wow how kawaii
All the bleachers around here are emty... COINCIDENCE?I feel like a little league practice just got pretty fucking awkward.
dude im really envious of her wardrobe why the hell can't i get cute lolita dresses ugh
well, i mean, it's more about just generally being frilly. having that kind of frill appeal was actually really popular back in the day but died out. i think lolita girls go off of the basis that if there are guys who are allowed to wear tuxedos often, then they should be able to wear frilly classy stuff (i'm more impartial to venetian lolita myself)I don't see whats supposed to be so cute about looking like an overgrown toddler. It's probably a Jap thing but I never really got the hype.
That being said I'm sure not being as wide as you are round probably ups the cuteness factor.

actually i've seen that fashion type being classified as a mixture of pastel goth and pastel candy. it's weirdIt's about half and half for me. On one hand, ever since I was an awkward teenager, I've always wanted to have an excuse to dress lolita. As a 5'6", chubbbyish white girl who likes, but isn't obsessed with Japan/anime, though, the opportunity has never presented itself (that and $$$). Plus, I found that when I tried to wear cute frilly clothes in general, I ended up looking like an overgrown tween more often than not (something Pixy hasn't quite realized about herself), especially with light colors and pastels. That's been enough to dissuade me from pursuing the kawaii-desu lolita look on a more dedicated level.
But also, I've never been a huge fan of Pixy's style of lolita fashion. I don't quite know what you'd call her category (on a serious note outside of "lolawful". Sweet?), but I've always been more attracted to the idea of gothic/aristocrat/classic anyway.
Well, basuballu is pretty popular in Japan. I can imagine Pixy is number 1 Tokyo Yakult Swallows fan.I feel like a little league practice just got pretty fucking awkward.
Not all of it is as extreme as what Pixy's wearing but even so it's not a style really intended for adultsI don't see whats supposed to be so cute about looking like an overgrown toddler. It's probably a Jap thing but I never really got the hype.

Yeah but PT LIKES looking like an overgrown tween. She thinks she's so ~youthful~ looking that if you said that to her face she'd take it as a compliment.
I will admit there are some prints I like, though, like AP's DDC. It'd be nice if the dresses were more uh...normal person friendly? There's just nowhere you can casually wear those dresses unless it's to a meet or some shit.

Yeah, me too (not so much where it around everywhere but does cosplay and stuff). Like Pixy, she isn't Asian by ethnicity at all, but she can still pull it off.I have a friend who is big into Loli stuff and wears her burando out and about just generally, like to church and stuff, but she actually does look quite young and also knows how to put outfits together that aren't horribly OTT. And also is built approximately like an Asian chick.
Why are you giving that ice cream a dirty look, Pixy? Starting to realize you're not as "petite" as you claim to be?yeah, i've never been too crazy about sweet lolita/whatev
but i suppose sweet lolita is more inherently KAWAII and JAPANESE-y than more grown-up styles, and makes a petite japenese girl like pixy look like the cutest little imouto you ever did see. dressing in granny clothes like the above would just make her look haggard, old and so very white. sweet lolita accentuates her youthfulness and japanese heritiji. yeah.
