We've had confirmation that the devs wanted bestiality and rape to be canon, but all of a sudden them including a Trump Pokemon at a time when he was most relevant is completely out of the picture?
It's not like pop culture reference Pokemon are out of the picture either, we've had a Hatsune Miku Pokemon in Gen 5 for example. They will include something popular if they feel like it.
My first ever playthru I didn't use anything but a Charizard(aside from HM moves on shitmons I never leveled up). He steamrolled everything and I mean everything because he was so overleveled, must have been nearly level 80 by the time I finished the game. I used up all the elixirs and ethers I had but it's definitely doable to solo the game using nothing but Charmander. Didn't lose one battle either.
In fact, there is a guy who is dedicated to doing nothing but solo runs of Gen 1(sometimes 2 and others) Pokemon, if you want to see how difficult a run with only your favorite would be

I beat Brock and Misty plenty of times with Charmander. Brock's Onix hit hard, but it didn't have any super effective moves, and I would use dig to cheese Starmie. You could also leave Cerulean to go to the SS Anne, and grind more!
But you're locked in to Azalea Town and Ilex Forest in GSC.

Part of the reason Chikorita and Charmander suck ass in their respective games (at least in the originals), while Bulbasaur and Cyndaquil do not, is because Johto uses an entirely different roster of types for it's gyms.
The ones selected for kanto - Rock, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Psychic, Fire, and Ground - only start to get hard for Bulbasaur by Gym 5, at which point you've almost certainly either added coverage or overleveled him. Meanwhile, Charmander's out here getting assfucked by starmie.
Conversely, there's an entirely different set used in Johto - Flying, Bug, Normal, Ghost (and functionally poison), Fighting, Steel, Ice, and Dragon. Chikorita never stood a goddamn chance; nearly every option is either equally bad for everyone or especially bad for chikorita specifically, with the sole exception being Chuck's Poliwrath. And by the time you've suffered through the poison and dragon members of the pokemon league and gotten to kanto, your chikorita's probably been joined by at least a good water type and the ground gym is gone - so you're still getting barely any time to shine.

They were inserting Pokémon into existing Japanese folk tales as a test for the Canalave library tales. This was never meant to be canon and was never meant to see the public eye.
Yes, because Trump was a hundred times less relevant when Sun and Moon was being made than he was when Sun and Moon were coming out. Yungoos and Gumshoos have been repeatedly stated in both interviews and official documents to be based on an up-and-coming gumshoe detective hunting a criminal (hence A.Rattata's line resembling mafia bosses with the big cheeks and the black suit and Yungoos' line having the toupee-like hair (it was supposed to resemble a detective hat)), and this was always the intention according to internal documentation regarding the designs. It was unintentional, but a funny coincidence, that they ended up strongly resembling Trump.

Green hair, a headpiece and the exact same color of eyes as Hatsune's hair. Yes, no similarities at all. It's not like she was popular in Japan at the time or anything.
The other form is obviously based more off spanish dancers, or dancers in general.

It's supposed to imply that it is the exact opposite of difficult, I even linked a channel that regularly solos the game with even the worst shitmon to prove a point.
