Yes, they do. However. conversational English, the lingua franca of the internet, uses them at its own discretion*. Hence, you can escape the dictionary definition of being a retard and still have us call you that, because that's the best fit for the tone of the conversation. Is that sufficiently transparent, or do we need to get some primary-coloured pictures in here?
