There was an assassination attempt on Fico, who was an EU skeptic. People who have anti EU views generally get ostracized and punished, but mostly it happens behind the scenes. Don't wanna derail the thread with details.

Don't get me wrong. I want Denmark to unfuck itself, but what I had seen was very bleak.

Russia allied with Hitler to divide Europe among themselves. They only 'bled' because they had no choice once the Nazis did what Nazis do and backstabbed them. Any country that ended up under their boot for the next half century only got the slightly less bad ending than if the Nazis themselves had won.

Not to politisperg but the people in here saying the Nazis were dumb or dishonorable backstabbers for invading Russia don’t understand that the Nazi program (and Fascism’s rise) was in direct response to the fear and anxiety of all of Europe’s productive and cultural classes being liquidated like they had been in Russia. Russia actively wanted to destroy any semblance of a middle class, or bourgeoise, or rich; they wanted resources and were being subsidized by the US long before the war on an economic/political basis. Why have a bloodthirsty enemy on your doorstep while your troops are scattered across Europe, two colonial empires, and trying to invade the UK motherland?

Hitler took a gamble and lost. Histfags in general get lost in the “what ifs” because they’re totally poisoned. He is reminded that he must *choose* and he hates to choose, but only wishes to *consume*. Putin reminds him that this isn’t a legitimate, worthwhile, or stable existence.

Wasn't the guy that tried to shoot Fico a pretty old pro russian rightwinger called Juraj Cintula that later swung around to becoming pro Ukrainian?
Cintula reportedly said that he opposes Fico's policies such as its plans to take greater control of the media, its weakening of anti-corruption laws, and its scrapping of the Special Prosecutor's Office that dealt with corruption, some of it involving Fico's allies. In the hearing, Cintula stated that he wanted military aid to be provided to Ukraine, which was instead blocked by the government.
Also there are many people that are much bigger problems for the EU like the Brexit guys, Le Pen or Orban and nothing ever happens to them.
Especially since most of the EU headhonchos are a bunch of spineless boomers that would probably get a heartattack if they would see someone driving car without using the seatbelt the idea that they send out EU assassisns that are random 71 old men just to shoot sceptics in random countries that aren't even that important to them sounds a bit funny.
 
A literal professional gamer, living in one of the most comfortable countries in the world, wonders why the Russians don't "just" rise up against their government. :story:

He should live up to his principles and volunteer for the Ukrainian army! He could get a live view of what happens when you click "go" on a battleplan.

He started uploading to YouTube in 2010. He then proceeded to use Twitch to show his games before they were edited down. I'm fairly certain Twitch was where the majority of his income came from, besides the sponserships he does. The YouTube feeds the streams which make him stable income when he can't get sponsers. Apparently he was also close to getting the money he needed to buy a house (or maybe afford the morgage), so losing his main source of income is not ideal for him.
