Dude, nsanedown in the OP, it's been ages since I last heard about that site, used to be quite at the front of software piracy in a much, much better Internet era where corporations had almost no power and were mocked ruthlessly.
I wish we still had What.CD, that was truly the pinnacle of achievement for sharing culture, a library of lossless music that was better than everything corporate online by miles, and even had big bands like Nine Inch Nails releasing some stuff on them (if memory serves me right).

yt-dlp is kept more up to date. The latest version of youtube-dl is from 2021.

youtube-dl supports more sites. For those of us who bootleg CBC Olympic streams, yt-dlp doesn't work. The biggest reason it hasn't gotten any updates is because it's Python 2, yt-dlp is Python 3.

KhInsider, despite being owned by pedophiles, is a good resource for video game music downloading and streaming in a pinch. They get the music meta data fucked up all the time and it can sometimes take years for them to notice then fix.

For those who're trying to download the wizard game, XDCC will be faster since it requires more than 5 brain cells. So grab an IRC client, and join either moviegods & mg-chat, or the.source & the.lounge.
Bots with |P| in their name are passive DCC bots, and will require you to open a port to download from them. There should be more info in a pastebin in the channel MOTD.

Rutracker.org is my goto piracy site for software and other miscellaneous junk. It's all in russian and you'd need an account to search for shit, but it's pretty easy to navigate through it all if you recognize where certain things would go. Either that or just have your browser translate the page for you.

Startpage is Google, but routed through their servers, I've found it to be a good middle ground. DDG is trash now that they went woke, it used to be an okay verison of Bing.
