All said, the ceremonies are entertaining and there's been some really cool effects. I really liked the heavy metal segment. Though all the paper streamers don't seem very eco friendly :(
 
The current speech from Estinguet is cringe. It's a shame the military and impressive technical effects were used for a such a pozzed ceremony.

The olympics are globohomo personified, the whole thing no matter who hosts is innately a psyop. Men tune in throughout the world for the performance of athletes, for nationalism, or for the spectacle, and are greeted with the message the Olympic committee needs to push that year. Then for the next four years they have a puppet gold medalist to spout some inane bullshit.

The thing that pisses me off is that national competition is a great and productive idea that inspires people to take up athletics, to represent nations. Instead of that however, we receive more goyslop from the people who have the money to influence the IOC.
