I recommend Williams Burroughs Jr. He wrote two autobios about growing up as his kid before he died of alcoholism.
This is all true but reading Junkie as a teenager was a fascinating experience. Really cool little time capsule of 1940s New York and the drug scene at the time.
I read his book "Speed" when I was younger about his time as a methamphetamine addict in NYC and it was one of the most depressing things I've ever read. It's basically a documentation of someone drinking themself to death and not in the Ralph way in the "my liver is failing and I need a transplant" way
She had something like 38 seniors in her graduating class in Nowhereville Wisconsin, it was not a high bar. What is impressive is that she was a very good athlete. According to the records I looked up she won Wisconsin girls state cross country championship as a freshman I believe.

Her dad hooked up with some Polish exchange student around her age. It made her decide being a craven whore was the way - to punish dad and get attention from men. She also got strung out on drugs which made the spiral x20 worse. She went from pretending to be a dumb whore to actually becoming one to pay for her drugs. Now she is a junkie whore half-heartedly trying to intellectualize it by name dropping Bukowski and Burroughs. It’s sad.
