there maybe a draw but timing is a factor. the world soccer isn't going to matter so much as the Iran war and the price of oil going up. plane tickets for one way are about 2x what they cost before the war. so if you were waiting for solid info about phase con before buying tickets, you're fucked and are getting more fucked the longer the strait is closed. so the draw doesn't pan out because of timing.
My experience with conventions has been $65-$75 for a 3 day pass pre-order and $10 extra for each extra venue / event thing and these have been established events that have gone on for at least a decade.
