Shiny Raltz are not showing up as blue on the map, you need to tap them and see them in battle before you realize they're shiny. I know most said they did that anyway, but the last few Community Days have had them readily visible on the map, which is not the case today.

I have never seen a shiny on the map, you have to tap to find out.

It's been off and on for me and I've never found out any rhyme or reason to why it happens sometimes and not others. At first I thought maybe with "subtle" recolors it was just more difficult to notice with them as the smaller sprites but the different between Shiny and normal Raltz is significantly more than it was for like Larvitar, which I recall being immediately more noticeable on map. Just odd.

alright guys im done collecting for the event. evolved my pokemon and got 4 shiny ralts.

also theres a new feature to the game i caught wind of. Team GO Rocket

they're hijacking pokestops to deny trainers from using them. so you have to battle the grunt to use the pokestop again.

also. team go rocket grunts are using shadow pokemon. an element from pokemon colosseum and xd gale of darkness for the nintendo gamecube. you get the chance to catch it. and if you do catch it, you cna purify it witch candy and stardust.

now imagine if we can fight shadow mewtwo and shadow lugia in raids

I found this out the hard way when my sub 2000 CP pokemon got rekt'd by a grunt's 5000 CP Snorlax

New Gen has been added.

I managed to get a few from the new gen on today's run. Blitzle showed up quite a bit, as did Panpour.
Last Sunday there was a Turtwig community day that I didn't even know about, I just went out for my run and those bitches were popping up everywhere. I ran into a friend on the waterfront and he told me the shiny rate was 1/25. I got 5 from just checking occasionally. The region-locked 7k egg thing was still happening too, but I didn't have any luck.

I'm super lucky in that there's a gym basically at my work so I can bogart the gym all day. I wish you could stick a lure on a gym becasue I'm getting buildup of them.

The last time I've played GO was last June, I never went back. I suppose I lost interest in it now.

I feel like how much people play Go is tied to how often they walk around or whatnot.

EDIT; HOLY SHIT!

After several years of being stubborn about it I finally downloaded it at the end of July. I’m level 23 now.

I'm so pissed at myself, I made sure to walk my stupid feebas 20 km's before I got the candy to evolve it and accidentally fucking transferred it while waiting in line to get food. I have more than enough candy and a stronger feebas but only .7/20 walked and I'm so fucking over it.

What’s the point of Gible being so fucking rare? Dratini and Larvitar’s rarity was perfectly fine, rare enough that it would be exciting to catch one but not so rare that you can’t be certain it actually exists, but I don’t think there’s a single person in the local discord group with more than 2 Gible, not even the hardcore lv40’s.

It could just be a weather thing. Dragons spawn more commonly in windy weather, and I’ve only seen it be windy like one ogle two days this summer.

EDIT: Speaking of rare Dragon-type spawns...

Anybody still plays this game?
I started playing it since I discovered a mod that will let you play without walking around. It has several other neat features as well like always having a perfect throw, teleporting, and IV previews. You can download it here. Just remember to respect cool downs so you don't get soft banned.

Trainer code is 4371 7259 7737 if you want to add me.

I’ve never really had an incentive to use mods since I’ve been going out nonstop since the pandemic so I always pass by a couple gyms, pokestops, and get those kilometers for eggs and such.
I appreciate the link though and I also appreciate the trainer code but I only play in my town and if we’re going to send gifts that’ll dox me somewhat. :(

man, 2016 was a fun year. spent the hole month of jul just playing pokemon go with friends. i still see people play which i find surpassing.
The amazing part to me is that Niantic never re-added the distance tracker for Pokémon. Amazing how one could easily hunt down nearby mons when the game was released but the feature was quickly removed, never to return.
