I like anime and manga but I was never an otaku. Anime is shit and people who produce and consume it are shit (myself included). For every good anime there are 100 that are just garbage.
 
Just for a visual thing, and since we somehow missed with in the Random Pic thread the other day:
Specifically from 0:30 to 6:30. From what Itano's said, the Itano Circus really doesn't translate well outside of traditional animation. You can kinda see it in Macross Zero that the CGI ones are just not as good as the Macross Plus ones. I don't think Frontier had any until the movies. There's only one other series that ever really got the Circus outside of Macross, and that one starts at 12 minutes in.

And, as always, there's the whole visual style of SHAFT from SZS through Monogatari and Madoka. March Comes In Like a Lion is similar but it's very much based on the Manga. It just kills me that you have a medium that lets you do things you couldn't really do through live action and it's wasted on basic shit and panty shots most of the time.
 
Cartoons. They're fucking cartoons. Why do we need a special name for cartoons whose only connection is that they were all made in Japan? It'd be like collectively referring to South Park, Rugrats, Steven Universe and Fritz The Cat as "yankmation".

American cartoons deserve the name of 'Yankmation'. I'll be using it from now on, thanks.

Last time I watched anime, some guy was about to lose a card game and threatened to jump off a castle over it.
People who like anime seem to have a useless sense of reality that clings to drama even if it makes no sense.
As you can see plenty of people here like anime, and they're retarded.

It's the Farms, the only reason Null allows us to post as much as we do is because we're all a little retarded. His desire to laugh at retards on the internet will always have new fodder.
