So Stern's new thing has been rereleasing one of their most successful machines, Godzilla, only making it look worse by making art black and white but keeping all the inserts the same color.

I really don't get who the market is for something like this. Even if you're a Godzilla fan all the of the good ones that people actually remember came out in color. If I'm gonna spend like $9k on a machine then I'd want some damn color to it.
 
Also someone put together a timeline of Haggis Pinball's rise and fall and basically it looks like the founder set the company up in such a way that he could run away with all the assets and leave everyone else holding the bag. So maybe directly a scam, they did make machines, but shady Australian guy who for some reason though his product would sell like hot cakes immediately.


Also I hadn't heard of this before but apparently their playfields had issues actually stress cracking just from normal installation

Don't know how the hell they managed that, I don't think I'd ever seen a normal wooden playfield crack unless someone took a sledgehammer to it. Probably something to do with the acrylic layer they put on these
 
I should have posted back when it first released but what the hell. Stern's Uncanny X-Men pinball machine is awesome. If you can find one in the wild that is properly leveled it's a lot of fun.


I went to go play some pinball at a bar the other day and there was a women's pinball tournament underway so guys were outnumbered like 5 to 1. The only gross part was that I saw a couple of legit crossdressing MtF troons and one fat chick in a "FUCK TERFS" shirt... gross. I just feel bad for the women trying to play some pinball without these freaks invading their spaces.

Yeah I'm lucky we don't have any spergs that regularly show up to the pinball tournaments I go to but it does tend to attract em.
 
How come like at least half of the new machines made by small companies have the fuckin worst art possible?

Saw this picture and thought maybe it looks okay,

But then they showed a close up of the playfield and nope, looks like they hired some on fiver to shit out the art in a day. Half the text just looks liked unedited generic fonts just plopped on top of the "art"

Art isn't the most important part of the machine, but why the fuck would someone spend $6~10K on something that looks fucking awful?

Yeah this art looks pretty bad. It's a shame because the playfield layout actually looks like fun. I hope this machine is at this year's Expo.

I thought the same thing when I saw the Funhouse remake... I love me some Funhouse but the new art just sucks imo. This artist at least has talent, I just hate the overly busy and shaded cartoon look.

Oh no I just got heckin' owned!

I'm so glad I don't play in tournaments lol. I've seen the crowd that turns up for them around here and I don't want to be associated. I just track my scores and try to beat them.
 
Saw this on Pinside, a pinball place in Atlanta has pulled the new Harry Potter machine out of their lineup after a week. I presume some tranny kicked up a shitfit to prompt this.

The new Harry Potter is actually excellent, which I think is saying something for me since I think a lot of Jersey Jack games are more about being shiny and squandering the licenses they pick up. So I think it's a shame some danger hair managed to get it pulled.

There's also been some controversy in the IFPA because a trans got kicked out of an event or something, I just couldn't care less.


In brighter news, the pinball rumor is that Stern is gonna be releasing a Pokemon machine. Will it be based on the classic anime that people who are now 35+ remember or will it just be an oversized Pokemon Go gym, who can say?

Overall I'm pretty stoked. The only people I see really bitching about it are those that thought Stern was gonna make some sort of super game that's exactly like the Pokemon handheld games somehow. Also they're mad that it has the same art style as every other piece of Pokemon merch.

Looks pretty sweet. There have been Pokemon pinball video games before, but never would I expect a real-life machine to be made.

Troons are pissed at ifpa because at a tournament in the outer banks, a desk employee told one they couldn't use the womens bathroom. Troons did what they always do and threw a hissy fit, but IFPA refused to decertify the tournament results. Ifpa didn't cave to their whims and tournaments continue unaffected without the most vocal of the crazy cross dressers.
