Did anyone here ever play a card game called "idiot"?
-Each player gets three cards face down.
-Each player then gets eight cards in their hand, and put their three best cards face up on the face down cards. They now have five in their hand and three face-up cards on top of three face-down cards in front of them.
-The rest of the cards are put in a deck to draw from.
-Someone plays a low card first then puts that in the middle, this is the "stack." That player then draws a card from the deck to have five in his hand again.
-The next person must play a card or cards of equal or greater value on the stack. They then draw the amount of cards they played until their hand reaches five again.
-This repeats for everyone until somebody cannot beat the current card on the stack. If you can't beat it, you pick up the stack. You do not draw again until you have less than five cards in your hand.
-Once the drawing deck is depleted, you play until you have no cards in your hand.
-When you have no more cards in your hand, you play from your three face-up cards in front of you. If you have to pick up the stack with them, you do not play the face up cards in front of you until your hand is empty again.
-Once the three face-ups are depleted, you now have to pick one the three face-down cards to play on your turn.
-Once you run out of cards, you win.
-2's and 10's are the magic cards.
-10 "burns" the stack. This means that the stack is removed from the game and a new stack begins, so nobody picks it up.
-2 is a wild card. 2 beats anything and must be "covered." So if your opponent plays a K, you can play a 2 then a 4 on top of it.
This is a card game I love to play in my hometown but when I moved to the city many had never heard of it. Was wondering if this was a local gem or if it is a known game to the wider public.
