thing is just way too mediocre, it should have at least gotten a Flying typing so that it would have some sort of niche. Water/Flying mon are rather rare.

I worry abou the ones who are barely recolored.
I don't mind the colors, I'm a sucker for shinies that completely change the Pokemon's color. It's just a shame that Lumineon is so weak.
Also, the shiny would be better if it were a reddish brown and had blue on the eyes and tail dot. Anyone else see it?

"Mediocre Pokemon" describes, like, 1000 Pokemon at this point.
Lumineon specifically was never that good, but the power creep has definitely gotten out of hand. You know something's up when former powerhouses like Gengar, Gyarados, Salamence or Metagross are now seen as above average at best.

Fellow Kiwis!
I was considering repeating a reoccurring mistake I make and buying a console for a single game, the Switch and either Scarlet or Violet.
I've not played since Moon (which I bought a 3DS for and got within spitting distance of a living dex). Is the game actually worth it? Will I find some further mileage in other Nintendo games? Should I get the OLED version or regular, or just wait for the next gen Switch (which I didn't know existed until looking into this)?
For the curious, I also got a PS4 for Kingdom Hearts 3. I waited 14 years for that fucker. Maybe I should just stick to PC and give up on consoles entirely. Everything non-Nintendo makes it here eventually
