It's confirmed to have MP through a contact of mine, hopefully its actually balanced for it unlike stellaris who's MP lobbies became more cancerous with each updated. Could be fun given its shorter length.

Just hope they dont decide to update the game in the worst direction possible like stellaris. I miss the good old days of tiles, split systems, and rebelling sectors. Everyone says its not as good as you remember but i often go back and play it I love my time with it

Commie/Monarchist larp DLC dropping.

Basically to turn his channel
His weight-gain series is pretty popular.

HOLY FUCK, that's the beefiest Georgia I've ever seen. Is it normal for Georgia to blob out like this in EU5?

Mainland Spain and outlying territories. Getting the Iberian Wedding with Aragon had basically no chance of happening, so I had to kill them with wars. I really, really do not like the max warscore limiter for peace deals. I know it's there to slow down expansion, and it does a good enough job at that, but I still do not like it. Chipping away at an enemy over the course of a few decades just isn't as satisfying as gobbling everything in one war and growing a third of your size in just 5 years.

Spain's colonies in the New World. Once Mexico is locked down, I'll go expand into New Granada, Peru and the Plata. What I want to do for this run is build Spain's OTL Empire, stick to their OTL territories, and try to keep the empire together until the very end.
Update on Georgia after 300 years: it's so fucking over.

I have completely locked down my colonization targets, and have become the #1 Power in the world, with a personal union with Great Britian on the way.

The colonies are mostly spanish-ified, with the exception of New Spain, where settlement has stalled in the heavily populated center and south.

The Marinids and Hafsids have been completely dismantled. Integration of Morocco is going smoothly with spanish-ification in full swing.

I am in the process of dismantling the Mamluks, and retook the Holy Land. I wanted to release the Kingdom of Jerusalem as a puppet, but no puppet I could release could fit the formable requirements, so I had to make do with a renamed colonial nation. The local viceroy is working tirelessly in reintroducing Christianity to the local muslim supermajority.

I know EU5 doesn't represent ethnicity but is there distinction in the game between the Mestizo/Amerindian identity of modern Latin America and the European Spanish identity? Would the population of these colonies be the same as IRL with Spanish mixing with the Amerindian natives but just more culturally Spanish or are they predominantly ethnically Spanish?

Afterworld seems like the kind of game that I would've been excited for if I didn't get burned by Stellaris and HoI4. At least we know what the point of the Nomads DLC was.
I pretty much only play Stellaris nowadays as far as Paradox is concerned. I know, I know. This sounded right up my allye, but considering the Ship of Theseus approach to game design that particular product has been subjected to, I am doubly skeptical. Shame, postapocalyptic stuff is still largely a cool genre even if it has come under attack of the troon menace.

No, there’s no distinction as far as I can tell. There’s no ‘mestizo’ culture that forms or anything like that.

[Fat retard's wife leaves him because he won't get a real job. Circumstances force him to get one anyway.]
Youtuber moment. I'm surprised he hasn't unlocked "e-begging" in the tech tree.

Also I'm laughing at mechanics like spoilage being present because those are the first things which will be purged either before or immediately after release. The number of troon larpers who'll scream about having their perfect nonbinary utopia run ruined by such means this version of the game is the most complex Paradox will ever make it.
Spoilage mechanics immediately trigger memories of factorio where some products would decay in seconds. I highly doubt spoilage will be anything more complex than lose % of perishables per month. Despite the seething casual faggots, perhaps they will keep spoilage as a variable difficulty setting (Ironman requirement?)

Johan, we're still waiting for the racemixing DLC!!

Commie/Monarchist larp DLC
EXCELLENT choice by Paradox. Not only mobilizing the internet commies, internet autocrats and the Russians from their dens to buy their product, but it manages to be about an actual, historically relevant event of the era and, and it possibly gets to add fun alt history scenarios into the games to explore with "what if X/Y revolution failed/succeeded"? Its gameplay might end up being pure shit, but the topic they have chosen is gold from every point.

Pretty funny how that doesn't even manage to get in the top 10 strangest Russian fringe movements. My favorite ones are the Cosmists, who who were so much into mysticism, occultism and science fiction of the era, that they decided that Russia should start exploring and colonizing SPACE with all societal resources possible directed towards it. Mind it, this was still the late 1900s. Imagine if we gotten a cosmist revolution instead of a bolshevik one.

Burying the lede that they're removing complacency as well. Good riddance.
God, complacency was so fucking shit. A real nigger of a pointless and gamey mechanic, just like gating everything to purple mana in Stellaris or empire sprawl from the same game(really, it has a lot of dogshit mechanics to choose from. Just shitty, arbitrary, overabstracted throttles put on a good player and for no real reason anyway. Why does it matter if good players break them game in half and use all sorts of mechanics in creative ways(that one CK2 AAR comes to mind)? Why does it matter if someone is too good at a game and blobs too hard, too fast becasue he can deal with the challange? It does not lessen the fun casual players are getting and don't give me that "bUt iTs nOt hIsToRicAl" reddit line either, cause the game becomes ahistorical in the moment you unpause at start. If they want to hem in players, just add good, fun mechanics to struggle against that ramp up in believable ways that you can manage if you are good, instead of just an arbitrary negative "u lose lol" debuff. Look how EU3 handled its infamy wars, First you had all the little rebel sentiment events and diplomatic maluses and shit warning you as you got closer to the limit, then as you crossed it, everyone. fucking EVERYONE jumped you like it was a teen takeover. Every single OPM you bordered was coming in with the steel chair, desperately trying to stop the empire threatening them. It was amazing, not only because it was believable that such a desperate alliance could happen against a global threat, but if you were really, really good at the game and were gunning for a speedrun WC, it was actually really useful for saving diplomats on war declarations and provided a fun big war to cap off the game.

If they really want to hold back players then start acting like game developers, sit down and come up with some ideas for fun mechanics for large blobs to play into. Like, add a malus for each culture that is present in your empire, that is really nothing for 1-2 extra ones, but really starts ramping up from 5+ cultures to represent internal division and different customs in an empire, forcing them to devolve power or focus on integrating them. Add another mechanic that makes far away border provinces, scaling with distance that border right culture, right religion enemy countries be vastly more likely to revolt, secede or shit up your realm with spies. Like, if you were spain or something and picked up a single province from Georgia on the coast of the Black Sea, you would expect it to be fucking obnoxious to hold it, it is believable. But still provide you the option to do so if you really want and and willing to fortifying it and spend more money on garrisoning it that its disgruntled peasants are bringing in. Maybe you even go full hog and fiill it with settlers, because you hhave a strategic need for a port in the area or something Expansion should be managed not just by one big mana, but several smaller, interacting mechanics pushing back against it, that you have a choice going against. Ideally, the player should be juggling several diplomatic risks and opportunities and decide the best course of expansion depending on the situation. Maybe you are in such a surging position that you go and annex all your neighbors in one go, because you can, maybe you just want a bit off the sides, an agreeable adjustment of the balance of power and sometimes the land maybe more trouble than its worth for now.

One day I will rent a server, download a chinese LM, and run it endlessly until it decompiles Hoi4 and Vic2. Then I will merge the two into one and create the ultimate grand strategy game.

The Vic3 dev team will then cast themselves into the Baltic Sea out of shame. I will host the source code out of my Kakheti bunker and PDX's stock price will crash - unable to compete with my GNU glory.

Also I guess I will offload some calculations to the GPU to make the game run faster or something.
