Now that I think about it, he does mispronounce his own name in a few of the videos I have of him.

Haha, I don't think he has, though if he did, it probably would have been in high school, but he was in special ed classes back then so I'm not sure that would have been available to him. I mean, I think he road the short bus and had classes that taught him how to tie his shoes, count change, make his bed, clean clothes, not soil himself, brush his teeth (fat lot of good that did him!) and all those other basic life skills that most people have mastered by the time they're ten. Much like say riding a bike.

Also, I'm not sure when his J. Lo fetish creeped in, but I think it's been said he was actually pretty right wing back then so he couldn't be arsed to do a foreign language. It's possible he could have done it at community college but I suppose that depends whether he was allowed to pick his own electives. Truth be told,he probably wouldn't have because, as I've said before, he thinks he's the smartest twat in the room. He doesn't like being wrong or corrected, and he doesn't like other people looking to someone else for answers, like a professor. I'm sure he'd tard out over failing a test or assignment. Fuck, he'd probably tard out over something stupid like learning the genders, or basic nouns like colors (white can't be a color you racist shitlord!) or countries (how dare you include Europe on your map! I came her to learn Spanish!). Or better yet, learning terms for jobs (true and honest latinxes don't work in Phil's world, only cishet WASPs).

Also apparently Araujo isn't even a Spanish name, it's Portuguese. I would not be shocked if Phil thought that Portugal was just a city in Spain.

Something like that. The "r"s are slightly rolled too (not as much as an "rr" though). Spanish pronunciation is consistent and easy to learn compared to English, which makes Phil's "latinboo" pronunciation even more sad -- especially because he could easily look it up online.

He does, sort of, in the same way everything south of Texas is just sombreros and tacos in his mind, and Mexico and Puerto Rico are the same to him, Phil seems to conflate Portugal (and Brazil) with his weird Latinx fetish. He has posted maps of Portugal before, and occasionally mentions it here and there, not realizing that ironically France, Romania, parts of Switzerland and Belgium, and ironically, Italy would also be "Latin" and speak Romance languages. I also assume he's never heard of Andorra, or Gibraltar... boy that one would blow his tiny little mind.

Interestingly some of his map photos have included the Philippines, probably because of the historical connection as a Spanish colony... I wonder if he thinks Filipinos are 'Latinx" too. Not that he'd be able to distinguish Filipino from Spanish... Or Greek, Malayalam or fucking Cherokee for that matter. All foreigners are the same to him, especially us dark ones...
