Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the government will take steps to end the use of the Emergencies Act after it was invoked just over a week ago in response to the ongoing trucker convoy blockades and protests.

Trudeau made the announcement alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, Justice Minister David Lametti, Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino, and Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair.

Some have speculated that the bank runs done to protest the account freezing scared the fuck out of the major banking institutes and worse, the fear that Trudeau freezing the accounts of anyone who disagrees with him was making the banks shit their pants that major investors won't touch Canadian banks with a ten foot pole out of fear that Blackfaced Hitler might fuck them over if they so much as look at him the wrong way.

Alternatively, (((they))) are still going full steam ahead with WW3 in Ukraine/Russia and realized Trudeau going Blackfaced Hitler was not a good thing to have going on at the same time, since it would be a MASSIVE distraction PLUS muddy the water of the need to get the US united for war if the right started bitching that they needed to invade Canada instead due to Blackface Hitler's bullshit let alone Trudeau's own failures basically making it harder for Biden to do something similar in the US when the war starts.

Sorry but I got to ask, what the fuck are you smoking? In what world is a guy essentially declaring himself a dictator only to back down when financial and political pressure threatens to burst in the pipes deserve respect?

Like, I can sort of see where you're coming from but the fact that he did it at all, and only backed away from it out of cowardice doesn't deserve respect. In fact it deserves scorn, derision, and loathing.

Like I said, I don't approve of him seizing the power, and what he did with it. I disaprove greatly. I do respect the fact that for one reason or another, he gave it away, which is an odity both historically, and currently. A lot of other nations still have not given up their unlimitted powers.

No, that's wrong. He tried to declare unlimited power, everyone sane told him no, and he backed down. He didn't voluntarily give up anything.

Wait, was he afraid the Canadian Senate wasn't going to approve it or something, or did someone remind him that this act would just keep inciting more protests?

Either way, he already did enough damage to the Canadian people in just what, a week, with his dictatorial powers, so it isn't like it matters too much anyway.

Because a government giving up power is pretty rare.

But here's the result of the protests and the fallout: less people trust the government, less people trust the banks, and less people worship this braindead, cosplaying mimbo. They might even be starting to see why government controlled healthcare might not be a great idea if it can be turned off when you criticize the wrong people. So it's not all bad news, as horrific as this all is.
