Roy Moore, the Republican candidate from Alabama vying for the U.S. Senate, once slammed the United States for promoting “a lot of bad things,” and praised Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In an interview over the summer that’s getting renewed attention this week, The Guardian quoted President Ronald Reagan as once calling the Soviet Union “the focus of evil in the modern world.” Reagan made the comment during his “evil empire” speech in 1983.

“You could say that very well about America, couldn’t you?” Moore said. “We promote a lot of bad things.”

Moore then cited same-sex marriage as an example.

When questioned about the fact that Putin held similar views, Moore gave an unconventional answer for an American politician.

“Well, then maybe Putin is right,” Moore said. “Maybe he’s more akin to me than I know.”

The evangelicals can only dream of having the same amount of influence in American government that the Russian Orthodox Church exercises over the Russian government. It is no wonder they wish to emulate the Russian model of intermingling church and state

The amount of influence the church has in Russia is unorthodox.
 
lol Huffington Post and The Reagan Battalion they quoted. Huff Post goes without saying but the Reagan Battalion is a ""conservative"" group that seems to spend most of their time bashing conservatives as well as Trump. Shady shit.

Granted Roy Moore is still a shit though, there's a lot more they could go after him on rather than making up tabloid shit.

I guess since alleged kiddy diddling wasn't enough to sway the voters minds, they are resorting to the tried and true method of crying about Russia.
