PS1 was a legit great game, sadly crippled by dialup-era netcode and the fact that Sony laid off everyone who knew how the engine worked, making it nearly impossible to add new content.
The new faction, Nanite Systems (the jews who make the white-colored weapons that any faction can use and are overall better than faction-specific weapons most of the time) were added as a way to create even more pressure against the faction who are overwhelmingly winning (most of the time the VS). However, the true purpose is to have veterans of the game a way to farm new players who choose any of the actual factions, and keeping them around by giving them a fourth character to level to Prestige 100 all over again. I quit playing around the time of their introduction.
I'm kinda sad, the beta and launch period were awesome but then the game just kinda died on the vine. Hopefully someone else makes a massive 100v100 style multiplayer shooter because Battlefield sure as hell isn't doing it anymore.
I got to gun on a bastion with my outfit a few weeks back. The changes they're making to Planetmans is good, but they need to keep up the momentum! I mean, they nerfed NC max's! Finally.
There's something weird about going back to page 1 and read fucking Null write about needing lib gunners in 2014. Man I miss when this game was popular.

No idea about the devs but it's still rather active, but I guess it's rather popularity and media relevancy that I miss. I never really stopped playing though.

I wish more people played this stupid fucking game
In Planetside 1, many many many years ago, I was a lib pilot and some random dude I picked up was both gunners. We had something like 120 kills before we finally got downed. I still look back on this fondly.
Characters in this game are anonymous right? Like if you're SomeFaggot then people can't easily find out if you're SomeOtherFaggot right? Or what Steam account is tied to it?
