It’s amazing how the last few months have been Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft competing to see who can piss the most people off, with each taking their own unique approach.

Migrate to PC. Support indies (the good ones; they do exist). Emulate. Play rom hacks.
 
This character was radioactive even in the proto-SJW days. Never had any affection for the uwu creepy-cute trope, so I never bothered with Vivian when he wasn't compulsory.
 
Most of the time there isn't a good reason to spend $60 on a remake. Especially not when you can easily play it for free. Of course, some people have lot's of money and think, "I want to play it on my Switch and I don't want to have to mod my Switch." However, to me if they then smear tranny shit all over it, even if I was a rich person who randomly handed out $60 on the street for fun, I wouldn't buy it. That's just me though.

Wow that tiny change to the video game changes the entire content structure and gameplay mechanics. Obviously suicide is the only answer to the emotional distress caused by this.

Maybe a dumb question, but was this at all a thing in the original or Japanese version? I'm usually willing to give a pass to stupid SJW shit if it's 10+ years are older, mainly because prior to that it wasn't as pozzed, also it basically never happened.
 
Not sure how to feel about the Vivian trans femboy argument, seems like it's a fight to preserve nuance that can easily be misinterpreted one way or the other anyway. It'll be entertaining to pay attention to. In briefly doing research, I cringed harder at what the old Italian translation did:
In the original Japanese version of the GameCube game – as previously explained by the University of Perugia’s Japanese language lecturer Francesca Di Marco – Vivian’s sister asks her how she can consider herself a Shadow Sister, and taunts her by saying: “You are a man! A man!”

Vivian sheepishly replies: “Sorry sister, it was my mistake.”

This was tweaked in most European versions of the game to retain Vivian’s trans status, but to make her prouder of it.

In the Italian version, for example, Vivian’s sister makes the same taunt, but Vivian replies: “That’s true, you are two sisters, but I am a woman too now, and I’m proud to have turned into a woman.”

Change seems a little jarring and tone-deaf of what they might have been going for with the character.
