I can't find another piracy thread so i'll ask here.

If I pirate a PC game, do i need to boot it up on steam or will the pirated version load up without a steam/ubisoft/ea check-in?

No. If you wish, you can explicitly deny network access using the firewall. If you're on some *nix, you can deny network access using libraries that create wine bottles.

This is basic computing, which should be a prereuisite to engaging in acts of piracy. RTFM. Lurk moar.

All cracked PC games do not require steam or similar apps. The cracks are usually so good that Rockstar has been caught selling their own games on steam that are just pirated copies.

While I appreciate the reply, there's no prerequisite for piracy, don't be autistic.

TMI: I haven't pirated any game since 2003~ and haven't been in the PC loop since around the same time, except for buying a pre-built and playing old arse PC games. I stopped taking an interest in PC specs/tech when smart phones launched because tech became for faggots.

3rd'ing Monkrus is a good choice, he released Master Collection 2023 and it can be found on a popular RUssian tracker.

Whatever you do, run it in a virtual machine and don't leave any personal documents in said VM. Even if you do end up with something sketchy, it won't completely assrape your computer.

I went to Usenet for piracy a few years ago and have never looked back. I have prowlarr set up with a few indexers and my shows, movies and music get automatically downloaded with sonarr, radarr and lidarr once they’re released. Usually same day or next day at the latest. Yeah you gotta pay but I figure I’m not paying for 20 streaming services and I don’t have to manually download torrents so it’s worth it. Usenet has way more content than torrents too and I can find anything I want in whatever quality I want. Download speeds are super fast and consistent too.

That was my setup back when I used to torrent a lot. KVM vm in bridged mode with a shared folder I would mount in read only as the directory for downloaded files to go.

Anyone have a torrent for Photoshop with that new AI fill tool included? Or is that something purely online propriety and thus cannot be cracked?

Anyone know a good torrent for Cadence Virtuoso, or any other propriety ECAD? My company doesn't allow us to use our licenses for personal projects.

I use a similar setup but with Overseerr as a additional the main page to my server so anyone in my household just goes to the address med.ia/ from any device on our network to request what they want.
Then jellyfin.
We still pay for services too this is just an addition.

I messed about with usenet years ago and have thought of getting back into it.

What providers(?) would you or anyone recommend? Also how do I go about searching for stuff? I’m pretty sure the site I used to use for searching is long dead.

I use UsenetServer as my provider and NZBgeek and NZBFinder for search or “indexers”. You set up the indexers either directly in Sonarr or with Prowlarr. It can be pretty confusing at first but there’s plenty of tutorials.
