I think I found another bit of censorship...I haven't done a full playthrough of the GameCube original in years but I'm about 99% sure I remember the ghost Toad on the Excess Express telling Mario he wants his soul instead of his life. Other than all the stuff that was changed for political correctness or wokeness or whatever all of the dialog does seem to be exactly the same as I remember it. I'm already up to Gloomtail and there still hasn't been any more references to Vivian being a dude beyond that one line where it's easy to pretend she's saying something more ambiguous thank god.

Update on this - further research has shown that my memory of the ghost saying "It will cost you your soul" was just a mandella effect, so I guess there was no censorship there

This reminds me of something. On the furry thread, someone pointed out a porn website also bans people on "admin discretion", this trend's weird and worrying in a way I can't put my fingers on. What other site does this?

I'd rather be banned from a website for violating known rules than being banned for "admin discretion".

Is this something ResetEra even does? For all the shit it gets since it's a SJW haven, I don't think anyone there has gotten banned due to "admin discretion".

So, the rule they broke is... nothing because they did nothing against the rules.
Meanwhile, their excuse for removing the mod is because someone made an account to upload it. Yeah, maybe because a) they don't want to drag their main account into this and risk getting banned or b) they, like most modders, don't plan on making a billion different mods. Be careful with fivver since there's way too many people trying to rip you off. For example, there's a lot of people claiming they'll play whatever you send them but you'll just end up getting a MIDI track back with sampled instruments. Now with stuff like Chat-GPT, expect more of the same.
