I used to watch it when I was little because it was so trippy and it scared and intrigued me at the same time for some reason

here is everything I remember:

animated
two kids go to an alternate dimension of some sort
their guide is some strange clownlooking man (or something "clown-like") with a triangle nose
he might be blue or violet
there is this strange ethereal xylophone sounding music
all I remember is shades of orange and purple and big floating round objects
I thought it was a part of Squiggles Dots and Lines which is some weird drawing video that my grandparents had in their VHS collection about some middle aged dude who draws like absolute shit and tried to market his retarded method to the public but I watched it and the things I am remembering are not in there

This isn't a joke I keep being haunted by snippets of memories of this VHS in my dreams and I think if I ever saw it again I would scream.

I want to say it's Little Nemo in slumberland.

I remember it being part of a greater whole like a "sketch"? from a bigger video, but I might be wrong. That's why I initially thought it was part of the drawing video. iwas like two or three years old. I just remember the creepy, otherworldly music and the man leading the kids through a world of shapes and colors. The music is what has stuck with me the most. I have tried to replicate it so many times and come up with nothing each time. It is like subdued xylophone music. The closest thing I have ever heard I think was the opening melody from this Boards of Canada song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQEmaj9C6ko

When I find it and post it here, or if someone else does first, you'll know what I mean

No I promise I am not making this up, this isn't a joke at all. Though since I have been searching for so many years off and on and all the hardcore digging I did today I am starting to think maybe it is just too well hidden, like some short part of a bigger video that is completely non-identifiable with the details given (something I was worried about from the start).

It's okay if nobody can find it, I understand, though I really appreciate the help so far. Some day I will see whatever it is that keeps popping up in my memories. I really just wanna hear those tunes again because they are just so fuzzy, everything about it is fuzzy, and I just remember it being so surreal and odd and intriguing at the same time. Though has been proven to me before when I was lookng for something that spooked me as a little kid, things are sometimes not NEARLY as weird or spooky when viewed as an adult.

should warn you it's possible you've fused two memories into an impossible object. i remember like, two years ago, I asked someone on kiwifarms about an animation I remembered as a kid, and he returned with two answers. they were two separate things, but their details matched so clearly what I remembered I had no choice but to admit he found the right stuff. i just fused them into one movie in my head.

Yeah I have considered that a possibility too, though I am pretty certain this was one cartoon. I distinctly remember the man talking to the kids and everything, talking, I think, about the strange world of shapes around them. The more and more I remember it the shorter and shorter the thing seems, so at this point it is almost assuredly a small clip or segment of a larger video. I really did think it was a segment of that drawing video, but maybe the two were recorded on the same VHS or something? Back then sometimes you'd see things like that, whether intentional or not. Sometimes things were recorded over.

This would have been loooooong before Blues Clues was ever a thing, and it definitely wasn't that adorable little rapscallion. I watched it in the 1990s but I would guess from the art style to have been animated anywhere from 1978-1989. based on what limited amounts of info I still have. But thanks for helping to look! I seriously appreciate it.,
