Some people are saying Phase will use a gatcha system to determine what talent you are allowed to meet

That's just a raffle for a meet & greet ticket for the talent you want. I don't know where you got the idea that it would a gacha to meet a random talent.
It makes sense that there would be limited tickets for meet & greed since the time is limited. I think pre-event raffle is a better option than just queuing at the event and hoping that the time won't run out before it's your turn.

Yeah there's no way they're raffling which one you get, it seems there's initial purchases then an additional raffle after. Even the talents don't want random visitors who don't even watch them cause then they don't even know what to talk about.

>buy a ticket to a con to meet your talent
>don't win the "meet the talent" lottery that is held at some time close to the start of the con
>only other solution is to pay $200 for a pre-lottery lottery

Am I retarded? What's the point of buying a ticket to a con if you don't get access to your oshi? Seems rather pointless to go. I guess the only guarantee is wait until the convention is almost started and Phase starts selling unclaimed winning tickets, but then you either pay more for your plane ticket, or buy it early and gamble on the availability of unclaimed tickets

Does the raffle guarantee my oshi and my meeting? If so, what's the point of the raffle? Why is there another step as a guarantee when a purchase of my ticket is a guarantee of my interest in a meet&greet?

Edit: Phase announced tickets are live now

Replies are full of people who spent $200 and Phase website refuses to change their status to paid while still charging their cards. Probably will be fixed soon.

that's a jap nickel and dime scheme that the english corps took on. the raffle has a built-in psychological scarcity and FOMO element that'll bring in revenue, "if you don't buy-in now you won't get to talk to your oshi while some con staffer watches and listens to you!" but think about it reasonably: in the interest of all the talents' feelings, phase can't run a raffle for only the top girls that would need it, so every talent gets a raffle. but you're a jelly fan, how popular is jelly that her slots will sell out? medium volatility compared to a pippa, tenma, lumi, shiina but higher than a rie, lia, panko, or uruka. as you move down in talent tiers your raffle is less a lottery ticket and becomes more an event ticket. how much of the domestic phase base is going to cali for a first run mostly-only Phase related con?

you likely have okayish-good odds of getting a jelly ticket day of the meet n greet.

in short, phase has skewed fanbase numbers with the top gals getting hundreds of meet and greet fans nd the bottom rungs getting 10-15 minute conservations with each of the 4 or 5 guys that showed up.

They'll raffle each talent individually probably. Unfortunately they'll be scalped anyway so don't worry about the raffle part if you want to get one.
non transferable. i wonder if they'll let people buy multiple tickets to extend their talk time. the logical conclusion is buying all the tickets for a bench warmer so no one shows up to their meet and greet. i wonder what it'd feel like to have no one show up but finding out you sold all your slots.

No, but multiple people can agree to add up their tickets to increase time

I don't see how this can't be acomplished with just selecting your oshi at the time you buy a Phasecon ticket. While I see your point about the less popular talents, it seems the fans of more popular talents kinda get screwed. However, if they tied a ticket to an available spot this avoids the problem entirely.

that's not so bad. the thing with meet n greets is that you can have the same level of interaction with $5 superchats.

pippa, tenma and shiina have more fans than slots though. how do you satisfy those people. i'm reminded that no one bid on lu Mei's standee at an offkai, so I dont know if her fans will show up.

Imagine paying $200+ on top of the flight to Cali and the hotel bills, just to HOPE you win the rights to talk to a woman through a TV screen.

E: I've gone to cons before but spending that much on a ticket just seems insane to me.
Looks like its not open to the public either - which isn't uncommon but kind of surprising.

On the bright side, it means Phase has a large enough fanbase that this actually becomes an issue. Never had that for Comiket
comiket has the opposite problem where smaller circles will run out of books compared to the large circles.

if your phase oshi is one of the subsidized 3views you will have no problems getting a ticket to her empty meet and greet.

If you pay $210 for the ticket, you'll get snacks
View attachment 8720541
$45 for a day pass, $75 for the weekend pass, $105 priority pass
I'm not the market for this, but $210 for 2 days with what's included doesn't seem bad at all if you are the market. Aside from line time minimization, snack access is huge for crowded cons, especially ones with shit walk-ability outside the venue.

I keep going back and forth on whether Sakana is actually smart or has just been incredibly lucky, I think the convention might be the deciding factor. One can only imagine the kind of logistical nightmare planning a con must be.

Cons aren’t my thing and definitely not ones in California, but I really do hope that Phases retard luck holds out and it goes well.
