Persona community - A community that worships a fictional vigilante group. It also has tons of fanatical waifufags, coomers and people who don't even play the games of this series.

I always had this hunch that the "SMT Persona community" was absolutely riddled with losers, creeps and pedophiles, though I never did look too deep into it. You would assume pedophiles wouldn't like P5 on account of the dozens of times said people who fawn over high school girls get made fun of in the game, but I guess they really are just that dense. Sure, the character designs Atlus decided to go with for P5 are more "coomer-y" than ever before, but that doesn't make it any less embarrassing for the community to be so fucking disgustingly horrific.

Not entirely related, but it is my 100% unironic belief that the persona 4 anime is objectively better in every regard to the game. Genuinely a rare case of an anime adaptation improving the story with it's anime-original material and perfectly replicates the charm of the original story without the shit that makes the game insufferable to play. And this is coming from someone who normally absolutely hates anime adaptations of works in other mediums, even highly regarded ones like Welcome To The NHK, Trigun and Steins;Gate. Persona 5 is lame, 3 i never played.

I tried Persona 4 Golden a little while ago because of all the praise the series gets from its fans and it was one of the most annoying 3 hours of a video game I think I've ever played. I'm not surprised the fan base is full of spastic retards.
Persona is a dating sim for people that don't want the stigma of playing an actual dating sim. Most people I've spoken to, play Persona for the social sims aspect more than the dungeon crawling.

Not even the only time someone has done this. The card in this image is entirely different.

The first few hours are intentionally boring I think. It took me a few tries to get past the slump and into the actual game but once I did the only things that were able to get me to put it down were passing out, work, and the battery in my Vita dying. Basically the game wants to reinforce that you're stuck in a tiny town where nothing happens so there's an admittedly excessively long section of nothing happening before you get into the meat-and-potatoes of dungeon crawling and poké(de)mon collecting. It also has that Civ factor of "one more turn(day)" in the daily life sections where you're progressing lots of little things at once. Ranking up your stats to unlock new dialog prompts, ranking up your teammates to get them new skills and bonuses, raising vegetables that work as items in the dungeons, special events that only happen on rainy days, fusing personas so that you can have actually useful skills on the ones you like or grinding up the ones you need to fuse the personas with busted unique skills, stuff like that

The closest game to it I can think of is Mass Effect 2. Obviously very different games gameplay-wise, but the main story in both of them is pretty whatever. It's more about the party members and their stories/relationships with each other as well as Shep/Yu. If you don't care for anime stereotypes you probably won't get much out of it but if you're a weeb I think you owe it to yourself to try and get through that intro because it's a really great experience after that. 3 and 5 were fine but 4 is the most special-est one to me (1, 2, and 2-2 had a different director and are very different games so I exclude them from the comparison)

I have only played thru P5 and P4, I really liked both. I think P4 had better writing, but P5 is a better game. P5's writing really fucking fell apart in the last hours, I damn near had a stroke playing thru it. Shame that the community is filled with people that really belong in a Turkey Tom thumbnail

the guy behind it nuked his twitter to move to pedosky but there was an infamous funny spergout from this breadtuber type when people called his Persona 4 take shit

This was a minor meme in the community because of how retarded this pseud got on twitter

All i could find is the first few tweets and the final one that got copypasta-ed through discord reposts

This was apparently the length of the full thread that got nuked, I'm looking to see if there are any actual complete archives of it

I also remembered how a ween tried to get Chris-chan into the Persona games by gifting him a copy of Persona 5 (which Chris did play on livestream), and commissioned Persona art from Chris:

Chris did say that he didn't like the game, and only did the drawings because they were paid commissions.

This is actually sad because before Persona 5 became mainstream it was moderately chill for JRPG standards.

And then you have rabid hounds like Phan Skull who think that they can steer an entire community.

It also reminded me of how the Fire Emblem community went sort of the same route. Awakening and Fates/Conquest started it, and then Three Houses turned the community into Persona-levels of insane.

Next is the bigger problem, and by problem I mean having a PhD in Media Literacy is Naoto Shirogane
People get Naoto's story wrong intentionally because they want their heckin gender euphoria reaffirmed. It's pretty gross when I'd argue Naoto's story is one of the more interesting ways a female game character (especially a Japanese one) has ever been written, and is actually a compelling and good feminist arc: A girl who feels discomfort in being a girl because of her family and soycietal expectations confronting her issues, overcoming them, and if you complete her S-link, her coming to terms with and being comfortable in her femininity.
But retards and troons just see "sexy tomboy detective she's JUST like me!!!!"

I have no idea who these people are, but I've had it on my hdd for a while and it never fails to make me laugh. I feel like this sums up the Persona community in a nutshell.

persona's gay all my friends play it and they refuse to play left 4 dead 2 with me so they can play there shitty jap nonsense instead

i hate the jap brainwashing media it sucks all fans of persona are sheep and i refuse to be one and im isolated for it

Yeah I prefer the dungeon crawling to dating sim stuff. I played SMT IV at the same time and I definitely preferred it. I couldn't even get into the Persona Q games. I tried both of them when I was going through a dungeon crawler binge.

I actually wanted to try and like P4. The story seemed kind of cool like some kind of anime Twin Peaks. I was even trying to look past the intense anime bullshit but everything just kind of grated on my nerves.

I didn't really like the Mass Effect games. They were when I stopped playing Bioware rpgs. I enjoyed the Kotor games and Neverwinter Nights but could never get into Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

a thread about persona community cringe and no mention of that one fanzine organizer who scuttled off with tens of thousands of dollars in presale money and dumped it into genshin pulls?

What are the most infamous fanart/fanfictions to come out of the Persona community? Apparently, there was a guy (I think) that commissioned various artists to draw Ichiko Ohya using the toilet:

Yandere Dev made a Persona 3 fanfic where the Protagonist is a beta male who uses the Persona Lillim as a personal prostitute

Canonically, Persona 3 made it so you couldn't do any of the party member social links without hints of romantic interest so the protag is actually a wish fulfilment alpha chad who gets all the bitches, so Yanderedev going full incel for his portrayal is pretty funny

What I wonder about Persona fans that don't play the games, is it because the PC versions all have Denuvo Anti-Tamper, in addition to the usual localization fuckery that happens with Japanese-made games released in English? Or do they play the games on console, where Denuvo isn't an issue?
